PEARL L. EIFORD

Pearl L. Eiford, 82, of Scottdale RD1, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, in the Eicher's Family Home, Normalville. She was born Dec. 15, 1917, in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Roy W. and Minnie Ohler Anderson. Pearl was a loving mother , grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of the Owensdale United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Ronald W. Eiford and his wife, Nancy, with whom she had resided, of Scottdale RD1; two daughters , Ella Mae Carty and her husband, Bernice, of Berlin Heights, Ohio, and Kay A. Hesson and her husband, John, of Greenville; six grandchildren, Laurie Pritchard and husband, Don, of Hanover, Ron Eiford Jr. and wife, Kim, of Alverton, Melonie Androstic and husband, Jim, of Scottdale RD1, John Hesson Jr. and wife, Karen, of Cresson, Kelly Linzenbold and husband, Brian, of Transfer and Clark Carty and wife, Darlene, of Brunswick, Ohio; and three sisters , Rella Weyand of Normalville, Dollie Grimm and husband, Howard, of Normalville and Ruby Wood and husband, James, of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Melvin D. Eiford, on Dec. 9, 1990; three brothers , Roy W. Jr., Charles and James Anderson; and four sisters , Elsie Marie Anderson, Minnie Harbaugh, Beulah Breakiron and Ethel Young. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Friday and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m., the hour of a funeral service in the funeral home with the Rev. David Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Normalville Cemetery.

ANGELO RAYMOND GARNER

Angelo Raymond Garner, 72, of South Greensburg, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 18, 1928, in South Greensburg, a son of the late Raymond and Lena Lentini Garner. Prior to his retirement, he had been the owner and operator of the Modern Barber Shop on South Main Street in Greensburg for approximately 50 years. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church and the A.M.S. Club, both of South Greensburg, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Garner. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marie Pirolo Garner; his adoring children, sons , Raymond and his wife, Karen B. Garner, of Jeannette and Ronald and his wife, Marsha Garner, of Greensburg, and a daughter, Tammy and her husband, James Tocco, of Greensburg; his loving grandchildren, Justin Garner, Jason Garner, Angela Tocco, and Patrick Garner; his devoted brothers and sisters , Phillip and his wife, Carmella Garner, of South Greensburg, Joseph and his wife, Edna Garner, of Greensburg, Margaret Long of Greensburg, Lucy Thomas of Baltimore, Md., Gloria and her husband, Vincent Piccolo, of Greensburg, and Linda and her husband, Stanley Dobies, of South Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg, with the Rev. Blane L. Resko, O.S.B., as celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Twin Valley Mausoleum, Delmont, with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 Honor Guard.

STUART G. GONGAWARE

Stuart G. Gongaware, 87, of Adamsburg, formerly of Penn Township, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born June 11, 1912, in Penn Township, a son of the late Samuel I. and Mary Anne Myers Gongaware. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Building Components in Murrysville. He was a member of the Brush Creek Lutheran Church and the Penn Township Senior Citizens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Widuckle Gongaware, in 1991; three brothers , Henry, William and David Gongaware; and two sisters , Cora Ashbaugh and Emma Lewis. He is survived by three sons , Wayne R. Gongaware of Manheim, Pa., Fred S. Gongaware and wife, Gigi, of Penn Township and Larry J. Gongaware and wife, Sue, of Ligonier; and four grandchildren, Ashley, Holly, Kara and Logan. Friends will be received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. William L. Hauser officiating. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery, Hempfield Township.

VIOLET M. (STOJAKOVICH) MARKO

Violet M. (Stojakovich) Marko, 80, of Monroeville, formerly of East Pittsburgh, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000. Beloved mother of Francis J., Theresa M. Shields, and Marian "Mimi" Marko-Eberle. mother -in-law of Mary Ellen, Tom Shields, and Jim Eberle. Grandmother of Shannan Shields-Contic, Sarah Marko, Megan and Marc Eberle. Great-grandmother of Abigail and Dennis Contic III. Sister of Mildred Merkovsky. Also nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Marko; and her parents, Rade and Mary (Mihalovich) Stojakovich. Friends received in the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., and Monday from 9 a.m. to noon. Services in the funeral home Monday at noon, followed by services in Christian Life Church, Seventh Street Extension and Forbes Road, Trafford, at 1 p.m.

