Iona Kennedy Martin, 79 of Waynesburg, PA 15370 died at 1:30PM Friday Jan. 2, 2004 at home following a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 11, 1924 in Wadestown, W.Va. A Daughter of the late James Franklin and Elizabeth Reed Kennedy. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Church of Christ of Waynesburg, PA She was a Graduate of Clay Battelle High School class of 1943. She was a leader for 24 years of the 4H Sew and Sew Club in Waynesburg. Mrs. Martin enjoyed Sewing and needle work and she was a Homemaker. Her Husband: Charles J. Martin whom she married September 1, 1946 survives. Also Surviving are 2 daughters : Mona C.Martin of Waynesburg and Melissa Carty of Chambersburg, PA 2 sons : Robert C. Martin of Waynesburg and David L. Martin of Holbrook, PA 4 Grandchildren: Amy E. Martin, Kristen A. Martin, Blake C. Martin-Carty, and SaraJane E. Irene O. DOnoughe, 80 of Westmoreland Manor Greensburg, Pa died at 4:00AM Monday, October 18, 2004 at the Select Special Hospital in Greensburg, PA She was born July 5, 1924 in Blacksville, WV. She was a Daughter of the late Harry David Owen and Ada Constance Wood Owen. Ms Donoughe was a member of the Washington United Methodist Church in Washington , PA She worked for several years as a nurse at the Torrance State Hospital in Torrance, PA Surviving are 2 sisters : Geneva O. Kennedy of Ligonier, PA and Dorothy Mae Owen of Washington , PA Several Nieces and Nephews Deceased: 1 Sister: Helen Wood Blatchley 3 brothers : Ensel "Kidder" Owen, Denzel G. "Dig" Owen, and Donald "Jack" Owen At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation or services. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Irene Sturm Phillips, 83 of Waynesburg, PA died at 7:30 AM Tuesday July 8, 2003 at the Ruby Memorial Hosp. Morgantown, W.Va. She was born Oct. 7, 1919 in Mannington, W.Va. She was the Daughter of the late William Morris Sturm and Hazel Jean Baker Sturm. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Washington St. United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the East Franklin Grange #1709 and was a 7th degree member of the Pamona Grange. Irene was a member of the AARP and the Waynesburg Senior Citizens. She also did Volunteer work for the Cancer Society. For 27 years she worked for Jesse L. Ross Drug Store in Waynesburg as well as working at various other places. Her Husband: James Osborn Phillips whom she married September 19, 1938 died September 5, 1973. Isabel J. Zimmerman, 74 of Waynesburg, PA died at 3:30AM Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004 in the Greene Co.Memo. Hosp. Waynesburg following a lengthy illness. She was born August 23, 1929 in Waynesburg a Daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Eaton McDonald. Mrs. Zimmerman lived her entire life in Greene Co. where she was a member of the Washington St. United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Lady Greene Rebekka Lodge in Waynesburg and was a member of the Ladies Columbia GASCO Club. She worked for several years at the G.C.Murphy Co. in Waynesburg and later worked for Greenway Manufacturing in Waynesburg as a seamstress. She was the former President of the Union. She was also a Homemaker. Surviving are her Husband: Stanford "Zip" Zimmerman whom she married March 10, 1952. Also Surviving are 2 daughters : Nancy Ketchem of Waynesburg, PA, and Joyce Smith of Roanoke, Va. 4 sons : Blair Zimmerman, Gary Zimmerman, and Chuck Zimmerman all of Waynesburg, PA, and Scott Zimmerman of Ft. J. Clark Orndorff, 76 of 108 Orndorff Road Waynesburg, PA died at 5:15 PM Monday August 25, 2003 at home from injuries received from a tractor accident. He was born April 21, 1927 in Franklin Twp, Greene Co.. He was the Son of the late Charles B. and Marion Huffman Orndorff. Mr. Orndorff was born and reared in the house that he still lived in. He was a member of the Oakview United Methodist Church, and a former member of the PA Equipment Dealers Associaition. He was Partners with his Dad in the Charles B.Orndorff and Son Belgian Horses until his Dads death when two of his children took over the business. He owned and operated Orndorff Farm Equipment from 1950 until his death. He enjoyed bush hogging and keeping the farm clean. He is survvied by his Wife: Mary Lou Litman Orndorff whom he married July 3, 1948. Also surviving are 3 daughters : Charlotte Dinsmore of Jefferson , Maryland, Christina O. James L. Bradley, 73 of 215 Antill Hill Road New Freeport, PA died at 5:00PM Monday Dec. 30, 2002 at home. He was the Son of the late William and Agnes Whipkey Bradley. He was born on November 2, 1929 in Wheeling, W.Va. Mr. Bradley was a member of St Ann Roman Catholic Church in Waynesburg. He worked for Penn Dot for 30 years retiring in 1992. His Wife: Maryjane Purtell Bradley whom he married November 21, 1953 died March 6, 1983. Surviving are 2 daughters : Susan Sasso of Hackettstown, N.J. and Sharon Velez of Lorain, Ohio 2 sons : James L. Bradley Jr. of Holbrook, PA and Kenneth W. James L. Edgar, 78of Waynesburg, PA died at 9:10 AM on Monday Feb.23, 2004 at home following a 3 month illness. He was born February 5, 1926 in Morgan Twp., Greene Co. A Son of the late Melvin L. and Cassie Shriver Edgar. Mr. Edgar spent his entire life in Greene Co., where he was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lippencott for 49 years. Presently he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bentleyville, PA Mr Edgar was a Graduate of Jefferson High School class of 1947 and Veteran of W.W.II having served with the U. S. Army. Mr. Edgar was also a member of the American