Beatrice Baker Brookover, 87 of Waynesburg, PA died at 2:10PM Wednesday August 18, 2004 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home Waynesburg. She was born December 28, 1916 in Oak Forest, Greene Co., PA A Daughter of the late Francis and Lucy Rush Baker. Mrs. Brookover was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in West Waynesburg. She had worked for 17 1/2 years for Waynesburg College at Thayer Hall in the Housekeeping Dept. Her Husband: G. Darrel Brookover whom she married October 27, 1941 died March 2, 1984 Surviving are 2 daughters : Carol Brookover and Connie Henderson both of Waynesburg, PA 1 Son: John Brookover of Brave, PA 6 Grandchildren: John W. Henderson, Scott Henderson, Sherry Henderson, Douglas Henderson, Tammy Cumberledge, and Kevin Moore. 7 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews She was the last of her immediate family Deceased: 1 Daughter: Nancy K. Beatrice H. Russell, 88, 1234 Willow Road Waynesburg, PA died 11:00PM Saturday, September 21, 2002 at the Greene Co. Memorial Hospital after being seriously ill for the past 3 weeks. She was born February 5, 1914 in Kirby, PA to the late Frederick V. and Olive Irene Rogers Headley. Mrs. Russell was a member of the former Kirby United Methodist Church and now belongs to the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the White ley Twp. Farm Women, United Methodist Women, and the former Kirby Grange. While her health permitted she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, bird watching, flowers, gardening and cooking. She was a Homemaker. Her Husband: Robert Dale Russell died March 28, 1987 Surviving are 2 sisters : Kathryn H. Graham of Waynesburg, PA and Helen H. Mason of Sulfur, Louisiana . Also surviving is Robert D. Bernice L. Wright, 95 of 750 Huffman St. Waynesburg, PA died at 4:30AM Tuesday September 17, 2002 at home. She had been in her usual health and had been ill the past 2 months. She was born June 25, 1907 in Brock, PA to the late George Franklin and Sarah Connor Headley.Mrs. Wright was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesburg. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Daughter of Ruth Sunday School Class, The Quilters Group of the Church and the Church Choir. She was also a member of the Rebekka Lodge, James Farrell American Legion Post #330 Womens Aux., and the Women of I.O.O.F. 3 Links. She was a Graduate of Waynesburg High School Class of 1929. She was a Homemaker. Her Husband: R. Clovis Wright whom she married December 19, 1928 died November 24, 1978. Surviving are 3 daughters : Sheila Black of Avella, PA, Kathy Perez of Austin, Texas , Susie Nassis of Waynesville, N.C. 4 sons : Richard L. Wright of Houston, Texas , William E. Wright of Waynesburg, PA, Gerald C. Wright of Barberton, Ohio, and P.J. Wright of Bethel Park, PA 17 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews Mrs. Wright was the last of her immediate family. Bertha J. Phillips, 96 of Spraggs, PA died at 11:35PM Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the Monongalia General Hosp. Morgantown, W.Va. following a lengthy illness. She was born July 15, 1906 in Brock, PA . A Daughter of the late Melvin Lindsey and Sarah Jane Woods Jones. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Valley Chapel United Mehtodist Church. Mrs. Phillips graduated from Waynesburg Normal school with a degree in education. She was a retired elementary school teacher who had taught in a one room school and she was a Homemaker. Her Husband: Acie Leo Phillips died February 28, 1986. Surviving are 2 sons : Marvin G. Phillips of Waynesburg, PA and James Phillips of Spraggs, PA 5 Grandchildren: Mindy Heidekat, April Ricci, Joy Angelo, Mike Phillips and Tyrone Phillips 11 Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews She was the last of her immediate family. Betty Lea Rockwell-Raber, 78 of 127 Ted Wilson Dr. Core, W.Va. died at 12:00PM Sunday, June 2, 2002 at home. She had been in her usual health and death was due to a massive heart attack. Bradley K. Miller, 44 of 300 Center Ave. Waynesburg, PA formerly of sherman Ave. Waynesburg died at 7:20 PM Sunday April 7, 2002 at the Beverly Health Care in Waynesburg. He was born September 14, 1957 to the late James Lee and Lizzie Belle Vandruff Miller. In his youth Bradley worked at the former Bryan's Dairy in Waynesburg. He later worked for Accurate Brass in Brave, PA while his health permitted. