BRUCE IRVEN WATERS
SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. - Bruce Irven Waters, 79, of Springfield, formerly of Virginia Beach, Va., died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Nov. 26, 1919, in Great Bridge, Va., he was the son of the late Claude S. and Lillie D. (Herring) Waters. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Claude Jr., Benjamin, Jack H., H. Beazer, Theodore C., Alfred A., and Dick Waters; one daughter, Linda; and three sons, Ricky, Gary and Forrest Waters.
Mr. Waters was a retired coal pier operator for Norfolk Southern Railway after 34 years of service. He was a former charter member of Baylake United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach, and a member of IBEW Local #1142, Norfolk, Va.
Surviving are his wife, D. Lucile (Cage) Waters; one son, Bruce I. Waters Jr. and wife, Sandra Lynn, Austin, Texas; one brother, William R. Waters, Norfolk; two grandsons, David E. Waters and Stephen S. Waters; and many nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Watersą request, he will be cremated. There will be no visitation or service.

ANDREW "JUNE" REXRODE JR.
KEYSER, W.Va. - Andrew "June" Rexrode Jr., 72, of Route 1, Box 212-A, Push Root Road, Keyser, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md., after a lengthy illness.
Born on June 10, 1926, at Burlington, he was a son of the late Andrew A. Rexrode Sr. and Mary L. (Simmons) Rexrode.
Mr. Rexrode was a former brakeman with the B&O; Railroad, a heavy equipment operator with the West Virginia Department of Highways, a timberman, and a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda M. (Simons) Rohrbaugh Rexrode; one son, Kenneth Steve Rexrode and wife, Linda, Burlington; one stepson, Carl W. Rohrbaugh and wife, Barbara, Keyser; two sisters, Retired Col. Janet R. Southby and husband, Dr. Richard Southby, U.S. Army Nurse Corps, Washington, D.C., Leona P. Smith and husband, Ralph, Keyser; and three grandchildren, Matthew Rexrode, Carl Rexrode and Lacy Rohrbaugh.
Friends may call at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Dean.
GLADYS L. RHODES
ELK GARDEN, W.Va. - Gladys Leola Rhodes, 82, of Elk Garden, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, in the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Aug. 29, 1917, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Armeda Hiles. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Rhodes.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Nelson officiating.
HARRY D. WHITE
WILEY FORD, W.Va. - Harry David 'Doc' White, 61, of Wiley Ford, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at his residence.
Born Jan. 28, 1938, in Wiley Ford, he was the son of the late Norman D. White Sr. and Rosa A. (Smith) White. He also was preceded in death by three brothers.
Mr. White was retired as a machinist from Mack Truck Co., Hagerstown, Md. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a Protestant by faith and a member of the Cumberland V.F.W. and the Mount Savage V.F.W., the Korean Veterans Association, Cumberland, and was an avid hunter.
Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Marie (Logue) White; one son, Gregory David White, at home; two sisters, Ester Mae Rinker and husband Marvin, Short Gap, and Ursula A. McDonald and husband James, Fairview; six brothers, Kenneth T. White and wife Norma, Hagerstown, Warren White and wife Rae, Old Furnace Road, Don J. White and wife Cecelia, Harpers Ferry, James A. White and wife Bobbie, Scenic Lane, Russell E. White and wife Nyoka, Carpendale, and Norman D. White Jr., Wiley Ford, and Vicky Golden, Corriganville; and one granddaughter, Rose Marie White.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Paul E. Dietz officiating.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Turner and Richard Lindsay.
ANNIE M. RICHARDS
KEYSER, W.Va. - Annie May Richards, 88, of 550 Chestnut St., Keyser, died Monday, May 17, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born on Nov. 14, 1910, in Circleville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James B. and Mary Jane (Simmons) Lambert. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman Lambert and Russell Lambert.
Mrs. Richards was a former employee of the Davis Woolen Mill and a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, a member of Semper Fidelis Sunday School Class, and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are her husband, Rolland X. Richards and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jay A. West officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
DELBERT E. SWOPE SR.
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Delbert Eugene Swope Sr., 68, of Romney, died July 4, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
He was born April 23, 1931, in Robertsdale, Pa., a son of the late Delbert and Winifred (Fick) Swope.
Mr. Swope was a member of Romney First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dreama A. (Wise) Swope; a son, Steven F. Lowther and wife, Jenn, Baltimore, Md.; and a daughter, Stephanie R. Swope, Romney.
At Mr. Swope's request, his body was cremated.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 7, at 12:30 p.m. at the Romney First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
The family requests memorials be made to Dogs for the Deaf, 10175 Wheeler Road, Central Point, OR 97502.

MARGARET J. STEMPLE
KEYSER, W.Va. - Margaret Josephine Stemple, 91, of Keyser, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 12, 1907, in Evenwood, she was the daughter of the late William Norton and Bertha (Bennett) DeVilder. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Moreland Stemple, in 1983; and three sisters, Rosalie Pritt, Ruth Miller and Eva Sheetz.
Mrs. Stemple was a homemaker. She was a member of Sheridan Hills Baptist Church, Hollywood, Fla., and McKinley Chapter 12 Order of the Eastern Star, Cumberland, Md.
Surviving are two sons, Allen K. Stemple and wife Gail, Livingston, Texas, and William Stemple and wife Barbara, Princeton, Ill.; two daughters, Ruth Ann Wagoner and husband Lewis, Keyser, and Linda Bird and husband Ronald, Frederick, Md.; one brother, William DeVilder, Parsons; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted by the Order of the Eastern Star, Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dan Walker of Knobley Baptist Church, Short Gap, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
