James Edwin Brown

MILFORD - Funeral services for James Edwin Brown, 64 of Milford, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2001 in the First Baptist Church in Milford with Rev. John Wheatley and Rev. Scott Fenton officiating.
Born on July 31, 1936 in Birome, the son of Harry Victor and Etta Mozelle (Sartor) Brown, he passed away Feb. 7, 2001 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife Annette (Anderson) Brown of Milford; four daughters Daphne Diane Hajovsky and husband Randy of Midlothian, Melissa Deon Brown of Waxahachie, Jamette (Jamie) D'An Cohen and husband Scott of San Antonio and Cassandra Delane Marek and husband David of Hewitt; brother Henry Vic Brown and wife Carolyn of Bosqueville; two sisters Barbara Etta Brown Suratt and husband Weldom of Watauga and Janet Brown Delapi and husband Tony of Birome; foster daughter Karen Manning Stevens and husband Daivd and their two sons Hunter and Eric of Orange; and seven grandchildren Kevin and Matt Hajovsky, Daniel and Samantha Cohen, Brenna and Johnathan Stansell and Katherine Marek.
Pallbearers were Mike McGinnis, Dee Heidelberg, William Kyle, David Hill, Rick Hendry and Johnnie Youngblood. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Paroski, Steve Moore, Perry Moore, Bruce Carlson, L.C. Williams, Cliff Strange and Mackie Mize.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Milford Capital Improvement Fund in memory of James Brown or the Thelma Tyler Scholarship Fund c/o Milford Bank, Milford, TX 76670.
Interment followed in the Milford cemetery under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Belen A. Chavez
Jan. 31, 1959 - Feb. 4, 2001

ENNIS - Mass of Christian Burial services for Belen A. Chavez, 42 of Ennis, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001 in St. Johns Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell as celebrant.
Born on Jan. 31, 1959 in Nocupetare, Michuacan, Mexico, the daughter of Lamberto and Epiphania Zarco Avila, she passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 at the Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband Antonio of Ennis; four sons Gerardo Chavez, Adrian Chavez, Candelario Chavez and Antonio Chavez Jr. all of Ennis; parents of Mexico; three brothers Salvador Avila, Nabor Avila and Ignacio Avila; five sisters Reyna Avila, Margarita Garcia, Lucia Avila, Maria Gamieo and Mariabad Avila; and grandparents Juan Zarco and Teofila Zarco of Mexico.
Pallbearers were Antonio Chavez Sr., Gerardo Chavez, Adrian Chavez, Juan Chavez, Juan Arreola and Andres Arreola.
Interment followed in the St. Joseph cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.

Leonard S. Claunch Sr.
July 17, 1925 - Feb. 8, 2001

MAYPEARL - Funeral services for Leonard S. Claunch Sr., 75 of Maypearl, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel.
Born on July 17, 1925 in Maypearl, the son of John Parks and Madge (Corbin) Claunch, he passed away Feb. 8, 2001 at Medical Center in Arlington.
Preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; he is survived by two sons Leonard S. Claunch Jr. and wife Ann of Duncanville and John Loyd Claunch of Cedar Hill; daughter Cindy Muhr and husband Bill of Mansfield; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Interment followed in the Maypearl cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Mildred Avis Koonce
Dec. 14, 1920 - Feb. 10, 2001

MAYPEARL - Funeral services for Mildred Avis Koonce, 80 of Maypearl, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001 in the Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Kinnamon officiating.
Born on Dec. 14, 1920 in Houston, the daughter of Alfred and Euphia Mae Manuel, she passed away Feb. 10, 2001 at her home.
Preceded in death by her husband Ernest M. Koonce, son Terry Koonce and her parents; she is survived by two sons Ray Koonce and Gary Koonce and wife Lynn both of Waxahachie; two brothers Deering Manuel of Taft and Dale Manuel of Leakey; two sisters Arvie Herron of Elgin and Lucille Becker of Austin; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Oak Branch cemetery under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Gertrude G. Larson
Nov. 28, 1924 - Feb. 5, 2001

ENNIS - Funeral services for Gertrude G. Larson, 76 of Ennis, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001 in the Keever Chapel with Pastor Norman Finke officiating.
Born on Nov. 28, 1924 in Mullens, W.V., the daughter of Clarence and Charity Goins Gardner, she passed away Feb. 5, 2001 at Claystone Manor Nursing Home in Ennis.
Preceded in death by two sisters Bodie and Alice; she is survived by her husband Paul of Ennis; five sons Kenneth W. Larson of Corinth, Keith Allen Larson of Duncanville, Timothy P. Larson of Plano, Ward I. Bralley and Michael Bralley both of Houston; and several grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ken Larson, Keith Larson, Tim Larson, Mike Bralley, Ron Larson and Jim Feistner.
Interment followed in the Myrtle cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.