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends. He is survived by 1 Brother: Nelson L. Brian Lee Jenkins, 33 of Dilliner, Pa died on Sunday, May 9, 2004 in an Auto accident. Byron M. Shultz, 47 of 395 Flowers St. Waynesburg, PA died at 10:40P.M. Sunday June 9, 2002 at the Ruby Memorial Hosp. in Morgantown, W.Va. following a brief illness. He was born APril 9, 1955 to the late George Morris (Baldy) Shultz and Norma Webb Shultz Burnette. Byron was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church in Washington , PA He had held several jobs through out his life most recently having worked for Norge Village Laundromat and as a driver for Waynesburg Floral Co. Surviving are his Wife: Diane Smith Shultz whom he married December 3, 1994 1 Daughter: Sydney Kay Shultz at home 2 sisters : Cheryl Lohr and Desetta Palmer both of Waynesburg, PA At the request of the deceased thre will be no public visitation. There will be a public memorial service held at 7:00PM Wednesday June 19, 2002 at the First Baptist Church 303 West High St. Waynesburg, PA Rev. Carol Visser and Pastor Duane Wolfe officiating. Carl Irwin Johnston, 78 of 124 Knob Hill Road died at 8:40AM Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 at the Rolling Meadows N.H. in Waynesburg He was Born Sept. 24, 1924 in Center Twp., Greene Co. to the late Harrison M. and Mary Alberta Breese Johnston. Mr. Johnston was a member of the 1st United Meth. Church of Waynesburg.Mr. Johnston was a 1943 Graduate of Center Twp. High School. He was a Veteran of W.W.II having served with the U.S. Army. He received the purple heart during the Battle of the Bulge, the W.W.II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.As an elected District delegate, he was on the board of Milk Marketing, serving as treasurer for sv. years. He was a member of the National Milk Producers Federation, the National U.D.I.A., National Dairy Council, with the Nutrition Research & Education Branch. The American Dairy Assoc., and the former DRINC chairman. He was a full time Dairy farmer until 1985. He then worked as a salesman for S. White 's sons Monument Co. from 1986 until his retirement in Dec. of 1994.Surviving are his Wife: Joyce Moore Johnston whom he married SEpt. 24, 1946.Also survivng are 2 daughters : Carlotta Whyte of Waynesburg, PA and Linda Olczak of Upper St. Clair, PA 6 Grandchildren: Christy Orndorff, Cliff D. Chad Allen Seybold, 21 of Waynesburg died at 2:15AM Thursday, November 18, 2004 from injuries received in an Automobile accident.He was born June 10, 1983 in Morgantown, WV. A Son of Harry W. Seybold Jr. and Sandra Hawk Seybold of Waynesburg. Chad was a 2002 Waynesburg Central H.S. Graduate. He was a 4 year starter for Waynesburg Centrals wrestling team where he earned several honors.His Freshman year he placed 3rd at 119 pound weight class in the P.I.A.A. wrestling Championships and in his Senior year he placed 2nd. in the P.I.A.A. Championships at 130 pound weight class.He compiled a 121-25-0 record and was a 2 time W.P.I.A.L. Champion.Chad competed in the Pitts. Wrestling Classic and captured a gold medal in the Powerade Christmas Tournament. He also wrestled at Morrisville College in New YorkHe worked part time for both Don Shriver Video Drain Service and K & R Trucking. Member of the Loyal Order of Moose#461 of Waynesburg. He worked fcr C&P Telephone in Washington D.C. in management. After moving back to Greene Co. he worked as an electrician for Cumberland Coal Co. He was born Nov. 3, 1901 to the late Delbert and Jennie Scott Corwin. He spent his entire life in Greene Co. Mr. Corwin was a member of the Washington St. United Methodist Church. He had worked for 25 years at Nemacolin Coal Mine and later worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Carnegie Natural Gas Co. for 23 1/2 years retiring in 1966. Mr Kerr was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #66. He was a sports enthusias and enjoyed Baseball and Golf. He was also and avid NASCAR Fan. He worked for several construction companies. He also worked for Emerald Coal MIne in Waynesburg for 10 years. He owned and operated Greene Co. Beer Distributor from June 1988 to Nov. 2001. Mr Kerr was currently a Superintendent for Mashuda Corp. His Wife : Christine Elza Kerr whom he married Dec. 10, 1966 survives. Also surviving are 1 Daughter: Angela R. Kerr of Carmichaels, PA 1 Son: Justin C.
