WAXAHACHIE - Funeral services for Martha Fitzhugh, 85, were held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 in St. Paul Episcopal Church in Waxahachie.
Born on Aug. 26, 1915 in Baxter, Ark., the daughter of Graham C. and Marian (Loper) Thompson, she passed away Jan. 9, 2001 at Renfro Healthcare Center.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers Graham, Leon and James Thompson and sister Marian Thompson; she is survived by two sons W. Jordan Fitzhugh and wife Karen of Yorktown, Va. and Chuck Fitzhugh and wife Elizabeth of Waxahachie; four sisters Mildred Gage of Little Rock, Bettye Owen of Cumming, Ga., Dorothy Wharton of Tallahassee, Flor. and Jeane Maultsby of Orange; four grandchildren Sydney Ann Culp and husband David, David Fitzhugh, Angela Fitzhugh and Annette Winborne and husband Lynn and two great-grandchildren Amanda and Byron Winborne.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Episcopal Church Building Fund in memory of Martha Fitzhugh and mailed to 308 N. Monroe, Waxahachie, Tx. 75165.
Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 in St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Monticello, Ark. with Stephenson-Dearbon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Josephine Jealene Green
July 20, 1927 - Jan. 10, 2001

WAXAHACHIE - Graveside services for Josephine Jealene Green were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 at Waxahachie City cemetery with Minister Ray Raney officiating.
Born on July 20, 1927 in Ellis County, the daughter of Johnnie and Roselee Hanna, she passed away Jan. 10, 2001.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Scott Dyson of Rice; two brothers Johnnie Hanna of Mesquite and Herman Hanna of Richardson; three sisters Shirley Foster of Mesquite, Louise Buckelew of Garland and Joyce Beckham of Waxahachie and two grandchildren Ashlee and Brittney Dyson of Rice.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

J.B. Griffith
Oct. 8, 1929 - Jan. 9, 2001

AVALON - Funeral services for J.B. Griffith, 71 of Avalon, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Howard Bright officiating.
Born on Oct. 8, 1929 in Palmer, the son of Frank William and Jewel Inez (Wooley) Griffith, he passed away Jan. 9, 2001 in Avalon.
Preceded in death by his father, wife Emma Inez, son Gerald William and brother Max; he is survived by his mother Jewel Inez Wooley; two daughters Jo Evelyn Dial of Royse City and Robin Rene Shindler and husband Phillip Glenn of Quinlan; brother Clyde Griffith of Avalon; two sisters Betty Frank Arnold of Hope, Ark. and Mary Beth Kirton of Waxahachie; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and special niece and nephew Larry and Brenda Griffith.
Pallbearers were Larry Griffith, Clyde Griffith Jr., B.J. Steele, Joey Kirton, James (Bub) Downe and Russ Lewis.
Interment followed in the Kramer cemetery in Wylie under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Sarah Elizabeth Little
March 10, 1912 - Jan. 14, 2001

WAXAHACHIE - Funeral arrangements for Sarah Elizabeth Little, of Waxahachie, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2001 at First Assembly of God Church in Des Moines, Iowa with Rev. Ray Henderson officiating.
Born on March 10, 1912 in Ada, Okla., the daughter of Harrison and Roselyn Bailey, she passed away Jan. 14, 2001 at Renfro Living Care Center.
She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law John D. and Shirley Little of Alvord, James D. and Mickey Little of Waxahachie, Paul E. and Alyce Little of Tucson, Ariz., Benjamin Guy and Stevie Little of Red Oak and Timothy J. and Cherry Little of Waxahachie; daughter Mary E. Cromwell and husband Chuck of Lodi, Calif.; sisters Goldie Boyd, Beulah Eppens; grandchildren Daniel C. Little, Steven J. Little and wife Leigh, David P. Little and wife Beth, Brenda Papais and husband Daniel, Todd B. Little and wife Dawn, Matthew G. Little and wife Summer, Michael J. Little and wife Janice, Timothy M. Little and wife Caron, Rhonda Butcher and husband Tommy, DeWayne Robbins and wife DeAn, Lisa Da Voodi and husband David, Cindy Varley and husband Matt, Joyce Josten and husband Scott, Sylvia Paul and husband Steve; and great-grandchildren Rebecca, Ashleigh, Steven, Austin, Tyler, Lindsey, Laura, Laura, JoAnna, Mikel, Lacy, Mitchell, Jimmy, Zackary, Sheradon, Kristin, Loren, Rachel, Melody, Felicia, Nathan, Ashleigh, Lindsey, Tanner, Houston, Katherine, Jonathan, London, Alair, Joshua, Jordan and Joelle.
Pallbearers were David P. Little, Daniel C. Little, Matthew G. Little, Michael J. Little, Steven J. Little and Todd B. Little. Honorary pallbearers were David M. Little, DeWayne Little and Timothy M. Little.
Interment followed in Pine Hill cemetery, Township-Saylor in Polk City, Iowa under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Ruth Evelyn Norton
July 23, 1925 - Jan. 10, 2001

