RAYMOND L. PAVLICK SR.

Raymond L. Pavlick Sr., 65, of Crabtree, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born April 19, 1934, in Latrobe, a son of the late Joseph Pavlick Sr. and Mary Pavlick Long. Prior to his retirement, he was a roofer with Roofers & Water Proofers Local Union 37. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Pavlick Jr.; stepfather, George Long Jr.; stepbrother, James Long; and brother-in-law, Joseph McMahon Jr. and wife, Evelyn. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, LaVerne McMahon Pavlick; beloved children, son, Raymond Pavlick Jr., and daughter, Terri Hayden and husband, James Jr., all of Greensburg; beloved grandsons, Ryan and Joseph Hayden and Dylan Pavlick, who will deeply miss their Pap Pap Ray; a sister, Josephine Dumnich and husband, Frank, of Southwest Greensburg; stepsister, Louise Pishko and husband, Ted, of Feasterville; stepbrother, Robert Long of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Patricia Wood and husband, Don, of Crabtree; brother-in-law, Jack McMahon and wife, Phyllis, of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends were received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. Luke Policicchio, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Crabtree. Natale N. Pantalone, funeral director.

IRENE M. VALETTI
Irene M. Valetti, 88, of Jeannette, died Friday, March 17, 2000, in Baldock Health Care Centre, North Huntingdon. She was born Nov. 4, 1911, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Louis and Litizia DeMark Belfiglio. A member of Ascension Church, Jeannette, and its Senior Citizens organization, she was also a member of ISDA, a former member of the Jeannette Women's Club and was a former volunteer at Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis F. Valetti, in 1987; a son, David F. Valetti; a sister, Clara Thomas; and two brothers , Louis and Edward Belfiglio. Surviving are a son, L. Ronald Valetti and his wife, Jo Ann, of Greensburg; a daughter, Deborah A. Spark of Irwin; a sister, Mrs. Kitty Sullivan of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Ascension Church. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. The Ascension Senior Citizens will hold a rosary service Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

CHARLOTTE O. WEAVER

Charlotte O. Weaver, 93, formerly of Greensburg, died Friday, March 17, 2000, in Michigan. She was born in New York, July 28, 1906. She had been a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Weaver, to whom she was married for 69 years; and a son, Anthony Russ Weaver. She is survived by her son, Joseph R. Weaver of Florida; her daughter, Donna Fox of Michigan; three sisters ; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday in the First Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. James H. Nash officiating. Entombment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. The family has requested memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

LAWRENCE M. WETMILLER

Lawrence M. "Larry" Wetmiller, 40, of Mt. Oliver, on Friday, March 17, 2000. Beloved husband of Linda J. (Cancilla). Father of Larry Jr., Lauren and the late Brian. Son of Doris J. and the late Bert Wetmiller. Brother of Kay Yot, Pat Redlinger, Joan Mussomeli, Barbara Wilson, Ginger Volinsky, Michael, Susan Round, Audrey Schroder, Marianne Maloney, twin sister Beverly Kuhn, Richard and the late Butch. Also 34 nieces and nephews and 22 great-nieces and -nephews. Friends received Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at BEINHAUERS, 2630 W. Liberty Ave., (412) 531-4000. GENEVIEVE F. ZELLO

Genevieve F. Zello, 85, of Greensburg, died Friday, March 17, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born June 24, 1914, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Zello. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by Carnes Bakery and also Royal Pizza, both of Greensburg, and the Porcelier Glass Company of South Greensburg. She was a member of the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, and its Rosary Altar Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florence M. Zello, on Jan. 30, 2000; two brothers , Michael and Pete Zello; and a sister-in-law, Louise Zello. She is survived by five brothers , Henry Zello, Anthony and his wife, Concetta Zello, James and his wife, Charlotte Zello, Patsy and his wife, Helen Zello, and Joseph and his wife, Judy Zello, all of Greensburg; a sister, Mary and her husband, Kyle Duncan of Hopewell, Va.; a sister-in-law, Mary Zello of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends were received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, beginning Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, with the Rev. Leonard W. Stoviak as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Hempfield Township. The Rosary Altar Society will meet at the funeral home Sunday at 3 p.m. to pray the rosary.

