OEHRIG
Phyllis Thornton Oehrig died October 8, 2001. She was 87. Phyllis was born in Charleston, W.Va., the daughter of Albert Hubert Thornton and Marjorie Selden Jones, and was the widow of Robert Leo Oehrig. Hubert was the owner of the Charelston Brokerage Co. in Charleston as well as owner and president of Milford Bank, Milford, W.Va. Mrs. Oehrig is survived by her sons, Robert Oehrig of Baltimore and Carl Oehrig of Columbia, Md.; and her daughter, Lynn Morrell of Owings Mills, Md. Mrs. Oehrig has three grandchildren, Robert, Carolyn and Leigh Oehrig. Mrs. Oehrig attended Boyd College in Washington and Charleston Business College. Together with her husband she developed three subdivisions including Weberwood in South Charleston. Mrs. Oehrig was an active real estate broker in Westport, Conn. where she owned her own business. She was also a realtor in Charleston, Vero Beach and Deerfield Beach, Fla. Her husband was a graduate of Yale and was Senior Project Manager for FMC Corp. Mrs. Oehrig was a life-long tennis player and fan. She was chairman of the Wightman Cup and on the Ranking Committee of the Ohio Valley in the Western Division of the U.S. Tennis Association. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Va. The Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., Richmond, Va., in charge of arrangements. The family has requested no flowers or charitable giving in her name. A Phyllis Oehrig Tennis Scholarship has been established. Donations are to be sent to The Baltimore Tennis Patrons, 1107 Kenilworth Drive, Suite 101, Baltimore, Md. 21204.

PEED
Mrs. Ida C. Peed, 94, of Foneswood, died on Monday, October 8, 2001. Mrs. Peed was the widow of Clarence Everett Peed and a member of Ephesus Christian Church. Survivors are her son, Clarnece E. Peed Jr. and his wife, Anne of Palmyra; two sisters, Jeanette Gouldman and Kathleen Smith, both of Montrose; two grandchildren, Patricia Peed and Edward Peed; and two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Kelli. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2001, at Ephesus Christian Church. Interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Welch Funeral Home, Montross. Memorial contributions may be made to Ephesus Christian Church, Foneswood, Va. 22572.

PRINCE
Ellis Taylor Prince Jr., 74, of Richmond, died Sunday, October 7, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Ann R. Prince; three children, Ellis T. "Skip" Prince III and his wife, Sharon, Marilynn A. Prince-Fiocco and her husband, Guy, and Prescott L. Prince; three grandchildren, David and Emily Fiocco and Gwendolyn Prince. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and where services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be private. Mr. Prince was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

PULLEY
Mrs. Marguerite Talley Pulley, 73, of Victoria, Va., died October 9, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Thomas LaVerne Pulley; her daughter and son-in-law, Sherrill and Kenneth Mulkearns of Richmond; two grandchildren, Erin and Kenny, both of Richmond; one sister, Ruth T. Coleman of Victoria. Mrs. Pulley was a member of Victoria United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to the Victoria United Methodist Church.

ROWLEY
Dorothy Folger Rowley of Richmond, widow of Frank Selby Rowley Jr., died Saturday, October 6, 2001. Born in Savannah, Ga. on October 27, 1919, she moved to Richmond with her husband in 1944. She studied accounting at the University of Richmond, receiving an Accounting Certificate in 1960. From 1947 through 1960, she was employed by Highway Machinery and Supply Co. and was made Treasurer in 1958. In 1960, she was employed as Chief Accountant at Royal School Laboratories. From 1969 to 1974, she was employed at Branch and Co. In 1975 she went to Davenport & Co., LLC where she became Vice President/Controller of Evaluation Accounts. She retired from Davenport, but continued her interest in accounting with her membership in the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA), where she was a member for 46 years. Mrs. Rowley was President of ASWA from 1970 through 1972 and was honored in 1999 as "Chapter Member of the Year." She also contributed to the growth of the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden through her volunteer work. She is survived by one sister, Ida Folger Garfield of Savannah, Ga.; and two brothers, John D.M. Folger of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Charles Bernard Folger of Atlanta, Ga.; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 10 at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden or the American Lung Association.

RUSSELL
Michael "Shaun" Russell passed away Monday, October 8, 2001. He was the son of the late Frank Russell and Nancy Edwards. He is survived by his loving wife, Shannon Russell; son, Joseph Tyler Russell; two stepdaughters, Tiffany Martin and Karrie Martin; two brothers, Chad Edwards and Zachary Russell; two sisters, Terry Spiller, Gerilyn Overman; stepfather, Ben J. Edwards; stepmother, Ashley Russell; grandmother, Mildred Russell. Mr. Russell was the owner of Shaun's Towing for five years. Remains rest at the Laburnum Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Interment Washington Memorial Park.

