Nettie G. (Gans) Spangler
Nettie G. (Gans) Spangler, age 95, of Orefield PA, died Tuesday, December 24, 2002 in the home of her daughter Barbara S. Hoellen, with whom she resided. She was the widow of the late Harry F. Spangler.

Born in Philadelphia PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna C. (Regeczy) Gans. She was a Secretary for the Bell Telephone Company in Philadelphia for 12 years before retiring in 1937. She also played professional baseball, touring the U.S. and Japan in league play. She was of the Catholic Faith.

She is survived by her Daughter, Barbara S. Hoellen, with whom she resided; Son, Harry Stephen Spangler of Orlando FL; and 3 Grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2002 in the Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn PA. There are no Calling Hours. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn PA. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksville PA.

Peter J. Slifer
Peter J. Slifer, age 21, of 5960 Powder Horn Court, New Tripoli PA, died Sunday, October 15, 2000 in Lynn Twp. PA as the result of an automobile accident.

Born September 21, 1979 in Allentown PA, he was the son of Richard A. and Paulinda M. (Hausman) Slifer, with whom he resided. He was a Chef for The Aspen Inn in Bethlehem since June 2000. He was a member of the Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli PA. He was a 1998 Graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School in New Tripoli where he played on the Football Team as Defensive Tackle and was a member of the 1995 and 1997 District 11 Championship Teams. He Graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence RI in May 2000 with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts. He was also a member of the Johnson & Wales University Alumni Association.

He is survived by his Parents; Sister, Melissa A. Slifer at home; Maternal Grandparents, Alton M. and Carole J. (Wescoe) Hausman of Schnecksville; Paternal Grandparents, Raymond 0. and Olga J. (Zulkowski) Slifer of Quakertown PA. He was predeceased in death by his Grandmother, Pauline N. (Hartline) Hausman.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2000 In the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Rt 309, Schnecksville PA. Calling Hour will be 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Union Church Cemetery, Neffs PA.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to the Northwestern Lehigh Stadium Project c/o the Funeral Home, P.O. Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.

Paul V. Snyder
Paul V. Snyder, age 74, of Schnecksville PA, died Friday, January 18, 2002 in his home. He was the Husband of Elaine E. (Gerber) Snyder. The couple celebrated their 46th Wedding Anniversary last July.

Born in Bowmanstown PA, he was the Son of the late Preston V. and Alice S. (Billig) Snyder. He was Manager of Product Development and Design Engineering for General Electric in Allentown and Black & Decker in Bridgeport CN for 30 years before retiring in 1985. He was awarded 22 patents from the company. He was a Member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, White hall PA where he Co-Chaired the Building Fund Campaign, served on the Church Council for several terms and was a member of the Executive Building Committee. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II as an Aviation Electricians Mate, Second Class Petty Officer. He was a Member of the Delhigh Power Squadron (Boating & Navigation Courses). He completed all courses of the United States Power Squadron and taught Junior Navigation and Celestial Navigation courses for several years. He Graduated from Bliss Electrical School in Tacoma Park MD and Clarkson University in 1956 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

He is survived by his Wife; Daughter, Gail S., wife of George Kopf of Naperville IL, Sharon K. Breslin of Sicklerville NJ and Judy L., wife of Michael Barnes of Pen Argyl PA; 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Granddaughters.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2002 in the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, White hall. Family and Friends may call 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Monday evening in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA and 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in the Church. The Reverend Michael J. Bodnyk officiating. Interment in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown PA.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Eastern Pennsylvania c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.

Robert C. 'Slip' Schuller
Robert C. Schuller, age 58, of ManorCare Health Services, Bethlehem PA, formerly of Hellertown PA, died Saturday, September 2, 2000 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, Bethlehem PA.

Born August 16, 1942 in Bethlehem PA, he was the son of Charles Angeline (Horvath) Schuller, of Hellertown PA. He was a Laborer in the Beam Yard of the Bethlehem Steel for 32 years retiring in 1994. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Hellertown PA. He was Shop Steward of the United Steel Workers of America Local Union 2599 and a Member of Tri-Boro Sportsman Club in Northampton, The Steel City Gun Club, The Dewey Fire Company, Tammany Democratic Association and USW Tri Local Pensioners.

He is survived by his Parents; daughters , Jacqueline A. George of Hellertown PA and Vicki L. Stelzer of Hellertown PA; Sister, Nancy Benner of Bethlehem PA and 2 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 9:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2000 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown PA. Calling Hours will be 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

In lieu of flowers send memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (MSF), 6350 North Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale FL 33309.

Richard C. "Dick" Schadler
Richard C. "Dick" Schadler, age 61, of 5620 Wynnewood Drive, Laurys Station PA, died Monday, February 05, 2001 in North White hall Township. He was the Husband of Linda M. (Laub) Schadler. The couple celebrated their 32nd Wedding Anniversary this past June 29th.

Born May 11, 1939 in Emmaus PA, he was the Son of Beulah M. (Reinhard) Schadler of Catasauqua and the late Charles G. Schadler. He was an Auxiliary Worker for McGinley Mills in Phillipsburg NJ for the last 5 years. Prior to that, he worked as a clothing examiner at the former Greif Company in Allentown for 30 years. He was a Member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in White hall PA. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during peacetime. He also was a former Volunteer with the North Parkland Athletic Association for 24 years as a coordinator for the intramural basketball teams and 19 years he assisted with the football program.

