Sara L. Jarvis, 62, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006, in San Antonio, TX.
She was born September 20, 1943, in Noblesville, IN, to the late C. Hollis and Frances M. Hamble.
Sara is survived by her daughters, Beth Stevens of San Antonio, TX and Kimberly F. Moore of Canyon Lake, TX; brothers, Thomas L. Hamble of Fairmount, IN and Charles L. Hamble of Amherst, VA; five grandchildren; four nieces; and two nephews.

Col. Frank T. Blalock, III, USAF (Ret)
Born in Jonesborough, AR on Dec. 13, 1939
Died May 7, 2006 and resided in San Antonio, TX.

Col. Frank T. Blalock III, USAF (Ret.), age 66, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2006, in San Antonio, Texas.
A graduate of Baylor University, he retired from the Air Force after thirty years of active duty. He served as the Hospital Commander at numerous hospitals throughout the world and served as Base Commander in Turkey and Japan. Col. Blalock retired from the Bexar County Health Department as the Assistant Director. He was currently serving as Chief of Staff with the Texas State Guard, as well as on the Sisters of Charity Board of Directors and the State Medical Board of Directors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Blalock, and his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Blalock. He is survived by his brothers-in-law, Howard L. Hulsman and wife Debbie of Livingston, Louie F. Hulsman and wife Donna of Lufkin, and Clifford G. Hulsman and wife Deloris of Hurst; sisters-in-law, Marcella De Priest of Abilene, and Alma Cartwright and husband Ken of Fresno, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cherlyn "Sheri" Jean Crider

Cherlyn “Sheri” Jean Crider, devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt peacefully departed at her home in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday, May 10, 2006.
Sheri was born in Brownwood, Texas on December 14, 1946. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and spent her professional career as a recognized sales agent for Datapoint and USAA.
Her family was the love and purpose of her life. Her greatest joys were spoiling her grandchildren, cooking for her family, tending to her garden and caring for her beloved dogs. Her love and affection will be greatly missed by all who truly knew her.
Cherlyn was preceded in death by her step-father, Merl A. Huebner and step-daughter, Lisa Sanchez. She leaves behind her parents, Edith Huebner and Arthur Deffee; sister, Denise Richards; children, Roger Crider and wife, Kenda, Robert Crider and wife, Lisa, DanCee Bowers and husband, Stefan, and Randy Crider and wife, Jenny; grandchildren, Winston, Wyatt, Kendall, Kaitlyn, Jackson and Quinn; niece, Brandi Richards; step-brother, Dennis Huebner; numerous family and friends.

Ivan J. Tribbey

Lt. Col Ivan Jay Tribbey, USAF (Ret) age 82, left this earth on Tuesday, May 9, 2006. He was born on a ranch in Capron, OK. Van attended 1st through 12th grades in Medford, OK. He enlisted in the U.S.M.C. 1942-1945 as PFC Machine Gunner and fought five battles in the Pacific Theatre in WWII. From 1946-1948 he attended NOJC. Van graduated from Wichita University in 1950. He was then Commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the USAF and called to active duty in the Korean War, and also served 2 years in Vietnam. He retired on July 18, 1970. Van’s total military duties were 22 years, 10 months and 15 days. He went on to serve with the Texas Employment Commission for 16 years. Van was preceded in death by his parents, Treverton and Effie Tribbey and sister, Silence Sieker. He is survived by his son, Terry Tribbey and wife Norine of San Antonio; daughters: Vaughn Tinder and husband Paul of San Antonio, Vicki Robertson and husband Tim of Boerne, TX, Janet Christensen and husband Jan of Port Ludlow, WA, and Nicki Patterson and husband Danny of Kilgore, TX ; grandsons: Wesley Tribbey, Josiah Christensen, Chase Patterson and Tim Robertson; granddaughters: Chelsea Peterson, Ashley Nicholson, Laura Patterson-Smith, Anna and Moriah Christensen, and Elizabeth and Madison Tinder; great grandchildren: Hunter Peterson, Macy and Nolan Nicholson, and Daisy Tribbey; brother, Jon Tribbey; and sister, Terri Muir; former wife and mother of his children, Dorothy Jo McCartney.

Peggy De Lay

Peggy Lance De Lay was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the age of 85.
The only child of the late Mrs. Florence Brink Lance was born on March 30, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan.
Peggy worked in Civil Service at Kelly Air Force Base where she met the love of her life, the late Dan De Lay, whom she married in 1952.
She was a long time member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, the St. Anthony Seniors, and the St. Anthony Arts and Crafts club and was fondly known to her family and friends as “Peaches”.
Peggy’s membership also included the Boerne Shooting Club and the Quarter Century Wireless Hamm Club.
She is survived by her cousins, Carol Keeter and husband, James; Larry Hansen, Jr. and wife, JoAnn; Mike Hansen, Sr. and wife, Rita; Kimberly K. Stoner and husband, Tim; Jim Keeter Jr. and wife, Kim; Richard Ressling, DDS and wife, Janet; Linda Hansen; Jerry Wayne Ressling, Ginger H. Hurley, Jim Keeter, Jr., Trey Hansen, Michael Hansen, Jr., R. Gray Hansen, Brett Hansen, Barrett Hansen, Betsy H. Thornton, Rene R. Wiley, Robin R. Ballew, Stephen Ressling, Wendy R. Tapp Stanly Taylor
Born in Corydon, Kentucky on Jun. 24, 1946