Wendell F. McNees
April 22, 1920 - Feb. 5, 2001

AUSTIN - Graveside services for Wendell F. McNees, of Austin, were held at 10 a.m. at the DFW National cemetery.
Born on April 22, 1920 in Walters, Okla., the son of Wendell Costello and Edna (LaCosta) McNees, he passed away Feb. 5, 2001 in Austin.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Max Ervan McNees and sister Myrl Jean McNees; he is survived by his wife Patricia McNees of Austin; brother Earl Dean McNees and his wife Curtis of Melborne, Flor.; sister Berneva Ray of Waxahachie; four nieces Linda McCasland, Sandra Vann, Sherry Davis and Debbie Williams.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Bernice Lillian White
Nov. 14, 1906 - Feb. 7, 2001

WAXAHACHIE - Graveside services for Bernice Lillian White, 94 of Waxahachie, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001 at Hillcrest Burial Park with Pastor Jim McGaha officiating.
Born on Nov. 14, 1906 in Ike, the daughter of J.B. and Carrie Roberson, she passed away Feb. 7, 2001 at Renfro Healthcare Center.
Preceded in death by her husband Earl White in 1954 and son Jimmy White in 1976; she is survived by two nephews Glenn White of Mansfield and Ray White of Venus; three nieces Patsy Dees and Judy Baird both of Midlothian and Nancy Allen of Beaumont and cousin Monie Fay McPike of Glenn Heights.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Ronnie L. Vitovsky
March 30, 1948 - April 3, 2001

ALMA - Mass of Christian Burial services for Ronnie L. Vitovsky, 53 of Alma, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2001 in St. Johns Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell celebrant.
Born on March 30, 1948 in Ennis, the son of Louis and Mildred Nekuza Vitovsky, he passed away April 3, 2001 at his home.
He is survived by his son and his wife Bryan and Evette Vitovsky of Ennis; two daughters and their husbands Julia and Glenn Zabojnik, and Vickie and Greg Housewright all of Ennis; four brothers Tony Vitovsky, Alan Vitovsky, Gary Vitovsky all of Ennis and Jimmy Vitovsky; sister Sheila Bridger of Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren Aubry and Ashlyn.
Pallbearers were Louis Bobby Zabojnik, Francis Rogala, Richard Miller, Tony Vitovsky, Tony Liska and Emil Zabonik.
Interment followed in the St. Josephs cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.

James N. Finch

ARLINGTON - Funeral services for James N. Finch, 86 of Arlington, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001 in the Red Oak Funeral Home Chapel with Kirk Shelton officiating.
Born on Aug. 1, 1914 in Athens, the son of William Walter and Minnie May Edwards Finch, he passed away April 3, 2001 in Ft. Worth.
He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Rhodes of Arlington; son Jimmy Finch of Athens; sisters Thelma Gordon of Garland, Lola Buchanan of Corsicana and Helen Martin of Amarillo; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Edgewood cemetery in Lancaster under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.

Rev. Haves R. White
April 6, 1917 - April 7, 2001

ENNIS - Funeral services for Rev. Haves R. White, 84 of Ennis, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001 in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Brown and Rev. Richard Moody officiating.
Born on April 6, 1917 in Altoona, Pa., the son of Oscar and Mary Gilbert White, he passed away April 7, 2001 at his home.
Preceded in death by a sister Lottie and son Hunter; he is survived by his wife Lee; three sons Reynolds, Gilbert and Roger; two daughters Betsy and Jennifer; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister Romayne of Beaver Falls, Pa.
Pallbearers were Gilbert White, Roger Beaman, Pat Hamilton, Reynolds White, Terry Hamilton, Roger Beaman Jr. and Johnathan Pitts-Beaman.
Interment followed in the Myrtle cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
