Charles Raymond Patterson, 73 of Waynesburg, PA died 8:45AM Sunday Oct. 12, 2003 at home. He was born March 25, 1930 in Kuhntown, PA He was the Son of the late George W. and Susie Wood Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a member of the Church of Christ in Waynesburg. He was also a Veteran having served with the U. S. Army. He worked for various construction companies and then went into partnership with his Brother, Robert and started the Patterson brothers Construction Co., staying in business for over 30 years. Charles D."Poppy" Powers, 58 of Mt. Morris, PA died at 9:00PM Saturday April 13, 2002 in Monongalia General Hosp.following a couragous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 7, 2002 in Pickins, W.Va. Mr. Powers attended the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God. He was a proud and Distinquished Veteran of the U.S. Army who served during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart and the Silver Spur. He was a self made Business man. He was famous for his Kindness, generous spirit, and his endless ability to love and forgive. He had the best Sunday morning chocolate Chip Cookies, Sausage Gravy and biscuits ever. He was the Son of Charles H. and Edna Quin Powers of Pickins, W.Va. and was the beloved child of the late Lester"Pappy" and Levi"Mammi" Flanagan. He was the Big Brother of Pammy Eye of Hendrix, W.Va. Adoring Husband of Lynnette "Nimi" Powers whom he married June 11, 1980. Loving Father of L.C. Powers, Melissa Jones, Debra Powers and #50 Semi Late. Charles W. Shriver, 73 of Waynesburg, PA died at 3:45AM Friday April 23, 2004 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home Waynesburg following a lengthy illness. He was born NOvember 4, 1930 in Center Twp., Greene Co., PA A Son of the late Wilbur and Genevieve Orndoff Shriver. MOst of his life was spent in the Kuhntown area. Mr. Shriver was a member of the Waynesburg Eagles #598, and the James Farrell American Legion Post #330 of Waynesburg. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served with the U. S. Army from 1952 to 1954. Mr.Shriver was an advid Fisherman and Hunter while his health permitted. He also coached softball fot the Eagles Softball Team. He worked for J & L Steel and retired from L.T.V. Steel in 1983 after 27 years. His Wife: Betty Loretta Wright Shriver whom he married April 12, 1952 survivies. April 2, 2002 at the Bialko's Rest home, Waynesburg following a lengthy illness. he was born March 1, 1914 to the late James Edward and Ruhame Rosalie Higgins Villers. Mr. Villers was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Waynesburg. He was a Veteran of W.W.II having served with the U.S. Army. He worked for Fox Auto in Waynesburg for 18 years as a Mechanic. Christine E. Holzworth, 55 of Waynesburg, PA died at 3:50PM on Wednesday March 24, 2004 in the Donnell House, Washington , PA She was born March 1, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA A Daughter of the late Larry and Jean Ross Aiken Mrs. Holzworth was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Waynesburg. Energetic and creative, Mrs. Holzworth was a Master Gardener, who also collected antiques, old farm implements and unique objects at auctions, garage sales and flea markets as a contrast to the multi-floral colors that enhanced the landscape of her family farmhouse. She also enjoyed hand quilting, applique, embroidery, knitting, sewing, decorating and was involved with arts and crafts for most of her adult life. But most of all she loved to teach special children and enjoy the company of her family and friends. She was employed with the Central Greene School District for 20 years. She was a Special Education Teacher who taught for 2 years at White ley Elementary School, 11 years at Margaret Bell Miller Middle School and the past 7 years at the Central Greene High School retiring in March of 2004. Surviving are her Husband: Barry L. Holzworth whom she married October 12, 1975 3 sons : Regis L. Holzworth of Steubenville, Ohio, Michael C. Holzworth of Washington , PA, and Casey L. Clarence E. Fox, 82 of Waynesburg, PA died 12:20PM on Friday May 31, 2002 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg following a lengthy illness. He was born March 29, 1920 in Wayne Twp., Greene Co. to the late Jesse and Pearl Moore Fox. Mr. Fox was a Veteran of W. W. II and the Korean War having served with the U.S. Army 101st Airborn Division 43rd Tank Batallion as an instructor having held the rank of Master Sergeant. Mr. Fox was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg. He worked 43 years for Columbia Gas as a Land Acquisitioner retiring in 1985. His Wife: Mildred (Millie) Kiger Fox whom he married Sept. 20, 1941 died February 2, 1994. Surviving are 1 Daughter: Marla Hueston of Kill Devil Hills, N.C. 1 Son: Rev. He worked at Central Greene School District in the maintenance department where he retired on November 2, 2001 after 34 years of service. Clarence L. (Weasel) Phillips, 82 of Waynesburg, PA died Saturday April 13, 2002 at 9:10 AM in the Greene Co. Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg He was born March 6, 1920 in Brave, PA to the Late Joseph R. and Alta Lantz Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a Veteran of W.W.II having served with the U.S. Army. He was a Life member of the V.F.W. Post #4793 and the D.A.V. #123 both of Waynesburg, PA He was also a member of the James Farrell American Legion Post #330 and the Moose Lodge #461 both of Waynesburg, PA Mr. Phillips belonged to the Operators Engineers and the Teamsters. He worked for several years for Joyce Western Corp. as a Truck Driver in pipeline construction retiring in 1984. Clarence "Fooz"/"Pappy" Wilson Jr. 73 of Tollgate Run Waynesburg, PA died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at home following a 4 month illness. He was born Feb. 14, 1930 in Fayette Co., PA He was the Son of the late Joseph Clarence and Frances Rae Knight Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Oakview United Methodist Church in Waynesburg. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #461 in Waynesburg. He served 8 years in the U. S. Airforce as a Radar Specialist having over 1000 hours of flight service. Mr. Wilson worked for several years as a Brakeman for Conrail. He then worked in the Maintenance Dept. for several years at the Curry Memorial Home in Waynesburg retiring in 1992. He enjoyed watching all sports. Surviving are his Wife: Margaret "Peg" Morris Wilson whom he married August 20, 1966. She was born April 2, 1917 in Brave, PA She is the DAughter of the late William Layton and Artie Main Phillips. Clarice spent her entire life in Greene Co. where she was a member of the Pursley Baptist Church. While in Junior High and High School she enjoyed playing softball. From 1962 to 1973 she worked as a Sales Person for Rapports in Waynesburg, in 1973 she purchased Rapports now know as Carol Lee Shop, retiring in 1990. Clark Orndorff and Mary Lou(Litman)Orndorff of Waynesburg, PA Clarketta was a member of the Fairall U.M.C. She was a Graduate of WaynesburgCentral High School, where she was a member of the Marching Band, Concert Band, and the stage Band. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls, the National honor Society and the East Franklin Sew-N-Sews 4-H Club. She was a 4 year letterman in track, 3 years in Basketball, and 1 year in Volleyball. She also played Softball. She still holds the school record in shotputClarketta attended Waynesburg College and the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music.She was Past Pres.Waynesburg Wrestling Asso., and Past officer of the Waynesburg Football Association. She was also Past Pres. of Local Union #2341.She was a shift Lieut.at SCI Waynesburg. She was also the former training Lieut., Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and the Self Defense instructor all for SCI Waynesburg.In addition to her mother she is survived by her Husband: David Simpson whom she married May 26, 19792 sons : Wesley Simpson and Lanfer Simpson both of Dilliner, PA 2 sisters : Charlotte Dinsmore of Jefferson , Md., and Christina O. Clayton K. Logan, 77 of 376 1/2 South Richhill St. Waynesburg, PA died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002 at his home following a lengthy illness. HE was the Son of the late John and Nola (Steele) Logan. He was born July 25, 1924 in WEst Monterey, PA Mr. Logan was a Methodist by Faith. He was a Veteran of W.W.II having served with the U.S. Army 99th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge. While his health permitted he was an advid Hunter and Fisherman. He worked for 40 years as an Auto salesman having worked for Mr.Post, Mr. Parkinson and Mr. Haney. Surviving is his Wife of 59 years Mary Jane Corwin Logan. Also surviving are 1 Son: Robert Logan at Home 3 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren 1 Sister: Ada Morris of Sligo, PA Deceased: 1 Daughter: Margaret A. David William Clark, 80 of Mt. Morris, PA died 12:21AM Saturday Feb. 9, 2002 at the Greene Co. Memorial Hosp. He was born Nov. 24, 1921 to the late Austin Edward and Mary Blanche Jackson Clark. Mr. Clark was a Protestant by Faith. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army during W.W.II having served in Australia and the Phillipines as an Airplane Mechanic. Mr. Clark was the oldest member of the James T. Maxon American Legion Post #990 of Mt. Morris. and was also a member of the Mt. Morris Senior Citizens. He worked for 38 1/2 years for Humphrey #7 Coal Mine retiring in 1980. He belonged to Local #1058. His Wife: Edna Rush Clark whom he married December 25, 1940 survives. Also surviving are 1 Sister: Virginia Richards of Morgantown, W.Va. and Several Nieces and Nephews. He was born March 8, 1923 in Waynesburg, PA He was a Son of the late D.F. Cumberledge and Serena Cross Cumberledge.Mr. Cumberledge was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Local #6310 . He worked for Piatt Machinery in Washington , PA for several years. He then went to work for Duquesne Light Coal Co. as a welder for several years retiring 1986. His Wife: Ellen Jean Dunn Cumberledge whom he married August 28, 1947 died November 13, 1977. Mr. Kennedy was a member of the First United Meth. Church of Waynesburg He was a Veteran of the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army during W.W.II.He was a member of the Waynesburg Elks Lodge #757 and the Waynesburg Moose Lodge #461.He was a member and Past Commander of the James Maxon American Legion Post #992 of Mt. Morris, PA He belonged to several Teacher associations and coaching associations.Mt. Kennedy was inducted into the PA Coaches Hall of Fame in 1992.He was a Graduate of Waynesburg College class of 1935. He worked on his Masters at W.V. Univ. over sv. years while teaching, earning his Masters in Education in 1968.He taught at Perry Elementary School, Mt.