Tapp Stanly Taylor, died in San Antonio Texas on May 06, 2006.
She was born on the family farm June 24, 1946 in Henderson County, Kentucky to the late Thelma Lucille and Prentice Tapp.
Her mother died at an early age and she was raised by her father and step-mother, the late Catherine Betts Tapp.
She earned a BA in education from the University of Kentucky in 1968. After moving to Houston in 1970, she became a lifelong educator teaching in the Houston I.S.D. and North Hampton Elementary in the Klein I.S.D.
At the time of her death she was an eigth grade teacher at Albright Middle School in the Alief I.S.D.
She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Richmond Texas.
Her brother R. C. Tapp preceded her in death in 1971.
Survivors include her daughter, care taker, the joy of her life, Sakkara Stanly Biggs and husband Barry Biggs, sister Gale Owens and husband Brownie, nephews Carlyle Owens and wife Gwen, Jonathan Owens and wife Jennifer and niece Cathy Owens Hallman and husband Richard.

Raymond O. Swann, M.D.
Born in Staten Island, NY on Mar. 24, 1923
Died May 3, 2006 and resided in San Antonio, TX.

Raymond O. Swann M.D. died on May 3, 2006, at the age of 83 from complications related to Parkinson's disease.
His loving wife Edith stayed at his bedside until the end, providing care and affection as she had for their 59 years of marriage.
He was born March 24, 1923 on Staten Island, NY to Charles and Sigrid Swann who met in New York City after immigrating as teenagers from Sweden and Norway respectively. He attended Wagner College and graduated from New York Medical College. While in medical school, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a physician on a navy vessel during the Korean War. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa where he was on the teaching staff. He retired from medicine in 1988 after 28 years of private practice in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he served his patients with dedication, compassion, and skill.
Friends and family admired his keen intellect and his passion for the practice and study of medicine. Skilled in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, Ray built a cottage on the shores of a northern Michigan lake where his children spent summer days and then later brought their own children to learn how to sail, fish, and canoe.
He is survived by his wife Edith Swann of San Antonio and son Karl Swann, M.D. and his wife Lisa of San Antonio and their children Kathryn, Matthew, and Paul; and daughter Cynthia Swann M.D. and her husband Larry Greif, M.D. of San Antonio and their children Stephen, Evan, and Charlotte; a sister, Barbara Pineau and her husband Marty Pineau of Bridgton, Maine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Ray's friends, the Pastors Steve Rode and Michael Coffey of Christ Lutheran Church, and all health care providers, especially those at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital, the Rehab Unit at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital, North Central Baptist Hospital, and the Stone Oak Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to Christ Lutheran Church, 6720 Broadway 78209 and the American Parkinson Disease Association 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Suite 4B, Staten Island, NY 10305-1946.

Cliff Morton
Born in Elk City, OK on Aug. 12, 1932

Cliff Morton, prominent homebuilder and well-known civic and political leader died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 9, at home. He was 73. The cause of death was cardiac arrest.
Born August 8, 1932, in Elk City, Oklahoma, he moved to West Texas with his family when he was nine-years-old. His parents, Eugene and Ruby Morton, farmed in Big Square near Muleshoe, and Cliff attended Earth-Spring Lake Consolidated Schools. Upon graduation from high school, he went to Baylor University, where he was a member of ROTC.
Cliff graduated from Baylor in 1954 and immediately entered the U.S. Air Force as a First Lieutenant stationed at Lackland AFB’s flight training school. At the end of his training, he remained at Lackland and taught basic training until 1957.
In 1957, he entered St. Mary’s University School of Law and also worked in sales at International Motor Co. In 1959, just a semester shy of graduation from law school, he left to join Quincy Lee Homes as sales manager.
Lee and Morton became partners in the early 1960s, and the company changed its name to Morton and Lee. In the early 1970s, Cliff bought Lee’s interest in the business, and formed Morton Southwest, one of San Antonio’s largest homebuilders.
In the 1980s, under the name of Morton Homes, the company expanded from homebuilding into the ownership of nursing care facilities throughout Texas as well as pecan orchards and commercial development.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Judy Nuhn Morton; daughter, Leah Morton of Boulder, CO; sister, Mary Etheridge of San Antonio; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Loyd and Mitzi Dreher of Austin and Vivian and A.D. Nuhn, Jr. of New Braunfels; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Devin Gregory Vara
Born in San Antonio, TX on Dec. 9, 1984
Died May 7, 2006 and resided in San Antonio, TX.

Devin Gregory Vara, age 21, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2006.
As a former graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 2003, Devin was a student at UTSA where his Major was Business.
He will be remembered as being quiet, loving, very friendly and had a passion for cooking. He had a vast knowledge of all sports and statistics.
Devin is survived by his loving parents, Rose and Domingo Vara; brothers, Domingo Vara III and wife, Giovanna, and David Vara; sisters, Brenda Vara-Rodriguez and husband, John, and Gina Vara; grandmother, Bertha Vara; nephews, Vincenzo and Nicholas Vara; nieces, Tiffani and Vanessa Vara; his long time friend, Amanda Zapata; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
