FLOYD W. BENNETT
Floyd W. Bennett, 87, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Aliquippa and Pittsburgh, died February 14, 2006 at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. Born in Artemas, Bedford Co., PA, he was raised by George and Annetta Foster. He married Mary Louise Mulhollen on February 21, 1947. Mr. Bennett was a member of the John S. Sell Chapel and a former member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, both in Elizabethtown. A guidance counselor for the Pittsburgh Board of Education, he retired in 1975. Mr. Bennett was a member of Woodlawn Lodge #672 F&AM, Aliquippa where he was a 50 year member. He was also a member of Knights Templer, Syria Shrine, Cheswick, PA, PSEA NEA, and the VFW National Post. He played baseball for a Pittsburgh league and enjoyed following the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mr. Bennett played multiple instruments including the trumpet and piano, which he would play four hand with his wife. He and his wife attended over 50 elderhostels. U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in Italy and North Africa for four years. He spent over 500 days in combat and received a Presidential Citation, combat infantry badge, and five bronze stars. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by a brother, John Bennett and a sister, Loretta Fletcher. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister Clarissa Meyer. A Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at 10:00 AM with Pastor Gary S. George officiating. There will be no viewing.

WILLIAM R. FRANTZ
William R. Frantz, 85, of Elizabethville, formerly of Middletown, died Thursday evening at the Kepler Home, Elizabethville. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Robert Russell and Nellie Viola Sellers Frantz. He was married to Blanche E. Means Frantz who died in 1993. They were married for 39 years. A construction worker, Mr. Frantz attended Mt. Calvary Church in Elizabethtown, and was a member of the Conewago Post #329, American Legion, Elizabethtown and the Middletown Anglers and Hunters Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and was an avid Phillies fan. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Frantz was preceded in death by a brother, Charles O. Frantz. He is survived by a sister, Mae E. Blauch, Elizabethville and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 2:00 PM with Pastor David C. Stauffer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Mount Tunnel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

FRANCES M. HOCKER
Frances Marie Hocker, 79, of Bel Air, Maryland, died on Friday, February 17, 2006. Born in Steelton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick C. and Marguerite L. Colestock Kolhaas. She was the wife of the late Clifford C. Hocker, Jr., who died in 1987. A former member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown, Mrs. Hocker was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Bel Air, since 1998. Retiring in 1991, Mrs. Hocker was employed as an accounting technician for M&M Mars, Elizabethtown and it's predecessor, Klein Chocolate Co. She was a member of the Elizabeth Hughes Society, Elizabethtown Flower Club and Elizabethtown Senior Citizens. She also served as the treasurer of the flower club and senior citizens, and volunteered at the church, Elizabethtown Public Library and the Elizabethtown Fair. Additionally, she was a 1944 graduate of Steelton High School. She is survived by a son; Frederick C., married to Phyllis Hocker, Cedar City, Utah, a daughter; Jeanne L., married to Steven Matthews, with whom she resided, three grandchildren; Matthew Carl and Kyle Andrew Hocker and Kevin Carl Matthews, and a brother; Frederick J. Kolhaas. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 East High Street, Elizabethtown at 1:00 PM with Pastors Kenneth H. Homer and Richard D. Niewoehner, officiating. There will be no viewing. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Interment will take place in Mount Tunnel Cemetery. Arrangements by Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, Elizabethtown.

