Lois A. J. Miller

April 20, 2006

Lois A. J. Miller, 70, of 420 W. 18th St., Tyrone died Monday, April 17, 2006 at Tyrone Hospital.

She was born June 1, 1935 in Tyrone a daughter of Clarence and Mary (Greene) Yeager. In October 1952, in Cumberland, Maryland, she married William T. Miller Sr. He died December 9, 1975.

Surviving are three daughters: Carol A. Leech, Beverly J. Nestlerode and husband George III, Alice A. Burket and husband Butch, all of Tyrone; three sons: William T. Jr. of Tyrone, Wilbur M. Sr. and wife Mary Ann of Tyrone, Jeffery A. Sr. and wife Misty of Tipton; 10 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Eva Tuskovich of Bald Eagle and Hannah Zimmerman of Thomastown; a brother, Thomas Yeager of Bellemead and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two grandsons: William and Matthew Miller; two brothers and a sister, Ethel.

Mrs. Miller was a member of Rock of Ages Church, Tyrone. She enjoyed her grandchildren and flowers.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Mike Baney officiating. Interment followed at Baughman Cemetery.

Lois A. J. Miller

Lois A. J. Miller, 70, of 420 W. 18th St., Tyrone died Monday, April 17, 2006 at Tyrone Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Mike Baney officiating. Interment will follow at Baughman Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Chester Paul Miller

April 18, 2006

Chester Paul Miller, 79, of RD4 Box 11, Tyrone, PA died Sunday afternoon, April 16, 2006 at the Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Campus.

He was born September 24, 1926 at Ramey, PA, a son of Herman and Maude (Martin) Miller.

He was married Oct. 31, 1959 at Osceola Mills, PA to Dorothy A. LeFort.

He is survived by his wife and a son Chester “Paul” Miller, Jr. and his wife Penny of Tyrone; a sister, Shirley Mocham of Youngstown, OH and two brothers: James Miller of Fayetteville, NC and Jack Miller of Morann, PA.

He was preceded in death by brothers Fred, Russell, Robert and sisters Jean and Betty.

He was a member of the Tyrone Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and puzzles.

He retired as a meat processor from Juniata Packing Co., Tyrone, after 33 years service.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone with Dr. Samuel Abraham officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Bible Baptist Church, 1455 Hamilton Ave., Tyrone, PA 16686.

Donna J. Price-Fleck

April 14, 2006

Donna J. Price-Fleck, 78, formerly of W. 14th St., Tyrone died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Altoona Regional Health System-Bon Secours Campus.

She was born August 12, 1927 in Tyrone a daughter of Clyde W. and Edna B. (Morrissey) Little. She was twice married first to Albert K. Price on June 25, 1949 in Tyrone. He died June 8, 2000. She then married Frank L. Fleck who preceded her in death on February 25, 2005.

Surviving is a son Alan K. of Tyrone; a daughter Vicky DiNicola of Roaring Spring; five grandchildren: Anita Moore and husband Frank, Anissa Withers and husband Aaron, Derek, Alyson and Lindsay Price; four great-grandchildren: Hannah and Austin Moore, Gabriel and Caleb Withers and a sister Emma Jane Andreas and husband George of Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter Kathy Lee and four brothers: Elmer, Fay, Charles and Clyde Jr.

She loved her family and was always there. She enjoyed bingo and doing for others.

Private viewing and services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Logan Valley Cemetery.

Arrangements by Feller Memorial Home.

Jack E. Moskel

April 14, 2006

Jack E. Moskel, 79, of 1747 Adams Ave., Tyrone died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Tyrone Hospital.

He was born January 18, 1927 in Madera, a son of William and Mary (Russian) Moskel. On November 2, 1945 in Elkton, MD, he married Phyllis M. Stroup. She died October 24, 1999.

Surviving are five daughters, Cathy Wiser, Margaret Batchler and husband Gary, Patricia Griffith and husband Gary and Donna Myers and husband James, all of Tyrone, Susan and husband William of Altoona, 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two sisters: Peg Long of Sadsburyville, June Sharrer of Modena and a brother Robert Moskel of Coatesville.

He was preceded in death by two sons: John and Franklin, five sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Moskel retired in 1992 from Milton Transportation as a truck driver following 10 years service. He was previously employed as a truck dispatcher for Rowe Cambridge Trucking, Bald Eagle.

He was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Tyrone and was raised in the Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park.

Friends will be received today at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Lee Howard Henninger

Lee Howard Henninger, 50, of RR3, Box 421, Tyrone, PA, died Friday evening at his residence.