WAXAHACHIE - Funeral services for Ruth Evelyn Norton, of Waxahachie, were kept private for family only.
Born on July 23, 1925 in New York City, N.Y., the daughter of Charles and Naoma Kelly, she passed away Jan. 10, 2001 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.
She is survived by her husband Bernard Norton; daughter and son-in-law Ruth Ann and Larry Hodges of Waxahachie; two brothers and sisters-in-law Michael and Lu Ann Bettin of New Jersey and William and Aurora Norton of Arizona; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Mary Christine Smith Willingham
May 13, 1934 - Jan. 9, 2001

RED OAK - Funeral services for Mary Christine Smith Willingham, 66 of Red Oak, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 in the Red Oak Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Adams officiating.
Born on May 13, 1934 in Colgate, Okla., the daughter of Clarence and Georgia Hogue Waggoner, she passed away Jan. 9, 2001 in Lancaster.
She is survived by her son Roy Smith of Red Oak; daughter Pamela Rapier of Red Oak; brothers Bill Waggoner of Okla., Floyd Waggoner of Sherman and Harold Waggoner of Sherman; sisters Betty Trunzler of Bonham and Sybil Lay of Wills Point; grandchildren Adam and Abby Smith and 16 nieces and nephews.
Interment followed in the Red Oak cemetery under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.

Della Manes

WAXAHACHIE – Funeral services for Della Manes, 64 of Waxahachie, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001 in the Community Fellowship Pentecostal Church of Lancaster with Pastor Floyd Manes officiating.
Born on Nov. 9, 1936 in Royse City, the daughter of Clyde and Ruby (Sullivan) Smiler, she passed away Jan. 20, 2001 at her residence.
Preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her husband Pastor Jesse Manes; two sons Paul Timothy Manes and wife Sylene and Jesse Anthony Manes all of Waxahachie; two brothers Bobby Smiler and wife Marian of Georgia and Gerald Smiler and wife Sherry of Cedar Hill; three sisters Susie Morlock of Carrollton, Peggy Hall and husband Boyd of Red Oak and Shirley Daniel and husband Ray of Beckley Heights; and grandchild Dylan Manes.
Interment followed in the DFW National cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

R. Henry Price

WAXAHACHIE – Graveside services for R. Henry Price, 98 of Waxahachie, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 at Hillcrest Burial Park.
Born on Nov. 14, 1902 in Odessa, the son of Frank and Grace (Chalker) Price, he passed away Jan. 19, 2001 in Waxahachie.
He is survived by his wife Irene Price; two daughters Patsy Dale Roe of Lewisville and Betty Jane Anderson of Lubbock; two sons-in-law; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters Dottie Turk of Midland and Ted Ellis of Andrews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Kenneth Ray Shue

Born on Aug. 24, 1937 in Alma, the son of Virgil and Hazel Vessell Shue, he passed away Jan. 15, 2001 in Lancaster.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Shue of Red Oak; daughters Terry Sheftner of Austin and Marie Gunnells of Rowlett; brothers Derwin Shue of Ennis, Don Shue of Lancaster, Lawrence Shue of Red Oak and David Shue of Red Oak; sister Diane Dickerson of Red Oak; grandchildren Justin Smith, Kelly McKeev and Garret Gunnells; step-mother Edith Shue of Red Oak and mother Hazel Marriott of Missouri.
Interment followed in the Red Oak cemetery under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.

PALMER – Funeral services for Oscar J. Wilson, 79 of Palmer, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001 at Laurel Land Chapel with Rev. Larry Rolison officiating.
Born on Dec. 20, 1921 in Annison, the son of Ernest A. and Betty Wheat Wilson, he passed away Jan. 19, 2001.
Proceeded in death by brothers and sisters JC Wilson, Melburn Wilson, Wallace Wilson, Gene Wilson, Herman Wilson, Sissy Saunders and Ludy Lane; he is survived by his wife of 59 years Dessie Oakley Wilson; seven children and spouses including Johnny Wilson and Betty, Ernest Wilson and Phyllis, Joe Wilson and Rosemary, Betty Skinner and Jim, Larry Wilson, Michael Wilson and Mary, and Sandra Hartsell and Quinn; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers Douglas Wilson, Hal Wilson and Melvin Wilson; and three sisters Fannie Bell Reynolds, Patsy Ruth Robinson and Georgia Boatright.
Pallbearers were Billy White, Chad Wilson, Bubba Wilson, Jason White, Tommy Dulworth and James Chandler.
Interment followed in the Laurel Land cemetery.

Elizabeth Autry Conner
May 18, 1918 – Jan. 25, 2001

WAXAHACHIE – Funeral services for Elizabeth Autry Conner were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2001 at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Mark Green, Rev. L.W. Dollar, Rev. Earl Teeter and Rev. Larry Coulter officiating.
Born on May 18, 1918 in San Antonio, the daughter of Walter and Annie Autry, she passed away Jan. 25, 2001 in Fort Worth.
She is survived by son Arlan Conner; daughter Carole Conner Poynter; seven grandchildren Brian Kirk Paschall, Kimberly Conner Coulter, Kipling Wade Paschall, Christy Conner Slade, Kreyton Conner Paschall, Keaton Arian Conner and Tressa Elizabeth Poynter; four brothers Robert Autry, Van Autry, Sidney Autry and Walter T. Autry; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