LOUISE R. STEINHAUER
Louise R. Steinhauer, 91, of Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Born June 14, 1914, in Buffalo, NY, she was an only child of the late Roswell D. and Estella Walker Rupp. She grew up in Lansdale, graduated from Bucknell University in 1936, and married Wm. Paul Steinhauer, who died September 22, 1993. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Galland, Steinhauer, Repa Insurance Company. Louise was an avid gardener, quilter, and crafts person, serving as a volunteer in the Masonic Village craft room. She was a loving caregiver to her husband, her family, and many friends. She is survived by her three sons , William R., husband of Virginia, Hardeeville, SC, Roswell R., husband of Anne Marie, Dallas, PA, and James R., husband of Rose, Halifax, PA, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA, on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Pastor A. Preston Van Deursen officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

RANDY S. LOKEY
Randy S. Lokey, 45 of Bainbridge, died on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Hershey Medical Center from the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of John L. and Faye Hitz Lokey of Bainbridge. He was the husband of Pamela L. Nauman Lokey. They were married for 23 years in September 2005. Mr. Lokey was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Bainbridge. A 1978 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and participated in football, wrestling and baseball and was part of the 1978 baseball LL League and Section championship team and sectional wrestling co-champions. He was employed by Penn DOT as a construction permit inspector and was the owner/operator of L&F Sports a home-based business. He was a graduate of PA State Police Academy of Hershey and had previously served as a Mount Joy police officer and Chief of Police in Conoy Twp. Heavily involved with youth and community, Mr. Lokey served on the GEARS Board of Directors, the Big E Booster Club, the Bainbridge Cemetery Board, Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge # 596, Elizabethtown, and Cee Jays of Conoy Twp. He coached the Elizabethtown Bears midget baseball team and worked as an umpire for ASA softball, as well as participating as a player. For 25 years he officiated football for PIAA and was a past president of CTYAA. He was instrumental in providing the dugouts and the sound system for EAHS Bears baseball and the field hockey scoreboard and sound system. Mr. Lokey was an avid Eagles fan and a member of the YaYa Football Club, an Eagles fan club. He was also an avid fan of Temple field hockey, where his daughter; Alli plays and Florida Southern baseball, where his son; Derek plays. He will be greatly missed by his dogs; Kelsey and Misty and cat; Peanut Butter. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son; Derek M., a daughter Alli R., both of Bainbridge, a sister; Diane M. Lokey of Mount Joy, maternal grandmother; Kathryn Hitz, Maytown, nieces; Kristin and Kaylee Nauman and many close friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 106 North Second Street, Bainbridge at 11:00 AM with Rev. Emily Styer, officiating. Friends may call on Monday evening at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown from 6:00-9:00 and on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 until the time of services. Interment will take place in Bainbridge Cemetery. CHARLES L. METZGER
Charles L. Metzger, 83 of 1212 James Buchanan Drive, Elizabethtown, formerly of West Chester and Troy, PA, died on Friday, February 24, 2006 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born in Troy, Bradford County, PA, he was the son of the late C. Tracey and Helen Greenough Metzger. He was the husband of Edith Merrick Metzger. They would have been married for 59 years on March 8, 2006. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, West Chester and attended John S. Sell Chapel at Masonic Village. He was a 1940 graduate of Troy High School, received a bachelors of science degree from Drexel University in 1947 and was a member of the Alpha Pi Lambda fraternity. Retiring in 1984, Mr. Metzger was Vice President for Schram, Inc., West Chester, since 1947 and continued to serve on its board of directors until 2005. He was a past chairman of Manufacturers Division of the National Limestone Institute, past president of Portable Drilling Rig Manufactures Association, a director of National Water Well Association (1982-85) and was a member of the National Crushed Stone Institute. He also served on the board of directors for Flat Water Fleet in Minnesota and served on the board of trustees for the Central Chester County YMCA. A US Army veteran of WWII, he served as a staff sergeant with the 10th Air Service Squadron. Mr. Metzger was a member and past president of West Chester Golf and Country Club and was involved with the West Chester Area Senior Center. A Melvin Jones Fellow, he served as president (1980-81) of West Chester Lions Club and was a current member of Elizabethtown Lions Club. Mr. Metzger was a member of West Chester Lodge #322, F&AM. He was preceded in death by a brother, Philip F. Metzger. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, C. Lee, Jr., husband of Shirley C. Metzger, Perkasie; a daughter, Helen M., wife of Rick Zumsteg, Wilmington, DE; three grandsons, Charles L., Metzger, III, Christopher J. Metzger and Eric Zumsteg, A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown at 10:00 AM. BETTY MARIANEL SPAGNOLETTI