He was born at Bald Eagle, a son of Wesley Sherman and Ellen Louise (Carson) Henninger.

He was married July 2, 1990 at Winchester, VA to Olive Cowher.

He is survived by his wife, daughter Audrey Ann Henninger, son Lee H. Henninger, Jr. and a grandson Devon Henninger, all at home; his mother Ellen Louise Henninger of RD3, Bald Eagle.

He is also survived by one brother and four sisters: Barry Lynn Henninger of Grazierville; Doreen Becker of Dysart, PA; Eileen E. Glace and Ellen E. Henninger of RD3, Tyrone and Joy Hunter of Tyrone; a sister-in-law, Venessa Henninger of Tyrone and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1973 and a brother, Wesley S., Jr. in 1998.

He was a member of the Bald Eagle Methodist Church and a graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 1974. Mr. Henninger was a member of the Hookies Fire Company and the McIntyre Hunting Camp.

He was employed as a supervisor at Albemarle Corp., Tyrone for over 20 years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Michele Somerville officiating. Interment will be at Presbyterian Cemetery, Port Matilda, PA.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Contributions in his memory may be given to the Boy Scout Troop No. 103, c/o Bald Eagle Methodist Church.

Elmer Walls

March 27, 2006

Elmer Walls, of 1400 Cameron Ave., Tyrone, died this morning, March 27, 2006 at the Veterans Hospital, Altoona.

Arrangements are by the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone.

Carol J. Bright

March 22, 2006

Carol J. Bright, 41, of Grazierville, RD4-Box 109, Tyrone, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 1:15 a.m. from injuries of an auto accident at 450 Washington Ave., Tyrone.

She was born May 13, 1964 in Altoona, PA, a daughter of Reginald A. Miller, Jr. of Tyrone and Betty Iddings of Florida.

She is survived by three children: Dustin and Brandon Bright of Ocala, Fla. and Kyle Howard at home, Tyrone and two grandchildren.

She is also survived by her father and step-mother, Reginald A. and Barbara Miller, Jr. of Tyrone; her grandmother Hazel Miller, RD1, Tyrone and seven brothers and two sisters: Ricky Miller of Wisconsin; David L. Miller (Shawnee), Tyrone; Christine A. Becker (Keith), Altoona; Russell A. Miller (Tammy), Tyrone; Ronald E. Miller (Michele) serving with the Army in Afghanistan; Michael W. Osterhout, Lori M. Osterhout, Reginald A. Osterhout, and Jeffrey P. Miller all of Tyrone. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother Larry Miller and her grandfather, Reginald “Allen” Miller, Sr.

She was a member of the Tyrone Moose, Legion and V.F.W. and enjoyed fishing and camping and shooting pool and spending time with family and friends.

She was last employed as a waitress at Fat Freddy’s and previously at Burley’s Restaurant, Tyrone.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Snyder Township.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Anna Louise Sharrar

March 20, 2006

Mrs. Anna Louise Sharrar, age 69, of 605 W. 14th Street, Tyrone went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 1:30 a.m. at her residence.

She was born February 9, 1937 in Altoona, the daughter of Hobart McKinley and Margaret Friday Temple and on Dec. 18, 1956 in Altoona was married to Wayne Charles Sharrar who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters: Cindy K. Dancer, Linda L. Christine (Fred) and Sharon L. Reese (Joe), all of Tyrone; six grandchildren: Danica Stayton, New Market, MD; James Dancer, Anchorage, AK; Lynn I. Wheland III, Mt. Holly, NJ; Rebekah Wheland, Matthew Christine and Jason Reese, all of Tyrone; and three great-grandchildren: Nina Kenney, Logan Stayton and Alysa Wheland.

Also surviving are three brothers: Hobart Temple, Danvers, MA; Wilford Temple, Manheim, PA; Larry Temple, Andalusia, PA and four sisters: Peg Phillips, Waynesboro, PA; Shirley Temple, Juniata; Dorothy Lansberry, Campbell, CA; and May McConnell, Altoona, PA.

She was preceded in death by a brother Donald Temple and a grandson, Jon Dancer.

Mrs. Sharrar was a graduate of Altoona High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Tyrone and was serving as president of the Ladies Missionary Society. She was also the secretary of the Epworth Manor Auxiliary where she volunteered faithfully. She loved her family dearly.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Louise Sharrar will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church, 1553 Columbia Avenue, Tyrone with Pastor Roy Garthwaite officiating.

Interment will follow in Logan Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from noon until the time of services.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the building fund of Grace Baptist Church or to the Care Assurance fund of Epworth Manor.
