Lewis G. Wolfgang, 80, of 335 Creek Road, Ashland. passed away Thursday, July 19th, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Mowry, PA February 11, 1927 he was the son of the late Harry and Annie (Knock) Wolfgang. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War I I.
He worked as an independent miner for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Kulpmont, PA and enjoyed Hunting.
He is survived by his wife Anneliese (Schallert) Wolfgang, Shenandoah, PA
A daughter survives: Nancy Shuey, Ashland, PA.
Preceding him in death was a son: Mark Wolfgang died in 2001.
A daughter in law survives; Marina Wolfgang, New Jersey.
Surviving are two brothers: Allen & Lester of Ashland, PA
Surviving are two Sisters: Carrie Roby, Philadelphia, PA; Agnes Hause, Ashland, PA.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Emerson; Clair; Lawrence; Paul; & Robert Wolfgang.
Sisters preceding him in death was a sister: Gertrude Brosky.
Surviving are four grandchildren: Mieralla Wolfgang, N.J.; Frank Mattis Jr. and his Dad Frank Mattis, Ashland; Melissa wife of Chris Troutman, Mt. Carmel; Dan husband of Debbie Shuey, Girardville, PA.
Two great grand children survive: Nolan Heiber and Jake Shuey. A great great
grandson preceded him in death: Justin Shuey.
Services will be held at the convenience of the immediate family.
Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA is in charge of arrangements.

Leonard.E. Dinger, 78, of 515 McKnight Street, Gordon, PA died Tuesday,
July 31, 2007 at his residence in Gordon.
Born in Fountain, PA July 11, 1929 he was the son of the late James and Dorothy
(Edwards) Dinger. He was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church,
Gordon, PA and a member of the Gordon Rifle Club. He last worked for American General Life Insurance Co. as a Licensed Agent until retirement.
One daughter Two sons survive:
Wendy Monaghn, of Gordon, PA.; Russell Dinger, of Pottsville, PA. and Bruce Dinger, of Ashland, PA.
Two brothers Five sisters survive:
Gerald Dinger, New Jersey; Donald Dinger, Hegins, PA
Linda Dinger, Hegins, PA; Darlene Klinger, Hegins, PA; Joan Dinger, Pitman, PA; Bernice Adcock, Arkansas; Carol Cook, Arkansas.
Two brothers preceded him in death: Floyd and Wilmer Dinger.
Seven grandchildren Four great grandchildren survive Nieces & Nephews.

James E. Edling, 51, of Fountain Springs, PA passed away suddenly Wednesday, August 1st, 2007 at the Pottsville Hospital in Pottsville, PA
Born in Ashland March 27, 1956 he was the son of the late Carl F. and Mary ( Barnard ) Edling. Also preceding him in death was a daughter Amanda Marie.
He was a member and current Fire Chief of the American Fire Company, Ft. Springs, PA. A member of the Washington Fire Co., Ashland. and a Board Member of the Pioneer Tunnel and Brock cemetery in Ashland. He was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 780.
He graduated from North Schuylkill High School and Penn State University. He was currently employed by ITT, Gould's Pump Co. for the past 33 years.
Surviving are his wife Helene ( Keninetz ) and son James (JR), at home.
Four brothers, two sisters survive:
Carl husband of Skye Edling, Hegins, PA; Ronald (Mick) husband of Diane, Richmond, VA; William (Bill) husband of Mary Edling, Palm Harbor, Fla.;
Danny husband of Margaret Edling, Ranshaw, PA; Jean wife of Edward Kramer,
Ashland; and Carol wife of James Reiner of Gordon, PA.
Nieces & Nephews survive.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday August 7, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Good Council Church, Gordon, PA. Interment in St. Joseph's cemetery,
Ft. Springs, PA. Visitation Monday evening 6:00-9:00 PM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home and Tuesday 9:30 - 10:30 AM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home in Ashland, PA. Memorial contributions can be made to the Local Fire Companies in Jim's Memory for his devotion to saving lives and helping others.