Baptist Men of PA and Delaware. He was President of the American Baptist Men Ten Mile Association. He was also an active member at the Waynesburg Senior Center. During his life he worked for Agway in Waynesburg for 37 years having held various position including manager. Surviving are his Wife: Shirley Minnear Edgar whom he married August 22, 1953 Also Surviving are 3 daughters : Karen Foley of Mt. James H. Ely, 76 of Waynesburg, PA died 9:00AM Saturday May 17, 2003 at home. He was born Jan. 30, 1927 in Sycamore, PA He was the son of the late Clarence W. and Muriel Ewart Ely. Mr. Ely was a career military man having served both in the Korean War and the Vietnam War, where he did 2 tours of duty. He retired from the military as a Staff Sergant in 1973. While in the service he received many different medals some of which were 3 Bronze Stars and the National Defense Medal with and Oak Leaf Cluster. Following his military career he worked as a coal miner for 5 years in the Nemacolin Coal Mine. He was a member of the Waynesburg Eagles Lodge #598, the James Farrell American Legion Post #330 and the V.F.W. James Robert Johnston Sr.71 of Sycamore, died Wed. May 19, 2004 at 9:45PM at home. He was born Feb. 27, 1933 in Nineveh. A Son of the late James Lindsey and Bernice Kelley Johnston. Mr. Johnston was a member of the Nineveh Meth. Church. He was well known as a CountryMusic guitar and fiddle player with musicians known on the W.W.VA Wheeling Jamboree and with some of the stars of the Grand Ole Opry. He also played for several of the local square dance bands. He was Past Commander of the James Farrell Am Legion Post #330 of Waynesburg and a member of the Waynesburg Elks Lodge #757.He was a former member of the D.A.V. #123 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #461 both of Waynesburg He was a Life member of the PA Hunting and Fishing Association. He also belonged to the NRA.He worked on the family farm in Nineveh in his younger years.He then worked as an electrician and lineman for the former West Penn Power for 42 years where he started as a laborer and retired Dec. 1, 1993 as Foreman of Operations.Surviving are his Wife: Margaret Tharp Johnston whom he married Sept. 29, 1951 3 daughters : Dr. Carol M. James "Jim" Edward Temple, 78, of Waynesburg, PA died at 5:20PM Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Waynesburg. He was born July 31, 1924 in Greene Twp., Greene Co., PA He was the Son of the late Harry L. and Ethel Mae Kiger Temple.Mr. Temple spent his entire life in Greene Co. He was a Veteran of W.W.II having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the D.A.V. #123 of Waynesburg, PA He worked for Keenan Mobil Home Sales in Washington , PA for several years and then worked for Waynesburg Feed Mill for several years. His Wife: Linda Lou Tucker Temple whom he married April 16, 1973 survives. James V. Watson, 84 of Waynesburg, PA died at 6:35 AM Friday, October 29, 2004 in the Beverly Health Care Waynesburg, PA He was born June 4, 1920 in Merrittstown, PA A Son of the late Samuel Herman Watson and Mary Noakes Watson. Mr. Watson was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church where he was a former Trustee. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and fly tying. Mr. Watson was a former coal miner having worked at several mines in Greene Co. In 1959 he started working as a Policeman for Waynesburg Boro. In 1961 he became Chief of Police and served as Chief from 1961 to 1979 when he retired. Surviving are his Wife: Dora E. Durbin Watson whom he married September 7, 1946 Also Surviving are 2 sons : James V. Watson Jr. of Reedsville, WV. and Samuel T. Watson of Waynesburg, PA 6 Grandchildren: James V. Mrs. Curtis was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Washington , PA She was also a member of the Al-Mon-O Air Stream Unit. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a Homemaker Her Husband: William F. Jeannette J. Husk, 92 of Waynesburg, PA died at 9:00AM Sunday, APril 18, 2004 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg. SHe was born Jan 2, 1912 in Springhill Twp., Greene Co. A Daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Caldwell Miller. Mrs. Husk was a member of the Pursley Baptist Church in Oak Forest. Where she was a member of the Missionary Society and was in charge of the Cradle Roll at the Church. She was a volunteer at the Cornerstone Genealogical Society and the Warrior Trail Association. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, sewing, quilting, crafts, birdwatching and bee keeping. She also was an reading tutor in the Adult reading program. With her Husband she owned and operated the Husks Service Station from 1951 to 1968 and the Husks Auction Barn from 1968 to 1975. Her Husband: Ira L. "Jack" Husk whom she married April 14, 1936 died October 4, 1975. Surviving are 1 Daughter: Joetta Husk-Hoy of Waynesburg, PA 1 Son: Kenneth W. Jeffrey M. Baremore, 38 of Leesburg, Va. died at 11:00PM Saturday August 2, 2003 unexpectantly at home. He was born October 22, 1964 in Morgantown, W.Va. He was the Son of the late Jack Baremore and Jeanne Mary Cordray Brennen. Mr. Baremore was a Volunteer for the Special Olympics and for Social Services for the Elderly. He was a member of the National Alliance for Mental Illness. Mr. Baremore worked for Loudoun County as a Rehabilitation Counselor, working with disadvantaged youth. He never married. He is survived by 3 Great Aunts: Lena Fetty of Fairmont, W.Va., Doris Westwood Fisher of Morgantown, W.Va., and Annabelle Fetty of Lost Creek, W.Va. His Girl Friend: Vienna Nightingdale of Leesburg, Va.
