VIRGIL R. HARTMAN
KEYSER, W.Va. - Virgil Ray Hartman, 77, of Route 4, Box 59, Keyser, died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born on Oct. 11, 1920, at Parsons, W.Va., he was a son of the late Virgil Minor and Buena Vista (Loughry) Hartman.
Mr. Hartman was a retired electrical supervisor with the Westvaco Corporation. He was a member of the Keyser Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and trustee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the Lehigh Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lee (Scheermesser) Hartman; three daughters, Anna Lee Wilkes, and husband, Ronald, Keyser, Winifred K. Kuhn, Fort Ashby, Virginia Raye Biddle, and husband, James, Keyser; four grandchildren, Tammy Elliott, Rene Norris, Brett Leighton Biddle, Brandon Lance Biddle; one great-grandson, Tyler Elliott; one special nephew, Jack Metcalf.
Mr. Hartman was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen P. Fritz officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
DOROTHY D. KIGHT
KEYSER, W.Va. - Dorothy D. Kight, age 83, of 20 Nightingale St., Keyser, died Friday, March 6, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
She was born in Piedmont on Aug. 11, 1914, and was the daughter of the late William L. Dancer and Mary Edna (Swann) Dancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Kight, who died on Dec. 7, 1976; and by three brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Kight was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont, and she belonged to the Wesleyan Service Guild and the United Methodist Women's Guild. She also was a member of the Keyser Women's Club. She retired in 1977 from the Accounting Department at Westvaco after 44 years on service.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eunice D. Ravenscroft, Keyser; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special companion, Mrs. Anna Dixon.
The family will receive friends at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in LaVale, Md.
Arrangements are being handled by the Fredlock Funeral Home.
GLEN JUNIOR JUDY
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Glen Junior Judy, 70, of Fort Ashby, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 14, 1927, in Alaska, W.Va., he was the son of the late Glen and Marjorie V. (Anderson) Judy.
Mr. Judy had served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II.
He was self-employed, operating Judy's Garage in Fort Ashby.
Mr. Judy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Lodge #271, L.O.O.M.
Survivors include two brothers, Lee H. Judy and Herbert C. Judy and wife Sylvia, all of Fort Ashby; a niece, Vickie Woods, and husband, Pat; two great-nephews, Michael and Ryan; and a great-niece, Abby.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dallas Forren officiating.

RICHARD W. HARVEY
NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. - Richard W. Harvey, 56, of Fairview Drive, New Martinsville, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at the Wheeling Medical Park, Wheeling, W.Va.
Born April 13, 1941, in Swanton, he was the son of the Rev. Ellis L. and Mary June (Custer) Harvey, Swanton. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Samantha Jane Harvey; his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Jesse (Lambert) Harvey; and his maternal grandparents, Richard Ray and Beatrice Lillian (McRobie) Custer.
He was a retired engineer for the Bayer Corporation and was a member of the First Christian Church, New Martinsville. He was a graduate of Potomac State College, Keyser, W.Va., and West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va., with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
He was a member of the New Martinsville Lions Club, L.O.O. Moose, and was a former member of the New Martinsville Jaycees. He was a charter member of the Antique Automobile Club of South Charleston, W.Va., and was a member and past president of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Laub) Harvey; one son, Kenneth W. Harvey and wife, Irene, New Martinsville; two daughters, Cyndra VanClief and husband, Allan, Charlottesville, Va., and Rosella Hague and husband, Stephen, Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; one sister, Sandra Schofield and husband, Brian, Bittinger; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Grisell Funeral Home, Wells Chapel, New Martinsville, on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at 1 p.m. Interment services will be held at the Rose Hill cemetery, Swanton, on Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Landaker officiating. Interment will follow.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Wheeling Dialysis Center, 500 Medical Park, Suite 100, Wheeling, WV 26003.

HE REV. WILSON WARD HARVEY
KEYSER, W.Va. - The Rev. Wilson Ward Harvey, 89, of 107 Orchard St., Keyser, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Aug. 18, 1909, at Hubbard, Md., he was the son of the late C. Guy Harvey and Dessa (Callis) Harvey. He also was preceded in death recently by his beloved sister, Virginia Rembold, of Pittsburgh.
His schooling included Aurora High School in Preston County, Potomac State College, Asbury College, West Virginia Wesleyan College and Garrett Theological Seminary.
Rev. Harvey had been a member of the West Virginia Conference of what is now the United Methodist Church for 65 years. He served charges at Blueville/Grafton, Wesley Foundation WVU, Fairmont, Ripley, Rowlesburg, Parkersburg and New Martinsville before coming to First United Methodist Church in Keyser, where he served from 1961 to 1974 and as Pastor Emeritus. Prior to his ministry, he taught school in Preston County.
During World War II, he was a U.S. Army Air Force Chaplain stationed in North Carolina and Texas with the Technical Training Command. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and had served as West Virginia State Legion Chaplain and Past Commander of Boyce Houser Post 41 American Legion, Keyser.
He was involved in bringing the Heartland Nursing Program to Keyser. He was a Past President and Lieutenant Governor of Keyser Evening Kiwanis. In 1980, he was named Citizen of the Year. An avid family history scholar, he prepared several books on his genealogy, and he had belonged to the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a charter member of the Mineral County Historical Society, which granted him the Order of Crozet honor. He also belonged to the Garrett County Historical Society.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Keyser, Davis Lodge 51 AF & AM, Scottish Rites, Wheeling, Osiris Shrine Temple, Wheeling, Upper Potomac Shrine Club, Keyser, Dowell Commandry 028 Knights Templars and Royal Arch Masons.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Bonnie (Newcome) Harvey; one son, John C. Harvey, Keyser; one daughter, Sarah Susan Haggerty and husband Dr. Ronald J. Haggerty, Fort Ashby; one brother, S. Ross Harvey, Clarksburg; one sister, Mary Selders, Russell, Ky.; two grandchildren, Chris Haggerty, Charleston, and Gail Haggerty, Washington, D.C.; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Keyser, on Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Samuel E. Starling Jr. and the Rev. S.D. Sawyers officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services.
Graveside services and interment will be held at the Woodsdale cemetery, Grafton, on Thursday at 3 p.m.
Boyce Houser Post 41 American Legion Memorial Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 7 p.m.

EARLE KNIBIEHLY
SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. - Earle Monroe Knibiehly, 85, a resident of Springfield since 1976, and formerly of Northern Virginia, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1998, at Hampshire Memorial Hospital in Romney, W.Va.
He was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Allen Ford and Lorene (McNett) Knibiehly.
Mr. Knibiehly had been employed with the federal government and retired after 30 years of service. He was Episcopalian by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Christine A. (Asserson) Knibiehly, Springfield; four sons, Earl M. Knibiehly, Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Eric S. Knibiehly, Springfield, Allen R. Knibiehly, Lexington, Ky., and Carl C. Knibiehly, Pittsburgh, Pa.; three daughters, Patricia M. Short, Springfield, Kristien L. Knibiehly, Fort Lauderdale, and Mary K. Knibiehly, Springfield; nine grand children; and five great-grandchildren.
At Mr. Knibiehly's request, funeral services will be held privately.