Betty Marianel Spagnoletti, 67, of Elizabethtown, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at peace and surrounded by her loving family. Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Theodore J. and Esther E. Fox Drybread. She was the wife of Donald F. Spagnoletti, they were married for 23 years in December 2005. Mrs. Spagnoletti attended Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg. A production worker, she was employed at Seedway in Elizabethtown until prevented by her illness. Mrs. Spagnoletti, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and going to the beach. She was an avid bingo player and loved to cook. She also loved her pet birds and dog. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Constance Lee, wife of David J. Shay, Elizabethtown; two sons , Victor K., husband of Patricia Nauman, Bainbridge; Yancy C., husband of Wendy Nauman, Bainbridge; five grandchildren, one great grandson and a brother, Theodore Jay, husband of Marvel Drybread, Biglerville. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006 from Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM, with Pastor James E. Moore, officiating. HELEN SECHRIST
Helen Sechrist, 88, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Philadelphia, died Monday morning at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Anna Firth Finney. She was the wife of John S. Sechrist who died on June 3, 1997. They were married for 60 years. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she served in the church and was a teacher for the primary grades. A homemaker, Mrs. Sechrist was a volunteer at the Hershey Medical Center as well as the Hope Chest at the Masonic Village. She enjoyed gardening and the beauty of nature. She was a fantastic cook. Mrs. Sechrist had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Knott. Mrs. Sechrist is survived by two daughters , Elizabeth H., wife of Lee Via, Elizabethtown, June M., wife of Paul K. Trace, Woodbury, NJ, 5 grandsons, and 6 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1200 East King Street, Lancaster, PA with Bishop Rodger C. CARL A. MASSA
Carl A. Massa, 88, of Masonic Village, formerly of Orange Street, Elizabethtown, died on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Masonic Health Care Center. Born in Lower Windsor Twp., York County, he was the son of the late Christian and Katherine Hertweck Massa. He was the husband of Marie B. Heeter Massa. They were married for 42 years in July 2005. Retiring in 1979, Mr. Massa was employed by Masonic Village Abattoir, for over 30 years. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1941-1945 during WWII. Mr. Massa was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Abraham C. Treichler Lodge #682, F&AM, Masonic Homes High Twelve Club #629, all of Elizabethtown, Harrisburg Consistory and Zembo Shrine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters ; Barbara Scantling, Lena and Rosa Massa and two brothers ; John and George Massa. He is survived, in addition to his wife, by a daughter; Rebecca K., wife of Michael S. Maxwell, Elizabethtown, a granddaughter; Laura Marie and two brothers ; William and Edward Massa. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2006 from St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA at 11:00 AM. Friends may call on Sunday evening at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown from 6:00-8:00 and on Monday at the church from 10:00 until the time of servic. ANNA RUTH HESS
