A memorial services for Margaret Jan Runey, 64, of Allendale, SC will be held three p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bernice Graves officiating. Jan passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Barnwell County, SC.

Born in Charleston, SC she was a daughter of John Frances Runey and the late Reba Smith Runey.

Survivors include her father, John Runey; a sister, Carol (Steve) Howze of Odessa, FL; brothers, John Runey, Jr. of Sunrise, FL; Randy (Suzanne) Runey of Tampa, FL and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all the staff and care-givers at the Gibson Street Home who cared for Jan.

Paul Anderson Gleaton Sr.

Funeral services for Paul Anderson Gleaton, Sr., 84, of Springfield, SC will be held two p.m., Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at Pine Hill Freewill Baptist Church, Hwy, # 3 with burial in the Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Tuesday, January 25th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston. Mr. Gleaton passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011.

Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Euley Gleaton and Rodie Wells Gleaton. He was a truck driver, construction worker, a night watchman at Paul Jones Lumber Co., a US Army Veteran having served in WW II and a member of Pine Hill Freewill Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Chavis Gleaton; daughters, Effie Lee Beaman, Helen Elizabeth Remus, Dianne Schrock; sons, Bobby Lee Gleaton, Gregary Gleaton; sisters, Mattie Gleaton, Inez Williams, Annie Lou Hartley, Peggy Yon; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Paul Anderson Gleaton, Jr., grandson, Stephen Christopher Gleaton; sisters, Mary Magdalene Proctor, Marie Proctor, Rodie Cornelious Gleaton, Azilee Collins, Mammie Proctor; brothers, Charlie Gleaton, Euley Gleaton, Jr., Oscar Gleaton and Allen Gleaton.

Eula Mae Crowe Tarrance

A memorial service for Eula Mae Crowe Tarrance, 83, of Beaufort, SC will be held one-thirty p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Folk Funeral Home, 170 N. Elko St., Williston, SC. Mrs. Tarrance passed away January 9, 2011 in Beaufort, SC. She was born in Greenwood, SC on June 6, 1927; she was a daughter of the late Roland Langdon Crowe and Lazanika Christian Crowe. She graduated from Greenwood High School and worked for Southern Bell, Siebels Bruce and S & S Cafeterias throughout the Southeast. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Beaufort.

Mrs. Tarrance is predeceased by her husband, Gregg Smith Tarrance and a son, Steve Allen Tarrance. She is survived by three sons, Nolan (Penny) Tarrance of Beaufort, SC, Roland Tarrance of Deerfield Beach, FL, and Bratton (Jane) Tarrance of Beaufort, SC; grandchildren, Gregg N. (Gretchen) Tarrance of Columbia, James Tarrance, Kelsey and Steve Tarrance of Beaufort, SC, Stacy Nicole Tarrance of Sacramento, CA and a great grandchild, Mia of Sacramento, CA.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1201 North St., Beaufort, SC 29902.

John Wesley Croft

Funeral services for John Wesley Croft, 80, of Bamberg, will be held eleven a.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with Revs. Timothy Gunnells and Darrell Croft officiating. Burial will be in the South End Cemetery, Bamberg, SC. Visitation will be held from five to seven p.m., Monday, December 13, 2010 at the funeral home. Mr. Croft passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010.

Born in Barnwell County, SC he was a son of the late Edward J. and Ellen Argoe Croft. He was a retired truck driver, dairy farmer, attended Open Arms Ministry, loved fishing, gardening, and working in his yards. Mr. Croft was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lang Croft of the home; daughters, Frances “Lib” (Carl) Gunnells of Olar, SC, Rev. Phyllis (Paul) Sandifer of Bamberg, SC, Rev, Eileen (Andy) Gunnells of Barnwell, SC, Rev. Cindy (Bill) Strock, of Orangeburg; sons, Wesley O’Neal (Sharon) Croft of Moncks Corner, SC, Wayne (Beth) Croft of Anderson, SC, Rev. Darrell (Mary) Croft of Lexington, SC; sisters, Louise Fogle of Hilda, SC, Susie Hutson of Barnwell, SC; brother, Bobby Croft of Blackville, SC; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice Williams, Melba Croft, Julia Ethel Croft; brothers, Everette Croft, E.J. Croft.

Sam Douglas

Funeral services for Sam Douglas, 89, of Morgantown Community, SC will be held eleven a.m., Friday, December 24, 2010 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with burial in the Morgantown Cemetery, Springfield, SC with the Rev. Tommy Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Thursday, December 23rd at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to a charity of one’s choice. Mr. Douglas passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010.