E. MATHILDA SULLIVAN McSHEEHY

E. Mathilda Sullivan McSheehy, 88, of Ligonier, formerly of McKeesport, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, in St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late William and Lillian Busch Sullivan. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ligonier, and the Latrobe Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin H. McSheehy; a son, Melvin B. McSheehy; and eight brothers . She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen McSheehy Stulbarg of Greensburg; a daughter-in-law, Patricia McFadden McSheehy of McKeesport, Elizabeth Township; six grandchildren, Kay Kowalski and her husband, Don, of West Mifflin, Melvin McSheehy Jr. and his wife, Joell, of Monroeville, Brendan McSheehy and his wife, Missy, of Severna Park, Md., Brian McSheehy and his wife, Kim, of Coraopolis, John Paul "Jay" Stulbarg and Kristin Stulbarg, both of Greensburg; seven great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. Family will receive friends at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Blessing services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Trinity Church, Ligonier, with the Rev. Joseph P. Maddalena as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe. ELLIS L. McWILLIAMS

Ellis L. "Dutch" McWilliams, 86, of Trafford, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in the Woodhaven Care Center, Monroeville. He was born July 30, 1913, in Level Green, a son of the late William B. and Stella Glendenning McWilliams. Prior to retirement, he was a power house operator with Westinghouse Electric in Trafford. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Trafford, where he served as a trustee and elder, a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge #613 and the Syria Shrine Temple for 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Frank and Ralph McWilliams. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret Teitt McWilliams; a son, Charles W. and wife, Janet McWilliams, of Trafford; a granddaughter, Dana, and grandson, Charles E. McWilliams, both of Trafford; and a brother, Lewis McWilliams of Level Green. Friends will be received at the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME, 429 Duquesne Ave., Trafford, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Trafford. Interment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. F&AM Masonic Lodge #613 will hold services Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

GLEN ERRETT MOWRY JR.

Glen Errett Mowry Jr., 75, of Pearland, Texas , formerly of Irwin, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, in Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, Harris County, Texas . He was born May 16, 1924, in Irwin, a son of the late Glen Errett Sr. and Grace Bell Mowry. He was a graduate of Norwin High School. He was a retired carpenter and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II as a corporal. He was also a former member of the Irwin Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Grace Rosa Griffith Gearhart. He is survived by his second wife, Louise Pittser Mowry; a son, Glen Errett Mowry III and his wife, Kimberly, of Irwin; a stepson, Jim Hogue of Beaver; a stepdaughter, Barbara Putney of Pearland, Texas ; two grandchildren, Angela Marie Mowry and Glen Errett Mowry IV; a brother, Robert Mowry of Irwin; two half brothers , Gene Mowry of Pittsburgh and Samuel Gibson of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, in the Brown Cemetery, Saltlick Township, with the Rev. Charles Whipple officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant.

BENJAMIN C. SIMPSON

Benjamin C. Simpson, 94, of Mt. Pleasant RD6, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Aug. 20, 1905, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a son of the late Clarion James and Mary Jane Crosby Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A., and he was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for many years. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God and its Men's Bible Class. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Mildred Murtland; an infant son, John; two brothers , John and Frank Simpson; and five sisters , Bessie Sullen, Alice Lesseg, Edna Simpson, Margaret Simpson and Olive Busch. He is survived by his wife, Maude Ansell Simpson; three children, Mary Alice Millward and her husband, Clarence, of Mt. Pleasant RD6, Evelyn Kunkle and her husband, Ray, of Tarrs RD3, and Edward Simpson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Simpson was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Yost officiating. Interment will follow in Middle Presbyterian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.

CATHERINE RODENZ STUCHAL

Catherine Rodenz Stuchal, of Adamsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Peter and Mildred McWilliams Rodenz. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers , Michael, Paul and George Rodenz; and a sister, Ann King. She is survived by her husband, Clayton G. Stuchal Sr.; a daughter, Anna Marie Miller of Jeannette; and a son, Clayton G. Stuchal Jr. of Adamsburg. Also surviving are three brothers , John and Joseph Rodenz of Adamsburg and Nicholas Rodenz of Wendel; and a sister, Margaret Perillo of Lakewood, Calif. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. R. Bruce Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.

LILLIAN L. TEDROW

Lillian L. Tedrow, 83, of Greensburg, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at her home. She was born Oct. 11, 1916, in Loyalhanna, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances Belsan Kubat. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Greensburg, where she was active in the Altar Guild and had volunteered in the church nursery. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two infant brothers and 10 sisters , Anne Boehme, Mary Hacker, Emma Wellek, Rose Hoffman, Kathryn Winkler, Frances Hughes, Bertha Massimino, Agnes Cleveland, Helen Kubat and Pauline Breen. She is survived by her husband, Allen W. Tedrow; a son, Allen W. Tedrow Jr. and his wife, Dawn, of Youngwood; a daughter, Judy Humphrey and her husband, David, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Jessica L. Humphrey, Kathleen E. Tedrow and James A. Tedrow; and a sister, Josephine Scaffardi of Latrobe. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. E. Allen Scanlon and the Rev. Craig T. Hess co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorials may be placed with the First Lutheran Church, 246 S. Main St., Greensburg.
