Alvin Void, 27, of 407 Laval Road, Santee, died Thursday, October 18, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral services will be announced by Eutawville Community Funeral Home.

Ms. Mashawn E. Jefferson

Ms. Mashawn E. Jefferson of Irmo, died Sunday, October 14, 2007.

Homegoing services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 20, at Haskell Heights Progressive Church, with burial to follow in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Jefferson was born in Charleston, the daughter of Jessie Jamison Jefferson and Cornell Jefferson. She was currently employed as an assistant manager at Kroger.

Surviving are her parents, son, Todara Belton: daughters, Jasmin L. Daniels, Lyrie Reese, and Krystal Jamison; brothers, Carl Jefferson, Anthony Jamison and Kenneth Morgan; sisters, Shalya Shuler, Kimberly Jefferson, and Taylor Jackson; grandparents, the Rev. Jesse Jamison Jr., and Frank Jefferson; three nephews; six nieces; seven uncles; and ten aunts all of whom will miss her dearly.

Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home Inc. of Columbia is in charge.

Gene Autry Cooper Sr.

Gene Autry Cooper Sr., 73, of Springfield, died Thursday, October 18, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at First Baptist Church of Springfield, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Y. Gantt officiating. Burial will be in Melrose Memorial Garden in Swansea.

Born in the Sawyerdale Community of Orangeburg County, Gene was a son of the late Lonnie and Dallie Barr Cooper. He retired from the Savannah River Site and was married to the late Saphronie Yon Cooper. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springfield.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela C. and Mack Kennerly of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Gene A. Jr. "Audie" and Tracy Cooper of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Kathryn and Kristen Kennerly and Miles and Benjamin Cooper; a sister, Corean C. Bell of Williston.

Folk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Randolph Kooly Little

Funeral services for Randolph "Kooly" Little, 40, of 2150 Bowman Branchville Highway, Bowman, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007, in the Simmons Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Irvin Bryant and Pastor Willa Mimmenger officiating.

Mr. Little, son of the late Alford Little and Mary B. Little, was born March 11, 1967 in Wadley, Ga. He entered eternal rest on October 13.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his mother, Mary B. Little of Orangeburg; his adopted mother, Martha Smith of Orangeburg; two brothers, Darrell Steven Little Sr. of Norfolk, Va. and Alfred Jerry Little of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mary Alice Little of Orangeburg, Christy Ann Little McFadden and Sandy Jeanette Little of Goose Creek; one grandmother, Josephine Simmons of Sandersville, Ga.; a devoted aunt, Julia Mae Little of Wadley, Ga.; a host of uncles, including Jimmy, Peter, and Charles Strowbridge of Florida; one sister-in-law, Bridgetta Little of Norfolk, Va.; one brother-in-law, Rodney Bernard McFadden of Goose Creek; five nephews, Martin, Jacob, Darrell Jr., Paris, and Thomas; five nieces, Shanisha, Shelly, Sherry, and Alexis; a host of cousins, other family members and dear friends.

Friends may call at the residence of his sister, Mary Little, 1120 Wolfe Trail, Apt. 261, Orangeburg, SC or at Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Harvey Tate Cheeseboro Sr.

Funeral services for Harvey "Tate" Cheeseboro Sr., 85, of 930 Maceo Circle, formerly Nance Circle, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007, in the Olive Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Belleville Memorial Gardens.

The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Mr. Cheeseboro died Tuesday, October 16, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

He was born July 10, 1922, in Elloree, a son of the late Willie Cheeseboro and Elinora Bookhart Cheeseboro. He was employed by Orangeburg School District Five for many years until his retirement. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Cameron. "Tate" was just recently widowed by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Pearline "Dolly" Plezer Cheeseboro.

Survivors include his children, seven sons and four daughters, Harvey Jr. (Dorothy) of Orangeburg, Robert (Delzora) of N.C., Willie (Deborah) of Orangeburg, David of Beacon, N.Y., Anthony (Linda), Abraham (Joann) of Hampton, Va., Roger of Morrisville, N.J., Shirley Cheeseboro of Bronx, N.Y., Mary (Alonzo) Graham of Florence, Odessa Taylor of Augusta, Ga., and Betty Lou Moorer of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Elnora Sumter of Cameron, and Willa Mae Wilder of James Island; one brother, Jesse (Mary) Cheeseboro of New York, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Kportie and Mary Moorer, both of Bronx, N.Y.; one brother-in-law, Willie Pelzer of Cameron; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, at Al Jenkins Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.

JoAnn Holloway

JoAnn Holloway, 49, of 3544 Cordova Road, Cordova, died Thursday, October 18, 2007, at the Lexington Medical Center.

Funeral services will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Orangeburg.

Dana Harry Sabine Sr.

Dana Harry Sabine Sr., 86, of 2721 Myrtle Drive, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 19, in the Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg, with Father Michael Okere officiating.

Mr. Sabine was born August 23, 1921 in Gilford, Maine, the son of the late Mr. Sabine and the late Mae Lewis Sabine. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a veteran of World War II. He was past president of L and I Atlantic.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Derielle G. Sabine of Orangeburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dana and Susan Sabine of Amissville, Va. and David and Jodie Sabine of Columbia; one daughter, Debbie Sue Stradling of Orangeburg; 10 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence, 2721 Myrtle Drive, Orangeburg.

Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Elsie Amaker

Funeral services for Ms. Elsie Amaker, 84, of 261 Summers Ave., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Nathaniel C. Bonaparte officiating. Burial will be in Belleville Memorial Gardens.

The casket will be placed in the church at 9 a.m.

Ms. Amaker died October 16, while undergoing treatment at the Regional Medical Center.

Elsie Elizabeth Amaker, who was named for a grandmother and an aunt, was born in Orangeburg, August 14, 1923. She was the fifth child of the late Marion Woodrow Amaker and Sallie Olivia Gilyard Amaker.

She attended public schools of Orangeburg, including Dunton Elementary, Sharperson Junior High and Wilkinson High Schools. She had a zest for life and collected a circle of friends wherever she lived, opening her home and sharing her time with neighbors, youngsters, the disabled and older seniors as well as her peers. She made a notable hobby of keeping up with fashion trends and delighted in helping her friends present themselves as stylishly attired as she liked to be.

Ms. Amaker spend most of her adult life in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she raised two sons and worked for many years in the hospitality industry. She was a member of the hotel workers union.

After moving back to Orangeburg more than 15 years ago, she re-affiliated with Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, where she had been baptized in her youth and where her family had contributed Christian service for several generations. She was a member of Ward II.

Her two devoted sons, Stephen and Theodore ("Teddy") preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish fond memories; one sister, Sallie M. Thompson (Lonnie) and one sister-in-law, Ethel Amaker, of Orangeburg; nieces, Betty Anne Williams of Washington, D.C.; Rose Williams Alford (William) of Columbia; Deborah Amaker and Shelia Amaker Franklin (Ronnie) of Orangeburg and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Bythewood Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dorothy McCord

Mrs. Dorothy McCord, of Calhoun Convalescent Center, St. Matthews, died Thursday, October 18, 2007, following an extended illness.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lillie B. Johnson

Mrs. Lillie B. Johnson, 83, of 70 Halfway Swamp Lane, Cameron, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Al Jenkins Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence of her husband, Elijah "Booker T" Johnson and at the funeral home.
