James A. Isenberg

May 25, 2006

James A. Isenberg, 54, of 210 - 5th Ave., Altoona, and formerly of Tyrone, died Tuesday afternoon, May 23, 2006 at the Altoona Regional Health System Altoona Hospital Campus.
He was born Oct. 9, 1951 in Altoona, a son of the late Edward K. and Betty L. (McNeal) Isenberg.
He is survived by four children, Daniel Fink and Anthony Fink of Tyrone, Matthew Maier and Michael Maier and longtime companion Elizabeth Maier of Altoona; three grandchildren, four brothers and one sister: Edward L., Daniel A., Ronald K., Ralph T. Isenberg and Charleen L. Bartlebaugh (Gary) all of Tyrone.
There are several nieces and nephews and he was preceded in death by brothers Roy and Richard Isenberg.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1972-74 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a retired roofer.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 26, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the service at 2 p.m.

Eleanor S. Bradigan

May 16, 2006

Eleanor S. Bradigan, 79, formerly of 2 W. 11th St., and a resident of Epworth Manor, Tyrone was received by her Lord peacefully on Sunday afternoon May 14, 2006.
She was born Sept. 30 1926 in Tyrone, a daughter of Donald and Bernadine (Miller) Varner.
She was formerly married to Clarence L. Bradigan who survives.
She had moved from Tyrone in 1951 to Philadelphia and moved back to Tyrone in 1995.
She is survived by three sons: Randall S. Bradigan (Annette) of Tyrone, Robert C. (Marybeth) and Tracey R. Bradigan of Philadelphia; four grandchildren: Christopher and Salena Bradigan of Tyrone, Josh and Kelly Bradigan of Philadelphia; a brother, Jack Varner (Jeanette) of Tyrone and sisters Laura Magill, Susan Ott, Hazel Weise of Altoona and several nieces and nephews.
She was a former member of the Tyrone E.U.B. Church and the Lawndale Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
She was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1946. She enjoyed bowling and was a former member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Aux. and the D.A.R.
She loved beautiful surroundings, adored her pets and loved her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She retired in 1991 from McNeil Consumer Laboratories (Johnson & Johnson) at Ft. Washington, PA after 25 years of service.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone with the Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour before the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Epworth Manor, 951 Washington Ave., Tyrone, PA 16686.

Helen H. Dale

Helen H. Dale, 85, a resident of Epworth Manor, Tyrone, and formerly of Baltimore, MD went to be with her Lord on Saturday morning, May 13, 2006 at Epworth Manor.
She was born Nov. 12, 1920 at Rayland, Jefferson County, OH, a daughter of John and Mary (Duda) Letusick.
She was married to George Henry Dale who died Jan. 8, 1993.
She is survived by three sisters: Mary Hensley of Finleyville, Kathryn Kendrick and Josephine Hockenberry and husband Jesse of Epworth Manor, Tyrone; two brothers: John Letusick (Alma) of Rayland, OH and Louis Letusick (Lilly) of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; niece, Helen Pressler (John) of Port Matilda and nephew Jesse Hockenberry, Jr. (Terrie) of Baltimore, OH.
There are several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews that survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, two brothers and infant niece Barbara Hockenberry.
She enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles. She was a well-loved wife, sister and aunt and will be missed by many.
She had been employed for many years as a meat packer at a packing plant in Baltimore, MD.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Epworth Manor Personal Care Chapel, Tyrone with Rev. Mark Liller officiating. Interment will be at Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
Friends will be received at the Epworth Manor Personal Care Chapel one hour before the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Relay for Life of Centre Hall c/o Tina Pressler, 100 Patton Plaza, State College, Pa. 16803.
Arrangements are by the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone.

Jessica Futrick Englebrecht

Jessica Futrick Englebrecht, 32, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Tyrone, died Monday, May 15, 2006 of injuries received in a two vehicle accident in Clute, Texas.

Violet Joy Caber

May 15, 2006

Violet Joy Caber, 71, of Tipton went to be with the Lord Friday, May 12, 2006 at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus after a long, courageous battle with respiratory disease.
She was born June 6, 1934 in Shreve, Ohio a daughter of the late Elmer and Nora (Bentz) Weuthrick. On May 29, 1965 in Tyrone she married Eugene E. Caber. He died April 6, 1983.
Surviving is a daughter Robin J. Caber; a son Eugene E. II; a grandson Charles Neil and a step-daughter, Kathy Marie Caber, all of Tipton; two sisters, June Fitch of Warren, Ohio and Victoria Albright and husband Don of Tipton and a brother Warren Weuthrick and wife Ruth of Akron, Ohio. She was a special aunt to several nieces and nephews and a friend to all animals.
She was formerly employed at Chicago Rivet, Tyrone and served as a Notary Public and a PennDot Messenger.
Known as “Dutchy” she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her only grandson Chuckie, going for drives and playing cards. She is remembered as a loving and committed mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a lasting example of unselfish love.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Francis Craker officiating. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

L. Elnora ‘Norie’ Reese

May 12, 2006

Mrs. L. Elnora “Norie” Reese, 84, of RD3 Box 210, Tyrone, died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the Altoona Regional Health System Bon Secours Campus.
She was born August 15, 1921 at Huntingdon, W. Va. a daughter of Carrell and Mabel (Mohr) Randolph.
She was married October 8, 1939 at Houtzdale to Morris L. Reese who died May 19, 1993.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Barbara Loner (William) of Port Matilda, Linda Williams of Vallejo, Ca., Kathy Robinson (Michael) of Rodeo, Ca., Morris Wayne Reese of Tyrone and Troy Alan Reese of Tyrone; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lola Turiano and Gladys Osterhout of Tyrone and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Richard Morris and sisters Alice Dancho and Louisa Langan.
She was a member of the Bald Eagle Methodist Church and a graduate of Houtzdale High School.
She was an avid Bingo player.
She and her husband Morris were co-owners of Reese’s Meat Market in Bald Eagle since 1940.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Michele Somerville officiating. Interment will be at Bald Eagle Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Claire L. LeBlanc

Claire L. (LeBlanc) LeBlanc, 76, of 370 West Street, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at the Life Care Center of Leominster.

She was the wife of Edmond L. LeBlanc who died June 1, 2005 and the mother of the late John C. “Chuck” LeBlanc of Niagara Falls, NY who died this past February.

She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Joan R. and Charles B. Johns of Leominster; a grandson, Joshua LeBlanc and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. LeBlanc was born in Newark, NJ, March 26, 1930, a daughter of Harvey and Lena (Leger) LeBlanc and resided in New Jersey, New York, Florida and Fitchburg before moving to Tipton 35 years ago.

While residing in Pennsylvania, she was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church and a member of its Catholic Daughters of America.

She worked as a school librarian in Pennsylvania.

Memorial contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Mary Ann Sprinkle, Director of Development, 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494.
