Nell F. Clement
GREENVILLE — Nell Flynn Clement, 89, widow of James M. Clement of 414 Pine Knoll Dr., died Tuesday, December 31, 2002.
Born in Greer, SC, she was the daughter of the late Frank Burgess and Maude Alice Voiselle Flynn.
She was a retired textile worker with Southern Worsted Mill and a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Frankie Clement of Greenville; a son, George Clement of Clemson, SC; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Belton City Cemetery, Belton, SC.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hampton Heights Baptist Church, 2511 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29615.

Robert Griffin
HONEA PATH — Robert Lee Griffin, 62, of 133 Butler Road, husband of Nellis Lollis Griffin, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He was a son of the late Tullie and Evelyn Griffin and was employed by Griffin and Caldwell Garage.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Pam Osborne of Enoree, Robbie Bagwell and René Brown, both of Hickory Tavern; a son, Charlie Howard of Hickory Tavern; two sisters, Pearl Young of Ware Shoals and Peggy Satterwhite of Hickory Tavern; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals, conducted by the Rev. Gerald Crawford. Burial is in Henderson Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of a sister, 582 Crawford Road, Hickory Tavern.

Saverio Hagood
SPARTANBURG — Saverio Hagood, 51, husband of Queen Hagood, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
A native of Oconee, he was a son of Harriett Blassingame and the late John Hagood. He was area director of the South Carolina Employment Agency in Clinton and a graduate of Clemson University.
Survivors include his mother; his wife of Greenwood; two daughters, Vitanza Griffin of Rock Hill and LaJunta Steward of Spartanburg; two sons, Michael Peppers of Pendleton and Stephen Hagood of Greenwood; a brother, Harry T. Hagood of Pendleton; and 11 grandchildren.
The family is at his wife’s home, 234 N. Hospital St., Greenwood.

Ruby Hughes
ABBEVILLE — Ruby Norrell Hughes, 94, formerly of 602 Brooks St., died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Lemuel Providence and Maggie Elizabeth Banks Norrell. She was twice married, to the late Lucius Able and to the late Carl Basil Hughes. She retired from the public school system, having worked with Abbeville County School District. She was a former member of Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Gwendlyn Martin of Abbeville; a son, Randall Hughes of Enoree; a brother, Lemuel Nathaniel Norrell of Carrollton, Ga.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Revs. Ray Massey, Floyd Brewer and Marion Argo. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in Long Cane Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip R. Martin, 233 Whip-O-Will Road.
Memorials may be made to Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 18 Pinehurst Drive, Abbeville, SC 29620.

Alan Randall Jones, 35, of 121 Dorchester St., Pinehurst Subdivision, husband of Cndi Morris Jones, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Visitation is 7-9 Thursday at Harley Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home.

Mary Knox
ANTREVILLE — Mary Ann Torbett Knox, 81, of 2917 Highway 284, widow of Hubert B. Knox, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at her home.
Born in Bristol, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Conley and Margaret Torbett. She was a retired medical record secretary and a homemaker. She was a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Knox File of Antreville; two sons, Wade Knox of Asheville, N.C., and Sam Knox of the home; a sister, Helen Cooper of Bristol and two grandchildren.
Graveside services are 4 p.m. Thursday at Little Mountain Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 today at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Margaret Knox File, 270 P. Cromer Road, Abbeville.
Memorials may be made to The Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Beatrice Anderson Page, 95, of 404 Logan Road, widow of Henry Lewis Page, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Magnolia Manor.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Elwyn D. and Ola Davis Anderson. She retired from Eastwell Sportswear and was a member of Tranquil United Methodist Church and the Clark Sunday School Class of the church.
Survivors include eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. James Patterson. Burial is in Tranquil United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mike Riddle, Travis McCombs, Larry McCombs, Thomas McCombs, Billy McCombs and Michael McCombs.
Visitation is 10-11 Thursday at the funeral home.
Family members are at their respective homes.

