Mr. Lee Meadows
Mr. Newlon Lee Meadows, Jr., 77, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at his residence on Edgewood Drive in Mt. Pleasant.
A memorial service for Mr. Meadows will be conducted Friday, May 14, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Phillip Wright officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant is in charge of the arrangements.
The Steel, Mo. native was the son of the late Newlon Lee, Sr. and Annie Jane Wade Meadows and was the husband of Nell Edwards Meadows of Mt. Pleasant. He was a retired train master for the Illinois Central Railroad and served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. He served as city Commissioner for the City of Mt. Pleasant for several years. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post # 10. He was active for many years in the affairs of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Christina (Eugene) McCary of Monterey, La. and Jane (Jeff) Brackett of Newton, Ill.; a son, Newlon Lee Meadows, III of Chatham, Ill.; a sister, Betty Fuqua of Milan; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lu Wagster.

Terry L. Johnson
Terry L. Johnson, 21, died Sunday, May 9, 2004 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at 8th and Woodland Original Church of God with Bishop Charlene Ogilvie officiating.
Burial will be in Rosemount Cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Friday at Roundtree, Napier & Ogilvies Columbia Funeral Home.
He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kathleen Cross Dawson, William Dawson and Eula Grace Johnson.
Survivors include his parents, Terry Johnson and Brenda Faye Johnson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Lena Mai Lawrence Alderson
Lena Mai Lawrence Alderson, 88, of the Williamsport Community died Sunday, May 9, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Nebo Original Church of God with Glenn Beard III officiating
Visitation will be noon - 1 p. m. Friday at the church.
The body will Lie-in-State Thursday at V. K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home. Burial is in Mt. Nebo Community Cemetery in Williamsport.
A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Fannie Thomas Lawrence. She received her education in the Maury county school system and was a member of Mt. Nebo Original Church Of God.
Survivors include her sisters, Jennie Booker and Mrs. Lucille Joyce, both of the Mt. Nebo Community.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Alderson and eight brothers and sisters.
James Gibson
Mr. James Oakley "J.O." Gibson, 80, retired employee of Monsanto Chemical Company, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at his residence on Perkins Road in Thompson Station.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. Harold D. Smith and Rev. Dave Brown officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Oscar Sidney Gibson and Mary Etta Prince Gibson. On June 3, 1945 he married Mary Jo McEntyre Gibson who preceded him in death December 25, 1990. He retired from Monsanto Chemical Company after forty-one years of service. Mr. Gibson served in the United States military during World War II. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila (Dave) Brown of Murfreesboro, Nicie (Gerry) Bailey of Hendersonville; one son, David (Liz) Gibson of Thompson Station; one sister, Dot (J.C.) Brown of Rogersville, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Jamie Brown, Matthew Brown both of Murfreesboro, Drew Bailey, Mary Bailey both of Hendersonville, Annie (Brandon) Glenn, April (Eric) Jackson, Allyson Gibson all of Thompson Station; one great-grandson, Tristen Oakley Glenn of Thompson Station; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Chaffin, Russell Cothran, Dr. James B. Kelley, Dr. Mark Robbins and Lori Zulfer.
Deloris D. King
NASHVILLE - Deloris D. King, 62, died Monday, May 10, 2004.
Services were conducted Thursday night at Mt. Moriah Church with Harold Robinson officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Smith Brothers Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Andrew Norfleet
MT. PLEASANT - Mr. Andrew Norfleet, 91, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at his home.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Original Church of God, Railroad Street in Mt. Pleasant with Elder Robert Childress Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Field Cemetery on Hampshire Ridge in Lewis County. The body will lie in state after 3 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Chavers Home, and the family will receive friends form 6-7 p.m. Friday.
A native of Stewart County (Dover), he was the son of the late John and Mattie Lockheart Norfleet. He was a World War II veteran and was a retired employee of the Lasko Co. Two sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary E. (Bobby) McGloffin of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Mary Pauline Webster of Mt. Pleasant and Florizella Brooks of Detroit; two grandsons, Randall McGloffin and Bobby Joe (Laquania) McGloffin; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Linda Sue Foster Hurd
Mrs. Linda Sue Foster Hurd, 50, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at her residence on Coleman Road in Franklin.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Raymond Lee Foster and Mildred Justice Foster. She was a former employee of Black & Decker.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Hurd of Franklin; one daughter, Daniell (Jeff) Kirtley of Columbia; two sons, Richard Glaser of Franklin and Jeremy Glaser of Columbia; one stepson, Gary Hurd of Frankport, Ind.; one sister, Jan (Eddie) Andrews of Columbia; five brothers, Bobby (Martha Ann) Foster of Culleoka, Gearld Dewayne "Toodie" Foster Sr. of Hohenwald, Ray "Donnie" (Donna) Foster of Chapel Hill and Bruce Foster and Jerry Foster, both of Columbia; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a beloved pet dog, Sheba.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Foster.

Cynthia Kaye Morris, 28, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carmack Blvd. Church of Christ with James McCune officiating. Burial will be in Rosemount Cemetery. The body will lie in state Friday at Baxter Bros. Funeral Home.
She was the daughter of Lou Willie Holt and Cecil McKinley Morris, both of Columbia. She was employed by Sprint Phone Co. of Nashville and was a member of the Macedonia Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kelvin Bryant Scribbner.
She is survived by her parents.
Nannie Kathleen Brown
LEWISBURG - Nannie Kathleen Brown, 80, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at St. Thomas Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at London Funeral Home with burial in Bryant Cemetery. Visitation will be until the funeral hour Friday.
She was the daughter of the late Ervie and Julia Ruth Scott Peery. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Brown; and a son, William L. Brown.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Gayle Beever of Lewisburg; sons, Sammy Brown of Lewisburg and Billy Brown of Fayetteville; a sister, Francis Fitzgerald of Columbia; and five grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Clifford Wayne Cothern of Ardmore, Ala., and Judy Ann Willett Campbell of Hohenwald. She was a homemaker.

Joey Lee Burlison

William Howard 'Whitey' Stanfill
Mr. William Howard "Whitey" Stanfill, 68, formerly of Columbia and a resident of Trenton, Mich., died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, in Louisiana.
Services for Mr. Stanfill will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by the Tennessee State Guard. The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

He was retired from Monsanto Chemical Company and served our country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Graymere Church of Christ and the Columbia Elks Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Stacey (Michael) Stanfield of Kenner, La.; a son, Chad Stanfill of Trenton, Mich.; two sisters, Ella Brown "Brownie" Cheatham and George Ann Thurman, both of Columbia; a brother, Jack (Betty) Stanfill of Mt. Juliet; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Nora B. Lindsey, Tommie Stanfill, and Clara Walls; and a brother, J.D. Stanfill.
Pallbearers will be Todd Stanfill, Mike Dawson, Ray Stanfill, Randy Stanfill, Jim Thurman, Larry Thurman, William "Moto" Thurman, Larry Weaver and Barry Devault.

Brenda Faye Fleming Deatherage, 50, died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Crockett Hospital.

She was the daughter of Ethel Mae Williams Glass and the late George Eshell Fleming. She was an assistant store manager at Sav-A-Lot and a member of the Ethridge Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, James Deatherage of Lawrenceburg; a daughter, Tamara Deatherage of Lawrenceburg; a son, Allen Deatherage of Lawrenceburg; stepsons, James R.
