Faustino Zardenetta went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2005. He was born to Antonio and Vicenta Zardenetta on February 15, 1912 in Laredo, Texas, where he spent most of his life until he moved to San Antonio, Texas two years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Elvira; son, Antonio A. and wife, Linda; daughters, Maria del Carmen Barrera and husband, Jose A. and Yolanda J. Pearson and husband, John; grandchildren, Jose A., Jr., Carlos E. and Mario A. Barrera, Jorge A., Guillermo A., Javier E. and Carlos F. Gonzalez; great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to thank Christus Santa Rosa Hospice and Caregivers, Johnnie Lemon, Courtney Camacho and Mary Garzes.

Dorothy Gaines, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2005 at the age of 87.
She was born January 21, 1918 in Lytle, Georgia to the late Robert L. Smith, Sr. and Nancy Lane Smith.
Dorothy was a volunteer for many years at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert L. Smith, Jr. and George W. Smith. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, J. H. Gaines; daughter, Dorothy Hillje and husband, Gus; grandson, Scott Hillje and Lisa; great- granddaughter, Ashley Hillje; great-grandson, Lane Hillje; great-granddaughter, Lauren Hillje; and many family member and friends.
She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Margie Ann Mandry (Skaggs), our beloved mother and grandmother “Meme” entered into rest with our Lord and Savior on Monday, August 29, 2005.
She is survived by her son, Fred Anthony Mandry and wife Lynette; daughter, Claire Grams and husband Vernon; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Alexandra, and Garrett Grams, Kyndall and Kaitlyn Mandry; sisters, Louise Laviolette, Barbara Ann Hayden, Patsy Carney, and Linda Howard; brothers, Rob, Sam and Charles Wenzel; and sister-in-law Joann Kothe.

Dagmar Eva Elsa Garcia

Dagmar Eva Elsa Garcia of San Antonio, TX, much beloved wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 28, 2005 surrounded by all of her loving family after a battle with cancer at the age of 73.
Dagmar was born in Stettin, Germany on October 1, 1931 to parents Walter and Elsa Otto and is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ingrid Berndt and Sigrid Wassmund.
Dagmar was a devoted and loving wife to her surviving husband of 47 years, Rolando Garcia. She was a courageous and inspiring mother to all of her surviving children, Rolando Jr. Garcia, of Benton, AR; Olivia Roberson of Little Rock, AR, Sylvia Heien of Little Rock, AR, Christina Ramsey of Little Rock, AR, Linda Treadwell of San Antonio, TX, Ilona Gordon of San Antonio, TX, Diana Hinojosa of Little Rock. AR, Roger Garcia of Tigard, OR; 25 grandchildren; and best friend Joyce Mabe of Mabank, TX.
She was a Christian lady who always had the Lord in her heart and was a devoted member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Dagmar leaves a legacy of unconditional love, patience, giving, wisdom and courage that will be carried on through her children and husband. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. Dagmar was such a kind and caring person who blessed the lives of all that knew her and she will be forever greatly missed until we meet again.

Bob Hilgenfeld

On August 28, 2005, Bob Hilgenfeld went to be with the Lord. He died of natural causes. Born in Henrietta, Texas, on March 1, 1925. Bob was a very proud graduate of Texas A&M.; He married his childhood sweetheart, Leasie, in 1947, seven years after their first date.
Bob had a long career with Quaker Oats, followed by a distinguished career as VP in charge of purchasing for Church’s Chicken in San Antonio. They lived for 20+ years on the 6th hole of the Live Oak golf course at Fair Oaks. Recently, they moved into town to be closer to family, friends and their church.
Bob and Leasie were fully enjoying retirement, spending time with family and with their many friends. They had a regular Friday outing for dinner with friends they called their “Groupies.” Bob played golf three days per week. In the last month, he realized every golfer’s dream by “shooting his age, ” an 80, and then a 78!
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Leasie; daughter, Jan Leaman and husband, Lee; son, Jim Hilgenfeld and wife, Sherri; daughter, Jenger Waters and husband, Steve; grandchildren Will Leaman and wife, Rachel; Beth Durrett and husband, Marshall; Molly Jones and husband, David; David Waters and fiancé, Robin Grassel; Jill Waters; and Katy Dower and husband, Brad; great grandchildren, Maddi Durrett, Allison Durrett, and Morgan Leaman; and brother, Jack and wife, Betty.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother, William.
Bob would want his friends who read this to not take tomorrow for granted – he was in his best shape in years – so please enjoy every day and hug those you love often.
There will be a private burial in Blue Grove, Texas.

