PHILIP D. COLE
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - Philip D. Cole, 88, formerly of Piedmont, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, where he resided for several years.
Born Aug. 6, 1909, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Harry M. Cole and Elizabeth M. Dorsey. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Taylor Cole, on Nov. 6, 1990.
Mr. Cole was a member of the Waldon Methodist Church in Piedmont. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Aubrey-Stewart Post 5957 VFW, Piedmont, a member of Potomac Lodge 41 F & AM, and a life member of the Washington-Smith Post 152 American Legion. He was retired from the finishing department at Westvaco Corp., and worked as a trucker loader at the time of his retirement.
Surviving are a nephew, Lowell Taylor and wife Eunice, Keyser; a niece, Gloria Redman, Phoenix, Ariz.; and special friends Clarence and Christine Washington.
Friends will be received at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the church on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett and the Rev. Lester Clifford officiating.
Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

KENNETH JORDAN "JORDY" CARPER
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Kenneth Jordan "Jordy" Carper, 11, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, in Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
Born Dec. 30, 1986, he was the son of Gary H. Carper Jr. and Melissa Barnhart Carper of Hedgesville.
He was a member of the Falling Waters Presbyterian Church at Spring Mills, and was a sixth grade student at Hedgesville Middle School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Dylan Carper and Trent Carper, both at home; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Sherilyn Barnhart, Hedgesville; maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Leila Flora, Hedgesville; paternal grandparents, Gary, Sr., and Brenda Carper, Hedgesville; paternal great-grandmother, Katherine Cushwa, Hedgesville; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the Johnsontown Bible Church on Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, at 1 p.m. with Pastor L. Jack Rudy and the Rev. Mitchell L. Miller officiating.
Interment will be in the Falling Waters Presbyterian cemetery at Spring Mills.
The casket will be taken to the church at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, for viewing, and the family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

GUERRINO J. "BILL" COLABRESE
THOMAS, W.Va. - Guerrino J. "Bill" Colabrese, 80, of Thomas, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in the Cumberland Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 4, 1918, a son of the late Antoinette S. (Sciullo) and Francesco "Frank" J. Colabrese in Douglas, W.Va.
He is survived by one brother, John J. Colabrese, Thomas; five sisters, Lucy Colabrese and Barbara Colabrese, Thomas, Gloria C. Vandendriessche, Silver Spring, Md., Eleanor C. Golladay, Newark, Del., Yolanda C. Sims, Charles Town; and 15 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Alfonso Colabrese; and one sister, Elviera Colabrese Maphis.
Mr. Colabrese was a 1936 graduate of Thomas High School. He graduated from Potomac State College in Keyser and West Virginia University in Morgantown with a degree in Business Administration in 1941.
He was a veteran of World War II. He served with the 93rd Depot Supply Squadron as a Supply Sergeant from April 1942 to January 1946 stationed in London, England.
He was a partner-owner of Colabrese Brothers Hardware Store in Thomas for the past 62 years.
Mr. Colabrese was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #2010, 3rd Degree, and Past Faithful Navigator of the Fr. F.A. Spillar Assembly #1822, 4th Degree, Thomas, and the American Legion Post #0022, Thomas. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Harman. He was a lifetime member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Thomas, where he served as an usher for many years.
Friends will be received at the Hinkle Funeral Home Chapel in Davis, on Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service at 8 p.m. on Dec. 1, led by Fr. Lino Ebejer of St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, with Fr. Lino Ebejer as celebrant.
ROBERT L. DODRILL
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Robert L. Dodrill, 42, of Ridgeley, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Oct. 1, 1955, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Arthur Earl Dodrill Jr. and Blanche Irene (Bootman) Dodrill.
Robert was employed by Brock Steel Company. He was a graduate of Ridgeley High School. He was a Social member of the Ridgeley American Legion Post #136 and the Ridgeley VFW Gold Star Post #6452.
Surviving are his wife, Debra D. (Bridges) Dodrill; three sons, Robert Dodrill, Jason Dodrill and Kevin Dodrill, all at home; two sisters, Polly Burkett, and husband, Donnie, Corriganville, Md., Debbie Headley, and husband, Tom, Ridgeley; three brothers, Woody Dodrill, and wife, Ellen, Carpendale, David Dodrill Sr., and wife, JoAnn, Ridgeley, and Tim Dodrill, and wife, Glenna, Lancaster, Pa. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., corner of Greene and Smallwood streets, Cumberland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.
Serving as pallbearers are Rick Aldridge, Danny Readd, Butch Judy, Buster Judy, John Lambert and Roger Cowgill Sr.
CHRISTOPHER JESSE DONALDSON
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Christopher Jesse Donaldson, 13, of Ridgeley, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, in Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 5, 1985, in Cumberland, Md., the son of Ivan Eugene and Linda Sue (Donaldson) Powell of Ridgeley.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Racheal E. (Higgins) Donaldson.
Chris was a student at Frankfort Middle School; he played baseball and was an avid sports fanatic.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Nicolas Kenneth Donaldson, at home; a sister, Ariel Marie Powell, at home; maternal grandfather, Kenneth Donaldson, Lonaconing, Md.; and paternal grandparents, Kevin E. and Phyllis L. Liller, Ellerslie, Md.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Stephen M. Schuessler officiating.
Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Donaldson, Grandfather, Eric Elliott, Great Uncle, Tommy Coleman, Cousin, and friends, Donnie Guy, Travis Unger and Joey Twigg.
WILSON D. DOVE
MATHIAS, W.Va. - Wilson Dow Dove, 82, of Mathias, died March 10, 1998, at his residence.
Mr. Dove was born April 1, 1915, in Mathias and was the son of the late Perry L. and Florence Lowry Dove.
He retired from Columbia Gas Company in Mathias after 28 years. He was a member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church and a former member of the Mathias Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the Army.
On Nov. 19, 1939, he married
the former Ada Lee Whetzel who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Thomas L. Dove, Frederick; one brother, Luke Dove, Timberville, Va.; four sisters, Mae Corbin, Alexandria, Va.; Leoda Moyer, Timberville; Freda Whetzel, Bergton, Va. and Floda Kipps, Broadway, Va., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Two brothers Hoy Dove Sr. and Lloyd Dove are deceased.
A funeral service was conducted Friday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway, Va. Burial was in the Whetzel Family cemetery near his home.
