Mark A. Maliff
April 11, 1958 - Aug. 12, 2006

WAXAHACHIE - Funeral services for Mark A. Maliff, 48 of Waxahachie, are to be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 in the Keever Chapel.
Born April 11, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of John J. and Barbara Freeman Maliff, he passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at the Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.
On Jan. 8, 1993 he was married to Stephanie Walters. They lived in Lewisville where he was employed in street maintenance by the city for 15 years. They resided in Waxahachie for the last seven years.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie of Waxahachie; son Steven John Richard Maliff of Waxahachie; parents John and Barbara Maliff of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two brothers John Maliff of Deerfield Beach, Fla. and Paul Maliff of Ashfield, Mass.; and a sister and her husband, Jean and Ed Eottum of Raleigh, N.C.
Interment will follow in the Bristol cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.

Thomas E. Powell
May 26, 1937 - Aug. 11, 2006

BARDWELL - Funeral services for Thomas E. Powell, 69 of Bardwell, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006 in the Keever Chapel with Robert Moore officiating.
Born May 26, 1937 in Eden, the son of James T. and Juanita Haynes Powell, he passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at his home in Bardwell.
He was a graduate of Adamson High School. On Jan. 1, 1967 he was married to Janice Bowman.
Preceded in death by his parents; he is survived by his wife Janice M. Powell of Bardwell; his sister and her husband Joyce and Bob Freudiger of Holly Lake, Tex.; his daughters and sons-in-law Paula and Marcos Lassos, Linda and Kem Ventrca, Sherry and Larry Davis all of Bardwell and Karen and Ron Hudson of Carrollton; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Elm Branch cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.

Billy Ray Goodwin
June 23, 1933 – Aug. 15, 2006

WAXAHACHIE – Funeral services for Billy Ray Goodwin were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 in The Foursquare Family Church in Waxahachie.
Born June 23, 1933 in Hillsboro, the son of Laura Bell Walker and James William Goodwin, he passed away Aug. 15, 2006 at his home.
Preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Buster and Ester Armstrong; daughter Belinda Neal Goodwin Smith; sister Bertha Lee Warren and brother Charles Monroe Goodwin; he is survived by his wife of 51 years Maggie Goodwin; four daughters and sons-in-law Virginia and Bubba Barnett of Waxahachie, Laura and Bryan Jeffcoat of Melissa, Lisa and Jerry Coulston of Whitewright and LueAnn and Melvin Loggins of Sardis; 25 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers James Kenneth Goodwin and wife Wanda of Corsicana and William Glen Goodwin of Fort Worth; and sister Lola Mae Lee of Irving.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

D.A. “Don” Green
April 19, 1931 – Aug. 17, 2006

MIDLOTHIAN – Memorial services for D.A. “Don” Green, 75, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006 in the Midlothian Bible Church.
Born April 19, 1931 in Dallas, he passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006 in his home after a short battle with emphysema.
He is surv-ived by his wife Wynette Green; sons Larry and his wife Sherry Green of Duncaville, Lonnie Green of Birmingham, Ala. and Brian and his wife Tammye Green of Edmond, Okla.; daughter Marcie Green and Mike Baker of Plano; grandchildren Christie McGee, Michelle Durham, Allen Green, Brett Duff, Melina Duff, Sonia Mathis, Domenick Colonna, Julia Green, Dawn Green, Phillip Green, Dustin Green, Ashley Waggoner and Alex Reeves; and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Midlothian Bible Church “Building Fund” at 4250 FM 663, Midlothian, TX 76065.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Midlothian Funeral Home.

Mary Aline Nisbett

DALLAS - Graveside services for Mary Aline Nisbett, 69 of Dallas, were held Aug. 17, 2006 in the Ferris Memorial Park North with Bro. Marvin T. Wilson officiating.
Born Jan. 21, 1937 in Castor, La., the daughter of Lee Roy and Eunice Viola (Potts) Plunkett, she passed away Aug. 15, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman.
Preceded in death by her children Kimberly Sue Nisbett and Jimmy Earl Nisbett; parents Eunice Viola Plunkett and Lee Roy Plunkett; brothers Ollie Ivey Plunkett, Wayne Plunkett and Rickey Lynn Plunkett; she is survived by her husband Joseph Doyle Nisbett; daughters Elizabeth A. and husband Mearl D. Bond of Gravett, Ark., Paula R. Rogers of Ferris and Tena M. Burge of Ennis; son Jonathan and wife Sherri N. Nisbett of Seagoville; sisters Martha L. Hamilton of Kemp, Melba Sue Luton of Canton, Claudine Gammon of Kaufman, Carolyn Mae Rumsey of Alvarado and Audrey Mae Plunkett of Ringgold, La.; brothers Daniel Plunkett of Sulphur Springs, Willard Plunkett of Canton and Mike Plunkett of Kerens; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.