Sam was born and lived his entire life in the Morgantown Community, SC. He was a son of the late Simmons T. and Susan Morgan Douglas, was a farmer and a member of Rocky Swamp Southern Methodist Church.

Survivors include his brother, John L. "Duggie" Douglas of North Augusta, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary D. Caughman; brothers, Carlos, George, O.C., Cephas and Jones Douglas.

Born in Bamberg County, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Ida Atterberry Gilliam and was married to the late Marvin Hobson Hutto for 65 years. She was a graduate of Denmark High School, a member of Double Pond Baptist Church, retired from Blackville Public School District where she worked in food service and also worked for Barnwell Woolen Mills.

Survivors include, sons, Phil (Mary Jane) Hutto, Bobby (Carrie) Hutto, Leon (Gaye) Hutto, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Hutto Thurmond; son, Marvin Edwin Hutto; granddaughter, Tara Thurmond; grandson, Dwayne Edwin Hutto; sister, Gwen Wall; brothers, Royce and Adolf Gilliam.

The Reverends Ken Dodson, Timothy Gunnells and Rommie Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Shirley Morris in Barnwell. Memorials may be sent to Amedisys Hospice of Orangeburg, 1180 Boulevard Street, Suite A, Orangeburg, SC 29115. Mrs. Fogle passed away Monday, December 27, 2010.

Born in Barnwell County, she was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Ellen Argo Croft. Mrs. Fogle was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and had a love for cooking and baking. She attended Trinity Baptist Church and was first married to the late Clinton E. Owens.

Survivors include her husband, Zack B. Fogle of the home; daughters, Shirley (Clay) Morris of Barnwell, Trina (Dean) Griffin of Hilda; a son, Clinton “Bobo” Owens and Gail Dill of Blackville; a sister, Susie Hutson of Barnwell; a brother, Bobby (Barbara) Croft of Blackville; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice Williams, Melba Croft, Julia Ethel Croft; brothers, Everette Croft, E.J. Croft and John Wesley Croft.

James Monroe Greene, Sr.

Funeral services for James Monroe Greene, Sr., 89, of Elko, SC will be held three p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Elko Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Baker officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church social hall on Saturday. American Legion Post #75 will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Elko Baptist Church, P.O. Box 277, Elko, SC 29826. Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC is assisting the family. Mr. Greene passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010.

Born in Dunbarton, SC, he was a son of the late Henry Dayton and Sarah Emma Burckhalter Greene. He was a retired cabinet maker having worked for Schumpert Lumber Company for many years. He was a WWII US Army Veteran having served with the 12th Army division with the 43rd battalion. He received the American Theater ribbon, the Eamet service medal, WWII Victory medal and three (Europe) battle stars. He was a member of Elko Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, men’s Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 75 and was former mayor of Elko, SC.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Rosalee Hamer Greene, sons, James Monroe “Jimmy” (Carolyn) Greene of Greer, SC, Jerry Hamer (Karen) Greene of Elko; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Legg, Brannon, Courtney, Autumn, Savannah and Austin Greene; great granddaughter, Emma Rose Legg and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Sadie Sweat, Louise Rountree, Nell Gunter, Elma Arban; brothers, Otis J. Greene, Henry E. Greene, Marion H. Greene and Vernon Greene.

Born in Old Dunbarton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Annie Maye Rutland Owens and was married to the late Elton Tillman Eubanks. She retired from Ameritron and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Lois E. Mullikin; grandchildren, Ronald W. Marrow, Connie G. Watkins; great granddaughter, Lauren Watkins Swanson and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret O. Turner, Marie O. Yonce, Lorraine Owens; brother, Raymond Edward Owens, Jr.

Born in St. Matthews, SC, she was a daughter of the late Baxter Townsend and Mary Lever Townsend. She formerly worked for United Technologies as an assembly operator and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Becky and Brett Bodiford of Williston, Vikki and David Thompson of Denmark; sons, Barry Bell of St. Matthews, Chris Bell of Williston; grandchildren, Joshua, Nicklaus, Jenna Bodiford, Chris Fralix, Tonya and Stacey Bell. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Kemmerlin and a brother, Homer Townsend.

Born in Windsor, SC he was a son of the late Herman and Daisy Cushman Redd and was married to the late Elizabeth Juanita Parker Redd. He was a retired farmer and formerly worked at SRP for EI DuPont as a carpenter.

Survivors include his sons, Reggie Redd of Williston, Marshall Redd of Windsor; daughter Eva R. Wahl of Windsor; five grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lee Gantt, Jerri Youmans; brother, Clifton Redd; grandson, Donnie Miller.