Janelle D. Johnson, 45, of 417 N. Maple Street Mt. Carmel. passed away Thursday, August 2nd, 2007 at her residence in Mt. Carmel.
Born in Ashland June 26, 1962 she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Mary
(Delbo) Rockwell. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland, PA. She was also a member of the West End Athletic Club, Mt. Carmel and the Sons of Poland, Mt. Carmel She was a graduate of North Schuylkill High School Class of 1980.
Surviving are two daughters; Jessica Peifer, Shamokin, PA and Heather Warcola,
Sunbury, PA.
She is survived by her step father Robert Rockwell, Ashland, PA.
Two brothers three sisters survive:
Jack Rockwell, Ashland; Robert Rockwell, Ashland; Karen Wolfe, Lavelle; Machelle Rockwell, Girardville; and Eleanor Bucher, Mt. Carmel.
A brother Ronald Rockwell preceded her in death in 2005.
Three grandchildren survive: Miranda; Madison; and Matthew

Funeral Service will be held at Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 6th, with Rev. Daniel DeSchoolmeester officiating. Interment at Citizens cemetery, Lavelle, PA.
Visitation Monday 9:00-11:00 AM. at Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church,
13th & Market Street, Ashland, PA. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA
is in charge of arrangements.

Emil R. Ermert, 96, of 1237 Race Street, Ashland. passed away Saturday, August 4th, 2007 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, PA.
Born in Ashland January 28, 1911 he was the son of the late Rudolph and Emma (Long) Ermert.
Emil was employed by the Reading Coal and Iron Company and served as it's chief
Engineer of Operating Subsidiaries and President. In 1959 he retired form Reading Coal Co. and became Borough Manager of the Ashland until his retirement in 1972. He was one of the original founders of Brock cemetery Association; Ashland Community Enterprises (Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine); and Schuylkill Area Community Foundation (formerly Ashland Trusts). Was past President of the Board of Directors of Brock cemetery Association; and past Pres. of Ashland Community Enterprises and was former director of Schuylkill Area Community Foundation.
He was a former director of Ashland Mutual Fire Insurance Company until 1993.
He was a member of the Historical Society of Schuylkill County and the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette M. (Proctor) with whom he was married in 1970 Her loving care and attention made it possible for him to survive so long. Nothing was ever too much for her to do for him. Surviving also are his niece and grand nephew Barbara Farrari and her son Joseph Ferrari forever giving him their support, never missing a daily visit to see if he needed anything which he deeply appreciated.
Preceding him in death were one sister, three brothers:
Ruth DIll; Wilmer; Earl; and Wayne Ermert
Nieces and Nephews survive.
Funeral Services will be held from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 9th, with Rev. Rose Marquardt officiating.
Interment at Brock cemetery, Ashland, PA.
Visitation Thursday 9:00-12:00 Noon from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, 901 Center St. Ashland, PA. Memorial Contributions can be made to Grace Congregational Church, main St., Locustdale, PA 17945. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth "Betty" Troup, 86, of 1034 Brock Street Ashland. passed away Saturday, August 4th, 2007 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Center, Mt. Carmel, PA
Born in Lavelle, PA July 27, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie
(Shields) Banning. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland. A member of the Christian Woman's Association and a former
4-H Club member. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1939.
Preceding her in death was her husband Warren in 1990.
She was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers: Lester and Russell Banning and Ruth Hummell.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter: Randy Troup, Ashland; John Troup of
Sterling VA.; and Kathy Harris of Warminster, PA.
One brother survives: Asher Banning, Lavelle, PA
Six grandchildren two great grandchildren Nieces & Nephews survive.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at 12:00 Noon in Bethany E C Church, Ashland, PA with Rev. Daniel DeSchoolmeester officiating.
Interment in Citizens cemetery, Lavelle, PA.
Visitation Thursday evening 6:00-8:00 PM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home,
Ashland and Friday 10:00 AM -12:00 Noon in Bethany E. C. C., Ashland, PA.
Memorial contributions can be made to Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church