ATHENS - Funeral services for Rev. Anita H. Dunlevy were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 in the Central Christian Church in Dallas.
Born March 29, 1941, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Louise S. and Hjalmar F. Hillman, she passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006.
Preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her husband Dave H. Dunlevy of Athens; son David H. Dunlevy of Waxahachie; brother Floyd Hillman of Seattle, Wash. and grandson Dustin Dunlevy of Waxahachie.
Interment followed Sunday, Aug, 20, 2006 in the Sardis cemetery under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Roberto Fira

ENNIS - Mass of Christian Burial services for Roberto Fira, 72 of Ennis, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006 in St. John Catholic Church.
Born June 15, 1934 in Sinton, the son of Frank and Angelita Fira, he passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 in the Ennis Care Center.
Preceded in death by his parents; two sons Jesse and David Fira; brothers Roy, Pete and Frank Fira and sister Josephine Sauceda; he is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Diana Foust and her husband Charles of Ennis; sons Alfred Fira of Ennis and Jerry Fira and his wife Yolanda of Beeville; grandchildren David, Timothy, Jonathon, Anthony and Andrew Foust, Adam, Kimberly, Angela, Robert, Eric, Jerry Jr. and Jerica Fira; brothers Mario and Ben Fira; and sisters Sue Fira, Carolyn Gonzales, Betty Uresti, Yolanda Gonzales and Lucy Moreno.
Interment followed in the St. Joseph cemetery under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.

RED OAK - Graveside services for Yoli Phare, 65 of Red Oak, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006 in the Dallas-Fort Worth National cemetery with Jasper Weaver officiating.
Born July 27, 1941 in Laredo, the daughter of Raul and Anita (Martinez) Rodriguez, she passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006 at the Baylor Medical Center in Waxah-achie.
Preceded in death by her father; sister Sonia Douthitt and her husband Lee Walter Phare in 2001; she is survived by her children, Patti Phare-Camp and her husband Jeff of Sacramento, Calif., Michael Phare of Pennsacola, Fla. and Nora Phare of Red Oak; her mother Anita Rodriguez of Laredo; two grandsons Sgt. Christopher Phare of Killeen and Michael Wayne Phare, Jr.; two great-grandchildren Austin and Gabriel; and brothers and sisters Norma Adamo, Mary Mireles, Thelma Luhrsen, Victor Rodriguez and Javier Rodriguez.

Mary June McCormack
FERRIS — Services for Mary June McCormack, 89, of Plano, formerly of Aransas Pass, will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Aransas Pass.
She was retired after 20 years of employment with First State Bank of Aransas Pass where she served as an assistant vice president.
She was a member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Aransas Pass.
She was a WMU member.
Preceded in death by her husband D.B. McCormack in June 2005; a daughter, Elma Bromley; a grandson, Michael Johnson; and four brothers, Lewis Jernigan, Herman Jernigan, Bob Jernigan and Weldon Jernigan; she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws, Betty and Tommy Johnson of West Columbia and Kathryn and John Garzonie of Plano; son-in-law Sam Bromley of Aransas Pass; 13 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Prairie View cemetery under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.

Lorenzo “Larry” Moreno
June 15, 1969 — March 28, 2006

FERRIS — Services for Lorenzo “Larry” Moreno, 36, of Ferris were 10 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2006 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father Padre Oscar Gales officiating.
Born June 15, 1969 to Hilario and Ocanas Moreno, he died Tuesday, March 28, 2006.
He was a 1986 graduate of Ferris High School.
Preceded in death by his father, he is survived by his mother Ocanas Moreno of Ferris; one sister Maggie Moreno of Ferris; and two nieces, Bianca Arias and Alexis Arias, both of Ferris.
Pallbearers were Ruben Arreola, Mike Arrambide, Miguel “Cuba” Ciprian, Roel Garcia, Richard Moreno and Ruben Trevino.
Burial was in Ferris Memorial Park North under the direction of Green Funeral Home.