Alice Rebecca “Becky” Conwell Tate, 67, of 1905 Mount Moriah Road, wife of Lucious Talmadge Tate, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at her home.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Hugh William Conwell Sr. and Evelyn Adams Conwell. She was manager of the Sunbeam Bread Store and a member of Woodmen of the World. She was a member of First Mount Moriah Baptist Church since 1969, where she was a member of the choir, the Estelle McDaniel Sunday School Class and the Ladies Bible Study.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two daughters, Gail Allison of Ninety Six and Janice Manley of Greenwood; two sons, Ronnie Whitt of Greenwood and Frank W. Whitt of Ninety Six; three sisters, Fannie Mae Bridges of Belton, Mary Agnew of Greenwood and Carolyn Broach of Columbia; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Fred Smith and Mr. David Allison. Burial is in First Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Don Rushton, Matt Riddle, Danny Warner, Spencer Warner, Danny Polatty, Richard Sprouse, Mike Agnew and C. Brown.
Honorary escorts are members of the Estelle McDaniel Sunday School Class of First Mount Moriah Baptist Church, along with Jeff Griffin, Bill Rushton, Dr. Benjamin Hill, Dr. Mark Bartz, Dr. Greg Mappin, Dr. George Cone and the staff of Greenwood Internal Medicine.

DUE WEST — Allen Thompson, 61, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at Canton Health Care, Canton, N.C.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Robert and Adell Pruitt Thompson. He was a retired employee of the City of Greenville.
Survivors include four sisters, Iola Butler and Alberta Goodman, both of New York, Roberta Johnson of Charlotte, N.C., and Gwendolyn Thompson of Columbia and a brother, Willie Thompson of New York.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Brown and Walker Funeral Home. Burial is in Harbison Cemetery, Abbeville.
The family is at the home of his aunt, Teresa Johnson, 3 Mill St., Due West.

Ernestine B. Enlow
NEWBERRY — Ernestine Bickley Enlow, 76, of 923 Cline St., wife of Carl Davis Enlow, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Zeda Banks Bickley. She was a retired employee of Damon International and attended Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Roger Enlow of Chappells, Wallace Enlow of Greenwood and Mikel Enlow of Newberry; three grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Friday at Newberry Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Revs. Charlie Clinton and Carroll Andrews.
Visitation is from 6–8 tonight at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Roger Enlow, 210 Long Sumpit Road, Chappells.

Alan Jones
Alan Randall Jones, 35, of 121 Dorchester St., Pinehurst Subdivision, husband of Cndi Morris Jones, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gulfport, Miss., he was a son of Jimmy Ray and Barbara Bradley Jones. He was an Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War, served in the National Guard, was a member of the Rock n’ Roll Cruisers Car Club and was an employee of Solutia. He was a member of Providence Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his parents of Greenwood; two daughters, Mercedes Jones and Savannah Jones, both of the home; a son, Chevy Jones of the home; maternal grandmother, Ruth Horne Dillard of Greenwood; paternal grandmother, Simone Jones of Gulfport; and two sisters, Tammy Jones Cowan and Jennifer Jones, both of Greenwood.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Woodfields Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. John Abrams and Roger Kinion. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Bobby Cowan, Ron Smith, Jimi “Dude” Morris, Billy Ray Mitchell Sr., Billy Ray Mitchell Jr. and Tim Hinton.
Honorary escorts are his uncles and members of the Rock n’ Roll Cruisers Car Club.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.

Helen Normandin
WATERLOO — Helen “Miss Frenchie” Normandin, age 88 of 283 Lick Creek Cr. died Tuesday, Dec. 31st at the Laurens County Hospital.
She was born in Bronx, New York and was a daughter of the late John and Teresa Mench Anka.
Mrs. Normandin was a homemaker, a long time vendor at the Greenwood Jockey Lot, member of the Good Friends and Neighbors Club, member of the Waterloo Fire Department and Rescue Squad and was a nurse’s aide for many years in New York.
Surviving are one son, John Normandin of New York; two daughters, Irene Williams of Waterloo, Lorraine Normandin of Greenville, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Allen Normandin.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home of Laurens.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home Friday evening.
Memorials may be made to the Paws Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 964, Laurens, S.C. 29360.
