John F. Parnell Jr., 75, of Richardson died Aug. 10, 2000 at Heritage Manor in Plano.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Magnolia Cemetery.
A native of Jasper, he lived in Beaumont and Richardson and was a retired Sun Oil Co. accountant and a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his son, John Doty Parnell of Richardson; daughter, Jennie Lou Parnell of Garland; and grandchildren, Tracie Ann Moseley of Mesquite and Michael Andrew Moseley of Keller.

Archie Hoy Rea, 72, of Orange died Aug. 12, 2000 at Summit Hospital in Sulphur, La.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial at Mitchell Cemetery in Burkeville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A resident of Orange, he was a retired Levingston Shipbuilding Co. shipfitter.
Survivors include his wife, Elda M. Rea of Orange; stepsons, Floyd Comeaux, Ray Comeaux and Larry Comeaux, all of Sulphur; stepdaughter, Esther Howard of San Antonio; and brother, James Rea of Burkeville.
JERRY DALE SCAIFE SR.
Jerry Dale Scaife Sr., 70, of Beaumont died Aug. 10, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Remains were donated to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston under the direction of Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. A visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at 3130 Concord Road.
A lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was a DuPont plant operator and a World War II and Korean War U.S. SERVICE veteran.
Survivors include his son, Jerry Dale Scaife Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Paula K. Merendino of Beaumont; sisters, Claire Ponthieu of Plano, JoAnne Bellaire of Beaumont and Peggy McCullough and Frances Cain, both of Orange; and three grandchildren.

Beatrice Scott, 80, of San Augustine died Aug. 11, 2000 in San Augustine.
Funeral will be at 4:30 p.m. today at White Rock Baptist Church with burial at Old Salem Cemetery under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine.
A longtime resident of San Augustine, she was retired from the food service industry in the nursing home business.
Survivors include her husband, Hershel Scott of San Augustine; son, Hursh Gene of San Augustine; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Donald G. Stanley, 64, of Starks, La., died Aug. 11, 2000 at his residence.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton, La., with burial at Clark Cemetery in Starks.
A native of Johnson Bayou, La., he lived in Starks many years and was a retired electrician and shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Braneff Stanley of Starks; son, Donald Stanley of Deweyville; daughters, Iris June Harkness of Orange and Jana Williams of Deweyville; brother, Ervin Stanley of Starks; sisters, Eula Mae Bass of Starks, Nancy Ann Stanley of Beaumont and Peggy McCullough of Merryville, La.; stepfather, Hobby Stanley of Starks; and eight grandchildren.

Marion Hortense Wilson, 72, of Anahuac died Aug. 11, 2000 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with burial at Martha Godfrey Cemetery in Double Bayou under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Winnie. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
A lifelong resident of Double Bayou, she lived in Anahuac and was a retired Anahuac Independent School District custodian.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Wilson of Double Bayou; stepsons, James Wilson of Dayton and Larry Wilson of Houston; daughter, Hattie Kirkwood of Double Bayou; stepdaughter, Bertha Phillips of Houston; brothers, Aaron Humphrey and Issac Humphrey Jr., both of Double Bayou; sister, Ophelia Slade of Baytown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Dorothy LaVelle Cooper, 89, of Beaumont died Aug. 11, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A native of Silsbee, she lived in Beaumont most of her life and was the former Gulf Coast Cattleman’s Magazine publisher.

J.C. Fisher, 80, of West Orange died Aug. 12, 2000 at Oakwood Manor in Vidor.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cove Baptist Church in Orange with graveside services at 3 p.m. at Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A native of Robeline, La., and longtime resident of Orange area, he was a retired DuPont Sabine River Works operator, the Cove Baptist Church deacon and a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his son, Larry Fisher of Orange; sisters, Ruby Campbell and Bertie Grimes, both of Vidor; and two grandchildren.

Mildred Reid, 84, of Nederland died Aug. 13, 2000 at Mid-Jefferson Hospital.

A native of Frost, she lived in Nederland many years and was a homemaker.

Reverend Charles Mathews Wyatt-Brown, 84, of Port Royal, S.C., died Aug. 13, 2000 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, S.C.
A memorial service will be held at a later date under the direction of Copeland Funeral Home in Beaufort.
A former resident of Beaumont and Houston, he lived in Beaufort. He was the former rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont and had been the acting rector of St. Helena’s Episcopal Church in Beaufort.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Shepherd Quintard Wyatt-Brown of Beaufort; daughters, Alexandra Wyatt-Brown Malick and Darrell Wyatt-Brown Kirkland, both of Austin and Laura "Lindy" Wyatt-Brown Neuhaus of Houston; brothers, Hunter Wyatt-Brown of Beaufort and Bertram Wyatt-Brown of Gainesville, Fla.; sister, Laura Wyatt-Brown James of Barnes, London, England; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, he lived in Beaumont several years and was associated with Goodwill Industries.
