Aaron Breeding

KINGSPORT -- military graveside services for Aaron Fillmore Breeding will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery by Charles DeWitt Byrd VFW Post 3382. Those attending should meet at the graveside at 10:55 a.m.
Mr. Breeding, 89, of Dorothy Street, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Kingsport.
Pallbearers will be VFW Color Guard.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elmer C. Carr

PIQUA, Ohio -- Elmer C. "Kitty" Carr, 81, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, in a Dayton, Ohio, hospital.
He was born in Abingdon, Va., a son of the late Arthur C. and Lear Jackson Carr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Piqua Assembly of God.
Surviving are his wife, Opal "Okla" Ball Carr; five daughters, Sylvia Fadial and Nancy Cox, both of Bristol Tennessee, Patty Stephens of Pelzer, S.C., Pat Heiling of McHenry, Ill., and Lorita Richardson of Piqua; a son, Stanley Johnston of Houston, Ohio; two sisters, Mildred Taylor of Doran, Va., and Elizabeth Marshall of Cincinnati; 18 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Singleton Funeral Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va. The Revs. Joe Copolo and James Sayers will officiate. Burial will be in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands with military graveside honors by Casey Shortt VFW Post 9640 and Tazewell County Chapter 31 DAV.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Singleton Funeral Service.

Lloyd H. Dale

KINGSPORT -- Lloyd H. Dale, 83, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, in Indian Path Hospital in Kingsport.
He was of the Protestant faith, a retired heavy equipment operator and a former employee of Wilder Coal Co.
Surviving are a son, Jackie Dale of Columbia, S.C.; a stepson, Randall Dollarhyde of Broad Run, Va.; three daughters, Gloria Faye Dale of Wise, Shirley Gustafson of Frazier Park, Calif., and Anita Sue Pearlman of Paso Pablos, Calif.; a brother, Floyd H. Dale of California; a sister, Irene Wenderholm of New York; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise. The Rev. Kirt Dale will officiate. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Beverly Cemetery.
Mr. Dale was preceded in death by two sons, Kirt Dale and William F. Dale.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Wednesday until time of services at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Sturgill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel M. Eanes

ABINGDON -- Hazel M. Eanes, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in Grace Healthcare of Abingdon.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Farris Funeral Service.

Kenneth B. Frye

PULASKI -- Kenneth Blaine Frye, 60, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Wythe County, a son of the late James Franklin and Ersie Ann Dunford Frye. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Magee Frye; two daughters, Sandra F. Kirby and Lisa D. Price, both of Pulaski; three sisters, Bonnie Funk of Wytheville, Shirley Clark of Max Meadows and Edith Viars of Draper; three brothers, Jim Frye, Leonard Frye and Cloyd Frye, all of Wytheville; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in Mount Zion United Methodist Church by Barnett Funeral Home of Wytheville. The Revs. James R. Kittinger, Hampton Atkinson, David G. Guynn and Jeff Callahan will officiate. The body will be taken to the church an hour before service time. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Frye was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Dunford; and three brothers, Franklin, Harry and Sam Frye.
Among survivors are sons-in-law David Kirby and Bill Price, both of Pulaski; grandchildren, David Michael Kirby, Michelle Kirby, Morgan Morris, Zachary Price, Robyn Kirby, James Kirby and Miranda Price; and mother-in-law Virgie Hagee of Wytheville.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home or any time at the residence.
Barnett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ethel R. Hall

HARMON, Va. -- Funeral services for Ethel Rose Hall will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Haysi Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Willard Owens, Larry Younce and Cline Sluss will officiate. Burial will be in Hall Family Cemetery, Route 1, Clintwood.
Mrs. Hall, 98, formerly of Route 1, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in Buchanan General Hospital.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

John H. Harper Sr.

John Henry Harper Sr., 61, of Bristol Tennessee died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Mendota, Va., and had lived in Kingsport most of his life before moving to Bristol in 1995. He retired from Holston Mental Health Services in 1997 after 18 years of service. He was the widower of Jean Harper.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie Traylor and Mrs. Woodrow (Tammy) Williamson, both of Bristol Tennessee; a son, John H. Harper Jr. of Bristol Tennessee; a sister; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Chapel in downtown Kingsport. Pastor Rocky Lane will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hiltons, Va.
Among survivors is a special friend, Lanelle Poore of Bristol Tennessee.
Mr. Harper was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home or any time at a daughter's home, 411 Bristol Caverns Highway, Lot 48.
Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is in charge of arrangements.

Larry Hess

LEBANON -- Funeral services for Lary "Ett" Hess will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands. The Revs. Carl Robinson and Dennis White will officiate. Burial will be in Hess Family Cemetery on Horton Ridge near Raven.
Mr. Hess, 84, formerly of the Horton Ridge section of Raven, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, in a Lebanon hospital.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday in Hurst-Scott Funeral Home.

Ida Mae Ingle

LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- Ida Mae Ingle, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000.
She was born in Benhams, Va., and was the widow of Roby Ingle.
Surviving are two grandsons, Michael D. Ingle and Mack W. Ingle Jr., both of Florida; a granddaughter, Chandell E. Ingle of Florida; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Fleenors Memorial Church by Akard Funeral Home of Bristol, Tenn. The Rev. Roger Ball will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Ingle was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Ingle in 1999.
Among survivors are daughter-in-law Karen Ingle; and granddaughters-in-law Tricia Ingle and Mary Ingle, both of Florida.
Mrs. Ingle shall rest in peace and be reunited with her husband Roby who preceded her in death in 1964.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in Akard Funeral Home.

Edith McConnell

KINGSPORT -- Edith Frances Hauk McConnell, 73, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a daughter of the late John A. and Barbara Doane Hauk. She was the widow of Scott D. McConnell. She was a member of Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Barbara) Brickey of Blountville and Mrs. Paul (Scottie) Roberts of Kingsport; a son, John W. "Bill" McConnell of Kingsport; three sisters, Mrs. R.L. (Katherine) Holt of McMinnville, Tenn., Mrs. John H. (Mary) Denton Sr. of Kingsport and Mrs. Bill (Berniece) Lemons of Atlanta; a brother, Paul S. Hauk of Kingsport; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Kevin Cauley and H.B. Hauk Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. McConnell was also preceded in death by three brothers, H.B. Hauk Sr., Nev Andrew Hauk and John W. Hauk.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.
