MARIE HOUP DAVEY WHITE

Marie Houp Davey White , 87, of Greensburg, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, in St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born May 12, 1912, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Arnold and Elizabeth Shonter Houp. She was a member of St. Bruno's Catholic Church of South Greensburg. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a food service manager with the Hempfield Area School District. She was a member of the Greensburg Lioness and the Catholic daughters of America. Marie enjoyed playing cards and was a member of various card clubs. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Thomas R. Davey and J. Guy White ; a son, Thomas R. Davey; and a brother, Arnold C. "Dutch" Houp. She is survived by a son, Terry A. Davey and his wife, Joan, of Greensburg; two daughters , Margaret A. Curry of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Elizabeth Jane Zumbro of Torrance, Calif.; five grandchildren, David, Dennis, and Dale Curry, Richard Zumbro, and Tiffany Davey; and a sister, Elizabeth Hanson and her husband, Ralph, of Greensburg. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Bruno's Church, South Greensburg. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorials may be placed with St. Anne Home, 685 Angela Drive, Greensburg.

A. KNOX BASSETT

A. Knox Bassett, 80, of Murrysville, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000. He was born July 22, 1919, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late James Guy and Mary Knox Bassett. He was a retired purchasing agent for Dravo Corp., Pittsburgh, with 42 years of service and was currently a tax consultant for Akman and Associates PC, Pittsburgh. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member and treasurer of the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church, Murrysville, and a member of the City Farmers Club. He is survived by his wife, Alvira Hart Bassett; two sons , Mark E. Bassett of Pasadena, Calif., and Ross Knox Bassett and his wife, Deborah, of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Beth Craig and her husband, Robert, of Ellicott City, Md.; three grandchildren, Anna Bassett, Taylor Craig and Alexander Knox Craig; and a brother, James G. Bassett and his wife, Claire, of Murrysville. Visitation Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kenneth White and the Rev. Marnie Silbert co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. If desired, memorials may be made to the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church.

ANN S. SHAK BELLOCK

Ann S. Shak Bellock, 82, of Monroeville, on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000. Wife of the late Michael W. Dear mother of Marion E. Krul of Monroeville. Grandmother of Maria Barie, Deborah Johnson and Lisa Zelich. Also six great-grandchildren. Sister of Steve Shak of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the late Paul, George and Michael Shak. Also numerous nieces and nephews; many good and dear friends; and special thanks to Frank LaBanz. MARY ANN (LICCARDI) DiMIERI

Mary Ann (Liccardi) DiMieri, 81, of Wilmerding, died Friday Feb. 18, 2000. Loving and most beautiful mother of Carmella (Joe Miele) DiMieri, Josephine (Charles) Conti and William (Lois) DiMieri. Dearest grandmother of Carla, Angela and Jo Lynn Conti, Jennifer, Paul and Melissa DiMieri and great-grandmother of Paul Douglas Blume. Preceded in death by husband, Paul J. DiMieri; parents, Pietro and Angela Marie (Giordano) Liccardi; sisters , Carmella Rocco and Victoria Bonacci; and brothers , Charles and Frank Liccardi. Survived by her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandson. Sister of Geraldine Diana; sister-in-law of Katie Provenzano Pollack; cousin of Mary Olexia; numerous nieces and nephews; and caring friends. She will live in our hearts always. Friends received at the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. Services in the funeral home Monday at 9 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.

JAMES J. GILLIGAN

James J. Gilligan, 79, of Derry, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at the William Penn Care Center, Penn Township. He was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Latrobe, a son of the late William L. and Mary Josephine Schwartz Gilligan. He was retired from Latrobe Forge and Spring, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and VFW Post 444 of Derry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Mary Nolfi Gilligan, in 1979; four brothers , John, Louis, Robert and Thomas; and three sisters , Anna Mary, Margaret and Caroline. Jim is survived by two sons , Charles J. "James" and his wife, Lynn, of Trafford and Patrick G. and his wife, Judy, of Latrobe; three grandchildren, James H., Jeffrey L. and Shane P. Gilligan; a great-grandson, Justin James Gilligan; a sister-in-law, Ann Gilligan of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Derry. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Derry.

MARY GERTRUDE McCARTHY

Mary Gertrude McCarthy, 81, of Jeannette, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born May 26, 1918, in Turtle Creek, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Gertrude Miller Leslie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William McCarthy; and a son, Terrence McCarthy. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Jeannette. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia McCarthy of Jeannette; a son, Charles McCarthy of Jeannette; two grandsons, Chad and Derek McCarthy; a great-grandson, Nathan Rathgeb; three sisters , Winifred Visco and Hazel McAllen, both of Turtle Creek, and Betty Numar of Boca Raton, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hempfield Township.