Anna Ruth Hess, 85, of Elizabethtown died on March 6, 2006 at her home. Born July 10, 1920 on a farm near Landisville, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Christine Drace Hess. A 72 year member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown, Anna Ruth served on several committees within the church, been director of numerous church plays, as well as secretary of the Women's Fellowship and secretary to the Administrative Board. She was a 1938 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and in 1939, became the first secretary employed by the school district. She retired in 1985 after 47 years with the Elizabethtown Area School District. Anna Ruth was involved with organizing, was a charter member and was a past president (1989-1991) of the Lancaster County Educational Secretaries Association. During WWII, she was a driver with the Red Cross Motor Corps. A member of Elizabethtown Business & Professional Women's Club, she served as its president in 1955 and as chairperson of the Educational Loan Fund. In 1984 she was chosen B.P.W. Club Woman of the Year. By 1984, she had been active in the Elizabethtown and Lancaster County Girl Scout Organization for 36 years. She had been a leader and consultant with the Brownies, Intermediate and Senior programs. The first Elizabethtown Day Camp, "Camp Merrybrook" was held under her direction in the town park with over 100 girls attending. She also served as first camp director for 2 years at Furnace Hills Camp in Mt. Airy; the first established Girl Scout Camp in Lancaster County and was involved in many other areas of Girl Scouts. Anna Ruth had served on Elizabethtown's Park Commission for many years and has been very active in many other community organizations including; Elizabeth Hughes Society, Elizabethtown Historical Society, the North Museum Assoc., Friends of Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, Elizabethtown College Auxiliary, Elizabethtown Library Board, the Lancaster Fulton Music Series, Hershey Museum and Federated Club Work. In 1994, while she was president of the Elizabethtown Flower Club, the club helped beautify downtown Elizabethtown with their flowers and plants. Her other interests include; her pinochle club of 40 years, bowling, reading, crafts, art, needlework, modeling, gardening, swimming, auctions, antique shows and traveling. Some of her travels took her to Hawaii in 1950 to attend her brothers wedding, the Caribbean, Panama, Columbia, South America, Europe; and a 19 day journey to China under the sponsorship of the Chinese-U.S. Friendship Association. She also traveled to Australia and New Zealand. Anna Ruth was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Lura, who died in 1994. She is survived by a brother; J. Donald Hess, Cdr, USN (Ret.), married to Arlene of San Diego, CA and three nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2006 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor John B. Davis, II, officiating. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 10:00 until the time of service. Interment will take place in Mount Tunnel Cemetery. RICHARD T. BAILEY
Richard T. Bailey, 63 of Mount Joy, died on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Sharon, Mercer County, he was the son of James I. Bailey, Sr. of Mercer and the late Mary Eleanore Oakley Bailey. He was the husband of JoAnne M. Carello Bailey of Mount Joy. Mr. Bailey was a 1960 graduate of Sharon High School, received a bachelor's of science degree in chemical engineering from Grove City College in 1964 and was a member of the Omicron Xi fraternity. A chemical engineer for Armstrong World Industries for 32 years, Mr. Bailey retired in 1996 as the manager for the reprographics division and previously was the general manager for carpet research and development. After retirement, he was employed part-time by Progressive Forms and Labels, Harrisburg, for 10 years. Mr. Bailey had previously served on the zoning board for West Hempfield Twp. He also enjoyed skiing, traveling, golf, fishing, hunting, the outdoors and family vacations. In addition to his wife and Father , he is survived by two daughters ; Lori L., wife of Tim Christian, Elizabethtown, Jennifer A. Bailey, Richmond, VA, two sons ; Michael D., husband of Jennifer L. Hall, Mount Joy, Andrew J., husband of Jennifer C. Hall, Maytown, four grandchildren, a brother; James I. Bailey, Jr. and a sister; Dr. Melinda M., wife of Thomas Ristvey, both of Hermitage, PA A Funeral Service will be held at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 11:00 PM with Rev. GEORGE W. MCCURDY, SR.
George W. McCurdy, Sr., 84 of Elizabethtown, died on Friday, March 17, 2006. Born in Conoy Twp., he was the son of the late Harry F., Sr. and Jessie K. Witman McCurdy. He was the husband of the late Viola "Toots" Shive McCurdy who died in 1996. A mechanic supervisor, Mr. McCurdy retired in 1981 from the J.E.Baker Co., York, where he was employed for 41 years. A US Army veteran of WWII, he served with the 330th Engineers Regiment in the China/Burma/India Theater. He was a member of Bainbridge American Legion Post #197 and Fred Barley Post #5667, VFW, Elizabethtown. Mr. McCurdy also enjoyed collecting watch fobs. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; Dorothy J. Richwine and three brothers ; Freeman S., Harold D. and Richard L. McCurdy. H e is survived by sons ; George W., Jr., married to Shirley Gutshall McCurdy, Mount Joy, M. Steven McCurdy and Kenneth P. Parisi both of Thomasville, a granddaughter; Tracy L. Neiss, a grandson; Brian K. McCurdy, four great grandchildren, two sisters ; Edna E. McCurdy, Middletown, Doris L., married to Burdell C. Tyson, Mount Joy, three brothers ; Harry F., Jr., York, Loman L., married to Helen Gorman McCurdy, Mount Joy, Lesley L. McCurdy, Mount Joy, and two sisters -in-law; Donna McCurdy and Nancy McCurdy Engle, both of Elizabethtown. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Charles E. Marshall, officiating. A. LINCOLN KEENER
