REVEREND HARLEY FELIX BALDWIN
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - The Rev. Harley Felix Baldwin died Friday, July 10, 1998, at his residence.
Born June 2, 1924, in Patterson Creek, he was the son of the late Felix Conaway and Nancy Mae (Senn) Baldwin.

The Rev. Baldwin was an owner of the Baldwin Funeral Home Inc. in Romney. He was a retired United Methodist Minister with the West Virginia Conference for 33 years, and was retired from the B&O; Railroad after 31 years of service. Rev. Baldwin was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Patterson Creek; and Fort Ashby V.F.W. Post #6667. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Virginia Hershberger Baldwin. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Raymond and Samuel; one sister, Clara Mae Baldwin; one step-brother, Maynard Lee Davis.

Surviving are, one daughter, Darlene S. Baldwin, Fort Ashby; two sons, Robert L. Baldwin, and wife, Linda, Cumberland, H. Page Baldwin, Romney; three sisters, Helen M. Black, Bel Air, Cumberland, Md., Violet M. Ellis, Rawlings, Md., Evelyn V. Baldwin, Bel Air, Cumberland; a half-sister, Nancy M. White, Patterson Creek; his stepmother, Marie V. Baldwin, Patterson Creek; one stepsister, Betty L. Davis, Fort Ashby; one granddaughter, Sherry S. Baldwin, Virginia Beach, Va.; one grandson, Michael A. Baldwin, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Baldwin Funeral Home Inc., Romney, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Monday, with the Rev. John Glessner and Dr. William Wilson officiating. Cathy Goodall, soloist, will sing "What A Friend," and "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Donna Iser.

Interment will be in the Fort Ashby cemetery, Fort Ashby. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Hampshire Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Baldwin, Glenwood Logsdon, Gary Bowman, Elton Judy, Lee White, Bob Chaney, Harold Hershberger and Ronald Hershberger.

MARGARET V. BALDWIN
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Margaret Virginia (Hershberger) Baldwin, 73, of Fort Ashby, died Friday, April 17, 1998, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Feb. 17, 1925, in Patterson Creek, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Lantz Hershberger, who preceded her in death June 20, 1980, and the late Susie Ellen (Logsdon) Hershberger, who preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1925. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Page Hershberger and Vincent Eugene Hershberger; and a foster sister, Audra H. Wilburn. Margaret was raised by her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Baker. William H. Baker preceded her in death Nov. 7, 1958, and Fannie V. (Logsdon) Baker preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1973.

Mrs. Baldwin was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Patterson Creek, and the United Methodist Women. She had served the United Methodist Church for more than 38 years as the wife of a United Methodist Minister.

Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Harley F. Baldwin; one daughter, Darlene S. Baldwin, Fort Ashby; two sons, Robert L. Baldwin and his wife Linda, Cumberland, Md., and H. Page Baldwin, Romney; one sister, Violet I. Pyle, Ridgeley; three half sisters, Sally B. Hayes, Madge M. Bradfield and Cathy L. Batchelor, all of Patterson Creek; a half brother, Harold H. Hershberger, Fort Ashby; two stepsisters, Charlotte M. Logsdon, Fort Ashby, and Elmira E. Allen, Furnace Acres; a foster sister, Ethel E. Haycock, Cresaptown, Md.; a granddaughter, Sherry S. Baldwin, Cumberland; and a grandson Michael A. "Mick" Baldwin, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Baldwin Funeral Home, 115 E. Birch Lane, Romney, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Glessner and Dr. William Wilson officiating. W. Lee White, soloist, will sing "He Touched Me."

Interment will be in the Fort Ashby cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Chaney, Glen Logsdon, John Logsdon, Alan Batchelor, Scott Bradfield, Davey Hayes, Andy Hershberger and Gerald Baldwin.

ROBERT A. BANE
KEYSER, W.Va. - Robert A. Bane, 76, of HC 84, Box 8, Keyser, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at his residence.
Born April 8, 1921, in Burlington, he was a son of the late Rev. William W. Bane and Etta K. (High) Bane. He also was preceded in death by his wife of more than 54 years, Evelyn (Miller) Bane, on March 21, 1997.

Mr. Bane was a retired farmer and was a member of the Sunnyside Church of the Brethren being actively involved in local and district church work.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty Dzubba, of Berlin, Germany, and Keyser, and Doris Helsley, Keyser; one brother, William W. Bane and wife Velma, Burlington; three grandchildren; twin great-granddaughters; and two nieces.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Herman L. Baliles, the Rev. Owen Stultz, and the Rev. Franklin Bishop officiating.