ROSEMARY WALLACE BRUNO

Rosemary Wallace Bruno, 82, of Dunbar, died Saturday, March 18, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital. She was born April 22, 1917, in Lemont Furnace, a daughter of the late Oliver M. and Edna Brindle Wallace. Wife of the late Lawrence Anthony Bruno. Surviving are four daughters , Mrs. William (Esther) Watson, Laureen Malachin, and Mrs. George (Mary Pat) Pastors, all of Dunbar, and Mrs. Sturge (Regina) Hughes of Farmington; four grandchildren, Susan Cunningham, Michael Raymond, Jeff Butela, and Joellen Pastors; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Cunningham and Ryan Butela; two sisters , Leola Broderick of Uniontown and Patricia Myer of Millersville, Pa.; four brothers , Joseph and Robert Wallace of Uniontown, O.E. Wallace of Mt. Pleasant, and Regis Wallace of Cleveland, Ohio. Also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Ellen Watson; two sisters , Esther and Nelle Wallace; and two brothers , Phillip and Raymond Wallace. Friends will be received at the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Morning prayers will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father J. Edward McCullough as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral home Tuesday at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Aloysius Altar and Rosary Society or the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Ranch Road, Dunbar, PA 15431.

AUGUST CERINI

August "Babe" Cerini, 72, of Donora, died Saturday, March 18, 2000, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born in Donora, April 3, 1927, a son of the late Ernest and Oliva Sylvester Cerini. Mr. Cerini was the owner of Ernest Cerini Inc.-Harley-Davidson dealer, which his family started in Donora on May 20, 1920. He was also a World War II veteran, serving in the Air Force. Mr. Cerini was a graduate of Donora High School, class of 1945. He was a member of Ernest E. Jobes Post 212 American Legion, Donora, where he was a past commander and also past commander of the 25th District American Legion. Mr. Cerini was a Voyageur of Washington County Voiture #676, and past Chef DeGare and past Grande Chef DeGare duPa. He was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Motorcycle Dealers Association, member of Belle Vernon Lodge #643 F&AM, Valley of Pittsburgh Consistory, and also Syria Temple of Pittsburgh. Mr. Cerini was a member and past exalted ruler of Canonsburg Elks Lodge #846. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marie Brown Cerini; four sons and daughters -in-law, Ernest R. and Debbie Cerini of Scottdale, Roger and Carol Cerini of Orlando, Fla., Eric D. and Renee Cerini of Carroll Township, and Mark and Sandy Cerini of Monessen; and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie; and a sister, Madeline Korby. Friends were received Sunday at the JAMES A. RABE FUNERAL HOME INC., 701 Thompson Ave., Donora, and will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Barner, of New Hope Assembly of God Church, Elizabeth, officiating. Burial will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, where full military rites will be accorded by Ernest E. Jobes Post 212 American Legion. American Legion and 25th District services will be held at the funeral home Monday evening at 7:30, followed by Masonic services at 8 p.m.

EDITH M. (HALSTEAD) CURRY

Edith M. (Halstead) Curry, 72, of Latrobe RD1, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born July 27, 1927, in Carbon, a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Campbell) Halstead. She was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trauger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Curry, on Sept. 21, 1998; and a brother, Jeremiah Halstead. She is survived by two daughters , Mrs. Michael (Bonita) Sanders of La Mirada, Calif., and Mrs. Franklin (Deborah) Griffin of Latrobe RD1; a stepson, James Edward Curry and his wife, Saundra, of Scottdale; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers , Raymond Keller of Brunswick, Ohio, Robert Keller of Tampa, Fla., and Francis Keller of Ardara; a special friend, John Goldsworthy of Acme RD1; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment are private. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, RD3, Box 354, Latrobe, PA 15650. VIOLET DOUGHERTY

