Frances Irene Pickering

Frances Irene Pickering died Thursday, November 1, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, in the Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Jim Parnell officiating.

Survivors include one sister, Margie P. Brown of Ohio and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 1250 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC 29115.

Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.

Nathaniel Roc Mack Jr.

Funeral services for Nathaniel "Roc" Mack Jr., also known as "88", of 990 Rivers St., will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in the Good News AME Zion Church, 2297 Russell St, Orangeburg, with Elder Paul Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Bull Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Mack died Tuesday, October 23.

He was born in Orangeburg to the Nathaniel Mack Sr. and the late Mrs. Katherine Elease Holman Mack. "Roc" became a member of Bull Swamp Baptist Church at an early age. He was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County. He later relocated to Slidell, La. for 13 years.

Survivors include his father, Nathaniel Mack Sr. of Orangeburg; three sisters, Georgia Mae Mack of Columbia, Willa Dean Mack Morgan of Orangeburg, Everette Mack of Charlotte, N.C.; six brothers, Marion (Margie) Mack of Gaston, Edward Mack, Ernest Brown, Ricky Brown, Michael Franklin and Albert Brown, all of Orangeburg and Raymond Mack of Charlotte, N.C. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Willa Dean Morgan, 1829 McMichael St., and at Bethea's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Edward Tyler

Edward Tyler, 84, of the Honey Ford community, Denmark, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 in the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.

Funeral services will be announced by the Denmark Chapel of the Carroll Mortuary. Friends may call at the residence.

Ms. Syrinthia M. Livingston

Ms. Syrinthia M. Livingston, 33, of 2807 Shadblow Lane, West Columbia, died Friday, September 14, 2007, at the Lexington Medical Center.

Funeral services will be announced by Jenkins Funeral Home of St. Matthews.

Friends may call at the residence of her sister, Lakeisha Ravenell, 2807 Shadblow Lane, West Columbia and at the funeral home.

Mrs. Virty M. Kibler

Mrs. Virty M. Kibler, daughter of the late Alex and Bessie Butterfield, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Barnwell. Burial will be in the Hope Memorial Park, Highway #3, Barnwell.

The casket will be placed in the church for viewing one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday night, Sept. 17, at Lebby Funeral Home.

Friends may also call at her residence, 30 White Oak Drive, Barnwell.

Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred W. Carn

Graveside services for Mrs. Mildred Wright Carn, 87, of 1000 Methodist Oak Drive, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorials may be made to Bowman Southern Methodist Church, P.O. Box 217, Bowman, SC 29018 or to Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Betty Whetsell, 1876 Ebenezer Road, Bowman, SC 29018.

Robert Lee Bellinger

Robert Lee Bellinger, 80, of Augusta Hills Nursing Home and formerly of 20901 Solomon Blatt Ave., Blackville, died Friday, September 21, 2007, after an extended illness at Augusta Hills Nursing Home in Augusta, Ga.

Funeral services will be announced by Green's Funeral Home of Blackville.

Friends may call at the residence of his daughter, Wanda Raysor, 125 Oriole Drive, Barnwell, and at the funeral home.

Roy E. Patterson

Mr. Roy E. Patterson of Laurel Baye Healthcare, Blackville, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at the healthcare center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Green's Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Green's Funeral Home of Blackville.

Alfred Sciadini

Alfred Sciadini passed away on October 23 at home.

Al was born on May 1, 1925 in Arezzo, Italy, Province of Tuscany. He came to the United States in May 1931 with his mother and father arriving at Ellis Island, where a memorial bearing his name along with his mother and father have hung since 1985. Al was raised in Norwalk, Conn. and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 through 1946.

Al began the pipefitter trade after his discharge from the Marines, then took classes in HVAC and moved to Florida where he became a member of Local 519 in Miami, Fla. In 1950 as an apprentice, Al became a charter member of Local 725, and was in its first graduating class. In 1958 Al was elected to the Labor Management Committee and subsequent positions on the Executive Board. In 1959 he was elected as business agent of Local 725 and served four consecutive terms where in 1968 he was elected as Business Manager. Al served as a national delegate for 725 in 1961 and 1986. He also served on many state and local boards, councils and committees. Al was an avid Catholic and also served on an Advisory Council for Bishop Carroll of Miami.

In 1969, Al was appointed the position of International Representative for the United Association in Washington, D.C. and in 1978 was elected as an International Representative serving as Director of Organization until he retired in 1992.

Al retired to Santee, South Carolina where he enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Survived by his wife, Thelma; son, John of Mebane, N.C. and daughters, Cynthia Hartley of Columbia and Elizabeth Croghan of Houston, Texas. Also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will take place on November 3, 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church at 2205 State Park Road, Santee SC 29142. A reception will follow after services for those who want to attend. The reception will be held at the Santee Quality Inn on Hwy. 6 at exit 98 off I-95 after the memorial.

The family requests that any donations be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, using this link, Al Sciadini Memorial Fund or by mail to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Legrand Hollman

Legrand Hollman, 74, of 580 Sprinkle Avenue, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be announced by Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Nettie Scott, 519 Jamison Avenue.