Services to be held for A. Lincoln Keener Age: 74 of Elizabethtown, PA died Saturday evening at his residence, Elizabethtown, PA. Born in Rapho Twp., he was the son of the late Walter D. and Ada B. Longenecker Keener. He was the husband of Edith Weinhold Keener. They were married for 52 years in June 2003. He was a member of Congregational Bible Church, Marietta, where he sang in various quartets. A farmer all his life, Mr. Keener established Keener Tire Service in Elizabethtown in 1975. He retired from both farming and the tire service in 1995. Mr. Keener enjoyed music and musical concerts, scenic drives, bus trips, singing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Tricia Miller, a sister, Mary Miller and two brothers ; Edwin and Samuel Keener. Survivors: Wife, Edith Keener of Elizabethtown, Son; Donald Keener of Elizabethtown, Daughter; Phyllis, wife of Donald Kreider of Rheems, Son; Richard Keener of Mount Joy, Daughter; Valerie, wife of Daryl Hilsher of Elizabethtown, 3 sisters ; Virgie L. Keener of Lancaster, Barbara, wife of Harold Reed of Lancaster, Helen, wife of James R. Hess of Myerstown, 3 brothers ; Walter Keener, Jr. of Lancaster, John Keener of Mount Joy, Harold Keener of Mount Joy, 11 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandchildren. JOYCE E. HEINAMAN
Services to be held for Joyce E. Heinaman, age 61, of 310 Barbara Avenue, Landisville, PA, formerly of Rheems, PA, died Monday afternoon at her residence. Born in Rheems, she was the daughter of Dorothy Berrier Heisey Drace of Elizabethtown and the late Martin N. Heisey. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 13 years as a line operator by Kellogg Company in Lancaster. Mrs. Heinaman was a 1960 graduate of Elizabethtown High School. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed trips to Rehoboth Beach and reading, especially psychological thrillers. She was preceded in death by her step- Father , Albert I. Drace, and a brother, James M. Heisey. She is survived by her mother , Dorothy Berrier Heisey Drace of Elizabethtown, her son, Eugene R., husband of Laurie L. Conley Wagner of Landisville, two grandsons, and a sister, Gayle, wife of Robert Bush of Landisville. A memorial service will be held at Frank S. Miller Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Berrier officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery,Elizabethtown. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at the Miller Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. EUGENE W. "GENE" AUKER
Services to be held for Eugene W. "Gene" Auker, age 51, of 1585 Landis Road, Elizabethtown, PA, died Saturday evening at Essa Flory Hospice Center, Lancaster, PA. Born in Hershey, he was the son of Verna H. Ober Auker Endslow of Elizabethtown and the late Phares S. Auker. He was married to Lynne G. Dennis Auker for 30 years in April. Mr. Auker was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Elizabethtown. He was a 1970 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School. During the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Army as a military policeman stationed in Germany. Mr. Auker owned and operated PARS, Inc. in Elizabethtown for the last eight years. He became a partner in the business with his Father in 1978. From 1973-1978, Mr. Auker was employed by the former Roland Asphalt Paving of Mount Joy. In addition to hunting, he enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin in Union County. He is also survived by his step- Father , George Endslow. He is survived by his mother , Verna H. Ober Auker Endslow, wife of George Endslow of Elizabethtown, wife, Lynne G. Dennis Auker of Elizabethtown, two sons , Jeffery W., husband of Jamie L. Ehredt Auker, and Kevin E., husband of Carlene M. Weber Auker, both of Elizabethtown, a granddaughter, a brother, Vernon L., husband of Beverly Hershey Auker of Mount Joy, PA, and a sister Irene M., wife of Paul Liskey of Elizabethtown. A Funeral Service will be held at Grace Brethren Church, 305 Anchor Road, Elizabethtown, PA with Pastor Jeff Hoffard officiating. Burial will be in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown. Friends may call at the church on Thursday evening from 7-9:00 PM and on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or to Grace Brethren Church, 305 Anchor Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