Violet "Vi" Dougherty, 83, of McKeesport, died Saturday, March 18, 2000, in the Riverside Nursing Center. She was born July 19, 1916, in Belle Vernon, a daughter of the late John and Emily Austin Beaumont. She was a homemaker. She formerly attended the Hungarian Reformed Church and was a member of its choir and ladies craft club. She was also an avid gardener. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Dougherty Sr. She is survived by five daughters , Joyce "Bonnie" Walczak of Irwin, Trudy Hitchens of Elizabeth Township, Sally Robinson of McKeesport, Patricia Maglicco of North Huntingdon and Kathy Ulokovic of McKeesport; two sons , Paul Dougherty Jr. of Yorktown, Va., and Kerry Dougherty of Atco, N.J.; a sister, Bertie McMullen of Madison, Ohio; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WILLIG FUNERAL HOME INC., 220 Ninth Ave., McKeesport, where service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Borsay officiating. Interment in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 700, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.

HARVEY F. HACKLEY JR.

Harvey F. Hackley Jr., 54, of Greensburg RD9, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at his residence. He was born March 24, 1945, in Jeannette, the son of the late Harvey F. Sr. and Geraldine Blank Hackley. He was an employee of Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co., and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Coddington Hackley; a sister, Peg Bonner and husband, Jack, of Cockeysville, Md.; and nieces, Suzanne and Karen. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. IRENE L. HAHN

Irene L. Hahn, 78, of Murrysville, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, in the Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. She was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Turtle Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Hahn, in 1988. She was a homemaker and a resident of Murrysville for 53 years. She was a charter member of the Calvary Lutheran Church of Murrysville. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Parker and her husband, Bruce, of Delmont; a son, Wayne E. Hahn and his wife, Patty, of Murrysville; four grandchildren, Lance and Lon Wilson, and Autumn and Jeremiah Hahn; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Lon Jr., Hannah and Seth Wilson. Friends will be received beginning Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville, where services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. J.R. Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park.

CHARLES H. HEMPEL

Charles H. Hempel, of Reynoldsville, Pa., formerly of Murrysville and White Valley, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Oakland. He was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Samuel L. and Laura Soles Hempel. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Municipality of Murrysville Public Works. He was a member of the Allens Mills United Methodist Church. He was past master of Forbes Trail Lodge F&AM #783 and a member of Hobah Lodge F&AM #276, and the Valley of Coudersport. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was a member of the American Legion Post #711, AMVETS Post #85 of White Valley, and the VFW of Blairsville. He was also an honorary member of the Murrysville Fire Department and a member of the White Valley Athletic Social Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters . He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nellie May Greene Hempel; three sons , Charles and wife, Terri, of Emlenton, Ronald and wife, Kim, of Brookville, and Gary Hempel of White Valley; two sisters , Laura and Frieda Hempel, both of Monroeville; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastors John and Ellen Bullock co-officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

MYRTLE M. GONGAWARE JOHNSON

Myrtle M. Gongaware Johnson, 92, of Irwin, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at home. She was born Nov. 23, 1907, in Irwin, a daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle Marsh Gongaware. She was a member of the Brush Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Irwin, where she was involved in numerous church activities. She was a 30-year volunteer at the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital and a member of the Thiel Women's Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry G. Johnson; and a sister, Margaret Shrum. She is survived by two daughters , Vivian Ferguson of Irwin and Phyllis Permar and her husband, Edward, of McMurray; three granddaughters, Sandy Werts of Minnesota, Andrea Frew of Monroeville and Jill Ferguson of Irwin; three grandsons, Michael Ferguson of Virginia and William and Scott Permar of Dormont; two great-grandsons, Peter and Timothy Werts; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Frew. She is also survived by two sisters , Lovena Lauffer of Greensburg and Sara Peterson of Ohio; and a brother, Walter Gongaware of Colorado. Also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Brush Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Irwin, with the Rev. William L. Hauser officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brush Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, 177 Brush Creek Road, Irwin, PA 15642.