Interment will be in the Duling cemetery, Keyser.

LAWRENCE ROBERT "BEAVER" DAVEY
PURGITSVILLE, W. Va. - Lawrence Robert "Beaver" Davey, 53, of Purgitsville, died Feb. 20, 1998, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
He was born March 16, 1944, at Junction, W.Va., the son of the late James Edward and Margaret Josephine (Rinker) Davey. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Vincent Davey and James Marshal Davey; and one sister, Ethel May Davey.

He was employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways, Romney, W.Va.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Ray (Davy) Davey; two sons, Lawrence Robert Davey Jr., and wife, Jennifer Elaine, Purgitsville, and James Leroy Davey, at home.; two brothers, Larmer Davey, Maysville, W.Va., and Donald Davey, Burlington, W.Va.; six sisters, Arbutus McDonald, Junction, W.Va., Freeda Davey, Purgitsville, Joanna Hesse, Old Fields, Charlotte Haddox, Florida, Phyllis Arnold, Augusta, W.Va., Deborah Maphis, Romney; and one grandson, Anthony Owen Davey.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.

The funeral will be held Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home with Pastor Glen R. Hamric officiating.

Interment will be in the High cemetery, Purgitsville.

ETHEL V. BARBE
KEYSER, W.Va. - Ethel V. Barbe, 87, a resident of Moran Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of 12 N. Main St., Keyser, died on Sunday, May 10, 1998, at the nursing home.
Born March 24, 1911, in Davis, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Ashby) Jackson. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd M. Barbe, on May 24, 1984.

Mrs. Barbe was a member of the Rees Chapel, New Creek, and the Mineral County Senior Citizens.

Surviving is a son, Charles D. Barbe, and wife, Lorrie B., New Creek. She also is survived by three grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Markwood McKenzie Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Barbara S. Starling officiating.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

ANNA ISABEL MARY DAVIS
BELINGTON, W.Va. - Mrs. Anna Isabel Mary Davis, age 80, a resident of Route 3, Belington, departed this life at 11:46 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 1998, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past six months, and death was attributed to diabetic complications.
She was born Oct. 5, 1917, at Finzel, Md., a daughter of the late Joseph and Samantha Warner McKenzie. On Nov. 26, 1958, in Rawlings, Md., she was united in marriage to Arlie C. Davis Sr., who preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1971. Surviving are one daughter, Teresa E. Pomp, Route 3, Belington; two grandchildren, Samantha and Johnathon Pomp, both of Belington; one brother, Donald J. McKenzie, of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Karl L. McKenzie. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of the Garrett County High School in Garrett County, Md., was a homemaker, and a member of the Kynette United Methodist Church, and attended the Light of Christ Chapel in Belington.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 210 Brandenburg St., Belington, from 4 to 9 p.m., Sunday, April 12, and on Monday, April 13, until 1 p.m. when the funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with the Rev. Richard Ogden and the Rev. Jimmie Tallman officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill cemetery at Thomas.

WILLIAM R. BARBE
CUMBERLAND - William R. Barbe, 62, of 329 City View Terrace, Cumberland, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born April 27, 1935, in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Olva R. Barbe and Willa (High) Barbe Bradford.

Mr. Barbe was retired from Combustion Engineering/ABB of Houston, Texas, where he had been employed as an inspector on the Alaskan Pipeline. He also was the owner and operator of Barbe's TV Repair in Cumberland, and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Norma Frances (Pearce) Barbe; one son, William R. Barbe II and wife Bonnie, Hagerstown; two daughters, Rebecca L. (Barbe) Flanagan and husband Alan, and Debra J. (Barbe) Riggleman and fiance Will Green, all of Cumberland; his mother-in-law, Norma (Malcolm) Pearce, Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing; one sister, Judy Carman and husband Ron, Ormond Beach, Fla.; three brothers-in-law, Charles Pearce, McCoole, Alvin Pearce, Capon Bridge, W.Va., and John Patrick Pearce, Burlington, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Angel Flanagan, Patrick Flanagan, Chris Flanagan, Amber Riggleman, Julie Riggleman, Matthew Riggleman, Amy (Flanagan) Arnold and husband John, all of Cumberland, and Renee Barbe, Hagerstown; one great-grandson, John Arnold, Cumberland; and two step-grandchildren, Megan and Matthew Green, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Garlitz officiating.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
