ETHEL M. BAKER
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - Ethel M. Baker, formerly of Piedmont, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at Charlestown Retirement Community, Catonsville, Md.
She was born in Brooke County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ellis and Edna Ruth (Stansberry) Fair. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Baker; and one brother, Richard Fair.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont. She had attended Bethany College and was a graduate of West Virginia University. She was a retired teacher from Piedmont High School.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Penny Walstrum and husband, John, Ellicott City, Md.; one brother, Raymond Fair, Elkins, W.Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hartley, Bethany, W.Va., Mrs. Lois Schulz, Hendersonville, N.C.; three step grandchildren; and two step great-granddaughters.
Friends will be received at Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. S.D. Sawyers and the Rev. Joseph Jarrett officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
GARLAND "SKIP" EASTERLY JR.
KEYSER, W.Va. - Garland "Skip" Easterly Jr., 68, of 1360 Ludwick St., Keyser, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born Nov. 6, 1929, at Lebanon, Va., he was a son of the late Garland and Hazel (Finney) Easterly. He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Corey Easterly.
Mr. Easterly was the retired owner and operator of the former Western Auto in Keyser for 16 years. He was employed by various contractors at the Westvaco Luke Mill and was a former licensed funeral director and embalmer in the state of Virginia.
He attended the Lebanon United Methodist Church during his residency in Virginia, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Joan (DeWeever) Easterly; one son, Allen B. Easterly, Stafford, Va.; two daughters, Hazel Williamson, Cumberland, Md., and Shari A. Reuschel, Long Beach, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Sabrina Williamson, Chad Williamson and Aimee Easterly.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lewis Twigg and Father Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R., officiating.
BEULAH MAY "TOOTS" DAVIS
PAW PAW, W.Va. - Beulah May "Toots" Davis, 72, of Paw Paw, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
She was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Cumberland, the daughter of the late Claude Russell Crabtree and Carrie Pauline Alderton Crabtree. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Davis, in 1993; one brother; and one sister.
Mrs. Davis was employed as a steward at the American Legion Post 128, Paw Paw.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 128, Paw Paw, and the V.F.W., Oldtown, Md.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Saville, Paw Paw, and Deanna McGlade, San Diego, Calif.; five sisters, Jo Ann Allen, Cumberland, Md., Pauline Fox, Nellie Rader, Helen Walters and Maxine Crabtree, all of Oldtown; three brothers, Russell Crabtree and James Crabtree, both of Oldtown, and Jack Crabtree, Martinsburg, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, W.Va., on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel, on Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Joe DiNicola.
Pallbearers will be Fred Saville Jr., Kenny Saville, Robert Rowzee, Chris McGlade, Matt Crabtree and Georg Corbett.
ETTA MAE CANAN
BURLINGTON, W.Va. - Etta Mae Canan, 80, of Route 1, Burlington, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born on Sept. 6, 1918, at Philippi, she was a daughter of the late George William and Annie (Reed) Smith. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Edward Canan, on Aug. 3, 1984; and by five brothers, Guy, Oscar, Sylvanus, Jarrett and John Smith.
Mrs. Canan was a homemaker and was a member of the Burlington Union Church and formerly was a member of the Lone Star United Methodist Church.
Surviving are four sons, George Canan and wife, Betty Ann, Roger Canan and wife, Joyce, Marvin Eugene Canan, Robert Stephen Canan and wife, Donna, all of Burlington; three daughters, Betty Lou Wolford and husband Roy Dailey, Glenda Mae Canan and friend, Freddie Lupton, all of Burlington, and Barbara Ann Heishman and husband, Harwell, DelRay; one brother, George Smith Jr., Burlington; three sisters, Esta Nabors, Edna Mays, both of Burlington, Martha Hott, Romney; 13 grandchildren, James Wolford and wife, Gwen, Trina Bowman and husband, Warren, Tambi Wolford, Rebecca Roderick and husband, Matt, Kenneth Canan and wife, Kimberly, Christopher Canan and wife, Sharon, Brian Canan and wife, Karen, Phillip Canan, Todd Canan and wife Candy, Stephanie Canan, Bobbisue Corbin, Tina Berethelot and Tyra Petty; 21 great-grandchildren, Jamion and Benjamin Wolford, Amber, Jessica and Erica Bowman, Travis Kidwell, Anthony and Misti Roderick, Chasity, Sierra and Gage Canan, C.J., Matthew and Samantha Canan, Sasha, Brian and Andrew Canan, Kennedy Mae Canan, Jenna and Daniel Berethelot and Neil Heishman.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Burlington Union Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Angela Cosner officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.

MARIE BAKER
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Marie Baker, 91, of Route 3, Moorefield, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, where she had been a resident for nine years.
Born July 7, 1907, in Winchester, Va., she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Emma Nicholson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Baker, in 1941; one son, Leonard Baker; one granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Baker was a homemaker. She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Carrie Stonestreet, Moorefield; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home in Westernport on Monday, Aug. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Owens officiating.
Interment will be in Sinclair Memorial Park, at Cross.
HARRY E. BALDWIN
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - The Rev. Harry Edward Baldwin, 76, of Ridgeley, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 15, 1921, in Patterson Creek, he was the son of the late Felix Conoway and Nancy May (Senn) Baldwin.
Rev. Baldwin was retired from the B&O; Railroad after 43 years of service. He also was an ordained minister for 28 years in the Assembly of God Church, and was pastor of the churches in the Potomac District Council. Rev. Baldwin was a member of Bethel Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, Patterson Creek; Fort Ashby VFW Post 6667; and the Brotherhood of Railroad Workers, Local 1028. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Iona M. (Powell) Baldwin; one son, Gerald E. Baldwin and wife Regina, Winchester, Va.; one daughter, Donna A. (Baldwin) Wagoner and husband Gerald, Fort Ashby; a brother, the Rev. Harley F. Baldwin and wife Margaret, Fort Ashby; three sisters, Helen M. Black and husband John, Bel Air, Md., Violet M. Ellis and husband George, Rawlings, Md., and Evelyn V. Baldwin, Bel Air; one half sister, Nancy M. White and husband Wilford, Patterson Creek; his stepmother, Marie V. Baldwin, Patterson Creek; one stepsister, Betty L. Davis, Fort Ashby; five grandchildren, Lance Baldwin and wife Sandi, Massilion, Ohio, Lorri Baldwin, Winchester, Va., Barbara, Michelle and Michael Wagoner, all of Fort Ashby; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Brady Baldwin.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor J. Gary Butler officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Denny Powell, David Ault, Larry Baldwin, Robert Baldwin, James Powell and Thomas Lechliter.