Edgar Joseph

Edgar Joseph, age 90, born in London, England, passed away in San Antonio, TX on Thursday, August 25, 2005.
He held dual citizenship in the United States and Britain.
He is preceded in death by parents, Dick Michael Joseph and Annie Freeda (Trevox) Joseph; and his brother, Stanley Joseph.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Pinsker of Dallas, TX; and her daughter, Jacqueline McCaffrey of New York; nieces, Karen Nayfach of Mexico and Deborah Joseph of CA; nephew, Michael Joseph of San Antonio; and numerous, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Edgar was educated through a prestigious university in England and served in the British Military during World War II in Africa.
Known for always being a gentleman, he studied music, opera and stage.
He was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim and Temple Beth-El.
Edgar was a successful entrepreneur for five decades with his business, Jaytan Leather Company.
He was loved by his family, friends and neighbors and will be dearly missed.

Anthony De Lorenzo
Born in San Antonio, Texas on Nov. 8, 1967

Anthony (Tony) De Lorenzo, of San Antonio, born November 8, 1967, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the age of 37 years.
Tony was a graduate of Lee High School. He attended New Mexico State University, where he was a four year starter on the football team. He was vice president of Communities Compliance Corp. at the time of his death.
He is survived by his daughter, Morgan De Lorenzo; parents, Ernest and Stephanie De Lorenzo; sister, Michele De Lorenzo; nephew, Michael Fraser; nieces, Amanda and Victoria Mathis.

Eugene W. Erickson

Eugene Warner “Eric” Erickson passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 24, 2005. He was born September 3, 1917 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Friedaborg Erickson, who came to this country from Sweden.
Eric attended the University of Minnesota and became an accountant and comptroller. He was an Emeritus Life Associate and 50 year member of the Institute of Management Accountants.
In 1943, he met the love of his life “Penny” while stationed in San Antonio.
During World War II, Eric proudly served his country as a navigator/bombardier on B-25’s in the Pacific Theatre with the US Army Air Corps. As Captain, he was an instructor and navigator/bombardier of B-29’s in the Korean War with the US Air Force at Randolph AFB.
Eric was an active member of St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. Above all, he was a loving husband, devoted father, and caring grandfather.
His life revolved around his family and time spent together, especially in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and sharing his knowledge of the magnificent stars and constellations.
Eric is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elline Marie “Penny” Erickson and his three daughters, Gaye DeFosset and husband, Tom; Terrie Musselman and husband, Jamie; and Wendy Erickson. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Nick DeFosset and wife, Rebecca of Round Rock, TX; Erick DeFosset of Catarina, TX; Marcus DeFosset; Becky Gulley and husband, Loren; J.B. Musselman and fiancée, Callie Crockard; Melanie Musselman; George Musselman; and several nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the care provided by Vista Care Hospice, especially Kathy.

Eva F. Levinson

Eva Friend Levinson, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2005.
Husband, Mose Levinson and daughter, Sharon Faye preceded her in death.
Over the years Eva was active in numerous organizations. She volunteered much of her time to Hadassah and was honored by that organization on numerous occasions.
She is survived by sons, Charles and wife, Fran, and Daniel and wife, Stacy; brother, Martin Friend, Chicago; sisters, Vera Berman, Chicago and Mary Lieberman, Houston; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