He is survived by his Wife and mother ; Daughter, Vickie Lynne Schadler at home; brothers , Clyde P. Schadler of Catasauqua PA and Roy D. Schadler of Catasauqua PA; and Sister, Barbara J. Beehrle of Allentown PA.

Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 09, 2001 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA. Calling Hours will be 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Funeral Home. Interment at Arlington Memorial Park, White hall PA.

Raymond E. Slifer
Raymond E. Slifer, age 72, of Nemeth Road, Coopersburg PA, died Monday, November 11, 2002 at the St. Luke's Hospital, Quakertown PA. He was the Husband of Charlotte A. (Elliott) Slifer. The couple celebrated their 19th Wedding Anniversary this past July. He was also the Widower of the late Joyce M. (Mindler)Slifer.

Born in Quakertown PA, he was the son of Harvey C. Slifer of Richlandtown and the late Viola A. (DeMuth) Slifer. He worked in the Shipping Department of the former Eagle Shirt Co., Quakertown PA for 30 years until retiring in 1992. He also worked Part-Time for Atrium, Quakertown from 1995-1999. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He was a Member of the New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lower Saucon Township PA.

He is survived by his Wife and Father ; Son, Jay R. Slifer at home; Step Son, David K. Long of Quakertown PA; Step Daughter, Tina L. Long of Allentown PA; brothers , Harvey Slifer Jr of Lehighton PA and Durell Slifer of Richlandtown PA; sisters , Beatrice Weaver of Richlandtown PA and Alvona Meintus of Port Charlotte FL; and 6 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2002 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and Friends may call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Funeral Home. Interment in Springfield Church of The Brethren Cemetery, Coopersburg PA.

Ruth E. (Blosser) Skrabut
Ruth E. (Blosser) Skrabut, age 78, of 29th Street, Allentown PA, formerly of Port Charlotte, FL and Sewickley PA, died Sunday, February 23, 2003 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown PA. She was the Wife of Anthony R. Skrabut. The couple celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary this past October.

Born in Ambridge PA, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Elsie (Peterson) Blosser. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She is survived by her Husband; Daughter, Linda S. Ruprecht of New Tripoli PA; 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. She is predeceased by her Son, Russell L. Skrabut, 1982.

Funeral Services and Interment will be Private and at the convenience of the Family. There are no Calling Hours. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksville PA.

Roy H. Steckel, Sr.
Roy H. Steckel, Sr., age 81, of South Cedarbrook Road, Allentown PA, formerly of Schnecksville PA, died Monday, January 27, 2003 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township PA. He was the Widower of the late Dorothy J. (Schwoyer) Steckel.

Born in Schnecksville PA, he was the son of the late Erwin J. and Emma T. (Resh) Steckel. He was a Salesman and Mechanic for the former C.J. Wonsidler Bros. (Farm Equipment) in New Tripoli PA for 10 years before retiring in 1991. Prior to that, he worked in the same capacity for the former H.W. Grammes & sons Farm Equipment in Orefield for 20 years. He was a Member of the Union United Church of Christ, Neffs PA. He was also a Member of the Jordan Lodge # 192, I.O.O.F., Schnecksville PA.

He is survived by his daughters , Bonita L. Weaver of Slatington PA, Linda A., wife of Russell L. Bowers of Germansville PA and Beverly A., wife of Donald L. Rex of Germansville PA; Sister, Mollie, wife of David Rex of Orefield PA and Eleanor Zellner of Slatington PA; 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. He is predeceased by his Son, Roy H. Steckel, Jr., 1993.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA. Family and Friends may call 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Funeral Home. The Reverend Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Interment in Union Church Cemetery, Neffs PA.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Union U.C.C. Memorial Fund c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.

R. John Smith
R. John Smith, age 53, of Neffs PA, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000 in his residence. He was the husband of Debra E. (Werley) Smith. The couple celebrated their 17th Wedding Anniversary last August 28th.

Born January 26, 1948 in Allentown PA, he was the son of Francis P. (Bittner) Smith Stumpf of Neffs and the late Wilmit R. Smith. He was a Truck Driver for Eastern Industries in Wescosville for the last 3 years. Prior to that, he worked for George Husack Trucking of Schnecksville, MTS in Northampton and Getty Oil Company in Macungie. His Accomplishments and Memberships include: United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War; Life Member, Past President and former Assistant Chief for Neffs Volunteer Fire Company and Member of American Legion Post #16, Slatington PA.

He is survived by his Wife; mother ; Step Father , William D. Stumpf of Neffs PA; sons , David L. Smith of Topton PA, Clay J. Smith of Schnecksville PA and H. Benjamin Jacoby of Orefield PA; Daughter, Deanna L. Jacoby of Northampton PA; Step sisters , Sandra L., wife of Robert E. Ackerman of Allentown PA, Judith A. Schrader of Allentown PA and 6 Grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2000 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA. Calling Hours will be 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Slatedale Cemetery, Slatedale PA.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to the Hospice St. John and/or Brain Tumor Support Group c/o the funeral home, PO Box #196, 18078-0196.