WALTER H. MORROW

Walter H. Morrow, of Delmont, formerly of Wilkins Township, on Friday, Feb. 18, 2000. Beloved husband of Carol E. Morrow. Dear Father of Nancy Morrow Norris and her husband, Robert N., of California, Linda Morrow Choma and her husband, John, of Cranberry Township and David H. Morrow and his fiancee, Andrea, of Wilkins Township. Loving son of LaVogne V. Morrow and the late Walter H. Morrow Sr. Twin brother of Jack V. Morrow and brother of Arlene M. Rink. Grandfather of Jesse David and Ryan Hunter Norris and Johnny Choma. Mr. Morrow retired after 43 years of service with PNC Bank. He was past master and treasurer of Infinity Lodge F&AM #546. K. JOY (THOMPSON) PARISI

K. Joy (Thompson) Parisi, 70, of Wilmerding, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000. Daughter of the late Walter and Zarilda (Phillipi) Thompson. Beloved wife of Joseph S. "Joe" Parisi. Dear mother of Toni L. Shorthouse, Linda A. (Joe) Comunale and Michael Zoric. Grandmother of Joey and Lindsey Nelis and Trevor Shorthouse. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received at the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services in the funeral home Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by services in the First United Methodist Church of Wilmerding at 10 a.m.

MARGARET M. RANDALL

Margaret M. Randall, 83, of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Mt. Macrina Manor. She was born Sept. 11, 1916, in Pricedale, a daughter of the late Luke and Kathryn Shaffer McDonough. She was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, Fayette City. She was predeceased by her husband, William Randall, on Jan. 11, 1984; a son, Joseph Randall; four brothers , Norbert, J. Paul, Daniel and Robert McDonough; and a sister, Marcella McDonough. Surviving are her stepmother, Mary McDonough of Fayette City; three sons , William L. Randall of Littleton, Colo., James R. Randall of England and Stephen R. Randall of Vienna, Va.; six daughters , Mary Kathryn Mannella of Charleroi, Anne Vargo of Rostraver Township, Sandra Fitzwater of Philadelphia, Margaret Alice Tatsch of Lorain, Ohio, Phyllis Stammitti of Akron, Ohio, and Virginia Randall of Maneto, N.C.; five brothers , Francis McDonough of Palm Bay, Fla., David McDonough and Michael McDonough of North Charleroi, Mark McDonough of Washington , Pa., and Thomas McDonough of Dunlevy; two sisters , Gertrude Heaton of Houston and Ruth Kobal of Fairhope. Also survived by 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Due to the flooding in Fayette City, friends will be received at the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday until 9:30 a.m., when a blessing service will take place, followed by a Funeral Mass in the Holy Spirit R.C. Church, Fayette City, with the Rev. Father Leonard McAlpin as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

DAVID R. SEGAL

David R. Segal, of Hollywood, Fla., on Friday, Feb. 18, 2000. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor Meyers Segal. Beloved Father of Lois and Gerald Browdie of Greensburg and Larry and Stephanie Segal of Miami, Fla. Brother of Paul Segal, Harold Segal and Irving Segal. Beloved grandfather of Stacy and Dan Cohen, Brian Browdie and Karen Loew, Jodi and Jamie Segal. Beloved great-grandfather of Andrew and Maddie Cohen. Services at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL INC., 5509 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, Monday at 1 p.m. Visitation with the family one hour prior (noon to 1 p.m.). Interment Beth Abraham Cemetery. CATHERINE RODENZ STUCHAL

Catherine Rodenz Stuchal, of Adamsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Peter and Mildred McKinley Rodenz. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers , Michael, Paul and George Rodenz; and a sister, Anne Louise King. She is survived by her husband, Clayton G. Stuchal Sr.; a daughter, Anna Marie Miller of Jeannette; and a son, Clayton G. Stuchal Jr. of Adamsburg. Also surviving are three brothers , John and Joseph Rodenz of Adamsburg and Nicholas Rodenz of Wendel; and a sister, Margaret Perillo of Lakewood, Calif. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. R. Bruce Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.

ALBERT J. ZORZI

Albert J. Zorzi, on Friday, Feb. 18, 2000. Beloved husband of the late Olga (March) Zorzi. Father of Mildred Unterberger. Brother of the late Harry Hatfield. Also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the FINDLAY C. WYLIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Susanna Church. ANTHONY AMATO SR.

Anthony Amato Sr., 72, of North Versailles, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at UPMC McKeesport. He was a retired employee of J&L Steel; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; and a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church. He was the husband of Jean M. Petrocelli Amato; Father of Dolores J. Magill (Peter), Anthony Amato Jr. (Deborah), Richard Amato (Lisa), Anna Mason (Kenneth), and Karen Comport (Michael); and brother of Dominic Amato; also six grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JAMES F. KUTCH FUNERAL HOME, 433 Greensburg Ave. (Route 30), East McKeesport. Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport. LORENZA J. BAKER

Lorenza J. Baker, 79, of Penn Township, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 26, 1920, in Penn Township, a son of the late Nelson Presley and Agnes Wampler Baker. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist by Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh for 43 years from 1941 to 1983. He worked on parts of the first nuclear submarine, the Nautilus, that went under the North Pole. He was also the assistant chief of the Westinghouse Fire Department and was an ordained deacon of the First United Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Ralph and Edward Baker. He is survived by his wife, Mary Mathias Baker, whom he met Feb. 27, 1939, and married May 10, 1941; two daughters , Bonnie L. and husband, James Warder, of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Loriann and husband, Pat Witte, of Dana Point, Calif.; a brother, Jerome Baker of Penn Township; two sisters , Irene Mathias of North Huntingdon and Margie Vargo of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Lynn Wilson, Beth Ann Stetar, Heather Eaton and Jarrod Menz; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Stetar and Colin Wilson. He was a Father figure to many of his family. Visitation with the family will be held at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Ardara United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Carlisle Lloyd officiating.
