POOLE (nee Leggett) On October 17. Amy, aged 86 years, died peacefully in hospital after a long illness, beloved wife of the late William, loving mother of Keith and Moira, Margaret and Tommy, Jean and Ian, Linda and Dennis, much loved grandmother and great-grandmother. Friends please meet for service at All Saints' Church, Wheatley Hill on Tuesday, October 25 at 12.10 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if so desired to, The Friends of Rievaulx Day Centre.

REEVES Douglas John (Doug), aged 83 years, of Skeeby, died peacefully in hospital on October 14. Beloved husband of the late Rita and will be sadly missed by his many friends. Funeral service at St. Agatha's Church, Easby on Friday, October 21 at 11.00 a.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church. RICHARDS October 16, of Witton-le-Wear. Ronnie, aged 84 years, devoted husband of Jean, a much loved dad of Anne and Michael, loving grandad of Stephen and Julie, dearly loved great-grandad to Owen and Georgia, also a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in Witton-le-Wear Methodist Church at 2.00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, followed by cremation at Durham.

ROBINSON Albert (Alby) Died at University Hospital, Durham, October 14, aged 79 years, ex miner, formerly of Easington Colliery. Dearly loved husband of the late Doreen, father of Lynda, Joan and Sandra, grandad to Jamie, Lucy and Jennie, father-in-law of Jeff and soon to be great-grandfather of baby 'Amelia'. Also much loved honorary member of the Barker family. Will also be missed by friends from Easington and Brasside. Special thanks to Beryl and Sylvia from Ward 5. The first day of our world without you in it has dawned and it is a much poorer world for your leaving it. You looked after us after mam died and then it was our turn to care for you. We did it with love and gratitude for the privilege of having you as our dad. No more suffering now, dad, mam will take care of you from here. Love and miss you both. Funeral service to be held on Friday, October 21, 2005 at Durham Crematorium at 12.00 noon. Family and friends are invited for refreshments afterwards at Easington Colliery Club. No black to be worn, no flowers, but donations will be gladly accepted for the Oesophageal Cancer Unit at the RVI, Newcastle.

SIMPSON October 15 (peacefully at home), of Old Cleatlam. Catherine (Kate), aged 96 years (nee Tunstall), formerly Brown. A loving mother of Maurice, Cliff (the late Wilf), Cecil, Jean, Wyn and Dorothy. Much loved mother-in-law, nana, great-nana and great-great-nana. Sadly missed by all family and friends. Would friends please meet for funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Staindrop on Wednesday, October 26 at 12.00 noon, followed by interment. Family flowers only please. Cortege to leave her son Keith's residence at 11.50 a.m. on Thursday, October 20 for service in St. Mary's Church, Howden-le-Wear at 12.00 noon, followed by interment in Howden-le-Wear Cemetery. THOMPSON Margaret (nee Percival), of Riverside Cottage, Bainbridge. Beloved wife of John, mother of David, Anne and Poppy and grandmother of nine grandchildren. Died peacefully in The Friarage Hospital Northallerton on October 14.