SATTERWHITE

TOLER
Odessa King Toler of Richmond entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 7, 2001. Born on November 8, 1920 in New Bern, N.C., she was a member of the 31st St. Baptist Church for over 60 years, serving as an usher and member of the Progressive League. She was also a member of the Crusade for Voters and the Queen of Virginia Tents No. 181. Her memory will be cherished by her devoted husband of 57 years, Garvis Willard Toler Sr.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Elaine King of Chesterfield, Va., Garvis and Benita Toler of Burke, Va., Larry and Robin Toler of Columbia, Md.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Dennis and Brenda Williams and Rose Brown, all of Hampton, Va.; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Thomas and Doretha Butler of Philadelphia, Pa.; a host of nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends Wednesday 7 to 8 p.m. Remains will lie in state Thursday 12 noon at 31st St. Baptist Church, 823 N. 31st St., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Dr. Darrel Rollins officiating. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.

TRICE
Departed this life October 9, 2001, Ollie H. Trice of Richmond, Va. Remains at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland. McCarthy, director.

WADE
Mary Lamont Wade, 70, of Richmond, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Winfrey T. Wade; son, Lamont F. Wade and his wife, Terrill; daughter, Suzanne E. Wade and her husband, Ryan D. Paris; five grandchildren, Alison, Lindsay and Kristen Wade, Lucas and Garrett Paris; a brother, retired Col. Maximilian Lamont, USAF of Tullahoma, Tenn. Mrs. Wade graduated from Mary Baldwin College in 1952 and served as President of the Mary Baldwin College Alumnae Association. She served on the Governor's Commission on the Needs of Women and Minorities, was President of the Richmond Council of Women's Organizations, and served on the Council for Learning Disabilities. She volunteered with Meals On Wheels for 30 years and served 20 years on the Henrico County Planning Commission representing the Three Chopt District, and was a member of the Henrico County Republican Committee. She received the 1999 Planning Leadership Award from the Virginia Chapter of American Planning Association. She was a communicant of All Saints Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 8787 River Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.

WEAVER
Paul Weaver, 87, died at his home, Monday, October 8, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Virginia Linkous Weaver; his daughter, Ann L. Flaim of Pennsylvania; his son, L. Randolph Linkous; his son and wife, Brian P. and Judith M. Weaver; six grandchildren, Melissa A. Flaim of Washington, D.C., Melinda G. Flaim of Pennsylvania, Paula L. Altman and husband, Sander, Goldier R. Weaver, B. Paul Weaver Jr. and wife, Melissa, and Marshall A. Weaver of Richmond; four great-grandchildren, Victoria, Taylor, Tre and Louis. He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church, Tuckahoe Lodge #347, the Scottish Rite, and the ACCA Temple Chanters. As a Captain in the Army Medical Corp in WWII in Korea, he received the Purple Heart, a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, and numerous service medals. His family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2001, with interment and Masonic services at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bon Secours Hospital, 5875 Bremo Rd., Richmond, Va. 23286-3058 or Asbury Methodist Church.

WHITE
Hampton White Jr., retired Bellwood employee, formerly of 3307 Garland Ave., departed this life October 5, 2001. He is survived by his children, Linda Bailey, Veronica Sutton, Valerie Jones, Hampton White III, Dean Davis, Carletha Coleman, Roger David, Robin McLaughlin, Harvey Davis, Harriett Harris, Stuart Woolridge; 29 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Parker and Frederica Coleman; four sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, eight sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. His remains rest at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, where his family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, and where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Roosevelt F. Sutton Jr. officiating. Interment Riverview Cemetery.

ADAMS
Vivian Atwater Adams, age 85, died January 16, 2002 in The Hermitage Methodist Home. She is survived by her son, Charles Henry Tenser Jr. of Richmond, Va.; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five sisters, one brother, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Hermitage Methodist Home or Ginter Park Presbyterian Church.

ALEXANDER
Departed this life January 11, 2002, Clarence L. Alexander of Richmond. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday, 1801 Mansion Ave. Triumphant Baptist Church, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45 a.m. Friday.

ANDERSON
Jean Anderson, 74, of Richmond, wife of the late Robert H. "Bud" Anderson Sr., died January 15, 2002. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Pam Anderson, Fred and Donna Anderson and Mark and Dana Anderson; sisters, Gladys Netherwood and Joyce Andrews; eight grandchildren and her devoted neighbors. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday (tonight) and where services will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen 23058-6480.

APPERSON
Sandra Butler Apperson, 57, of Midlothian, died Saturday, Janaury 12, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Mariea Warren; two grandchildren, Michelle and Donald Warren Jr., all of Midlothian. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2002 at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 6200 Courthouse Rd. K L JORDAN

AUGUST
Thelma "Cookie" Southall August of Richmond passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2002. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter O. Southall; and her husband, Charles E. August Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Catherine S. Nierescher and Judy L. August; one son, Charles E. August III and his wife, Theresa C. August; her mother, Edna Cook Southall; her brother, Walter D. Southall; four grandchildren, Christina August, Jaime Nierescher, Kenton and Kaitlin Buck; and other relatives and friends. She was a devoted mother and wife and enjoyed life in the company of her family and friends. She was the secretary/paralegal for the August Law Office for more than 50 years. Her warm smile and strong spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10) from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with her funeral service being held at 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. in the Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, Va.

Marion A. "Sonny" Baker departed this life on Wednesday, January 2, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Irma Williams Baker; nieces, Thelma Johnson and Izetta Lindsey; great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
