BERTHA ANNE MORRIS WORKMAN
NEWARK, Del. - Bertha Anne Morris Workman, 90, of Newark, died Monday, March 30, 1998, at her residence.
She was born July 23, 1907, in Citie, W.Va., the daughter of the late Millard Morris and Doris Collins. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Workman.

Mrs. Workman was a homemaker. She was a member of Delbert Freewill Baptist Church, Pine Knob, W.Va. She also was a former president of Ladies Aid and was a choir director at the church. Mrs. Workman was a community leader.

Surviving are two sons, Walter Workman, Charleston, W.Va., and Bill Workman, Cumberland, Md.; a daughter, Barbara Smith, Newark; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, W.Va., on Thursday, April 2, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Delbert Freewill Baptist Church, Pine Knob, W.Va., on Friday, April 3, 1998, at 11 a.m.

Interment will be in the Miller cemetery, Rock Creek, W.Va.

LEAH PIERCE WOTRING
ROWLESBURG, W.Va. - Leah Pierce Wotring, 96, the oldest person in Rowlesburg, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, in Kingwood, W.Va.
She was born Oct. 9, 1901, in Rowlesburg, daughter of the late Frank and Addie Fretwell Pierce.

She was a homemaker and seamstress. She graduated from Rowlesburg High School and attended WVU. She worked in Martin's Department Store, Cumberland. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, and a member of the church choir; the Ladies Aid Society; the Pythian Sister Lodge; Rowlesburg Senior Citizens; and was a charter member and past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 127, Rowlesburg.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Arlene Reiber; and two step-grandchildren, Ralph E. Miller and Christy Soulsby, all of Cumberland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Carl Wotring, in 1978; and a stepdaughter, Helen Miller.

Friends were received at the Browning Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, Chestnut Street, Rowlesburg, on Wednesday. A memorial service was conducted by the OES Chapter 127 on Wednesday evening. Funeral services were held on Thursday with the Rev. Ronald Daugherty officiating. Burial was in the Aurora cemetery.

HAROLD E. WRIGHT SR.
MILLESON MILLS, W.Va. - Harold E. Wright Sr., 70, of Milleson Mills, P.O. Box 188, Springfield, W.Va., died Friday, March 13, 1998, at the Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.
Born Oct. 2, 1927, at Keyser, W.Va., he was a son of the late Cyrus L. and Cora Elizabeth (Oates) Wright.

Mr. Wright was a retired millwright for Bethlehem Steel, Baltimore, Md. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving with the Seabees on Kawjeline Island. He attended Keyser High School and was a member of Graceland Baptist Church, Ridgeley, W.Va., and a Life Member of VFW Post 1101, Romney, W.Va.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret L. (Likin) Wright; two sons, Harold E. Wright Jr., Agua Dulce, Calif., and Thomas Wright, Catonsville, Md.; two daughters, Sharon Vaughan, Petersburg, Va., and Joyce L. Grau, Seven Valleys, Pa.; two sisters, Delores Graves, Augusta, W.Va., and Jean Ripke, Kinston, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Baugh officiating.

Interment will be in the Thrush cemetery, Antioch, W.Va.

Military graveside honors will be accorded.

WILLIAM E. WAGELEY JR.
KEYSER, W.Va. - William Elliott Wageley Jr., 84, of 530 S. Main St., Keyser, died Thursday, June 4, 1998, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, Md.
Born April 21, 1914, in Keyser, he was the son of the late William E. and Christine C. (Allen) Wageley.

Mr. Wageley was a retired Mineral County elementary school teacher. He attended Potomac State College and was a graduate of Shepherd College with a degree in education. He was a member of the Keyser Presbyterian Church and a member of the National Teachers Association.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, June 6, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen P. Fritz officiating.

Interment will be in the Queens Point cemetery, Keyser.

BELMONT C. WAGNER
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Belmont Conrad Wagner, 81, of Fort Ashby, died Friday, March 6, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 21, 1916, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Conrad Henry Wagner and Dellah Mabel (Cowgill) Wagner.

Mr. Wagner was a farmer and retired mechanic of Columbia Gas. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dollie Marie (Wagoner) Wagner; one son, Sheldon Wagner, Timonium, Md.; two daughters, Maggy Wagner, Albuquerque, N.M., and Elizabeth Ann Simmons, Everett, Pa.; three grandchildren, Connie Campitell, Martinsburg, W.Va., Bridgette Wagner, Albuquerque, and Matthew Simmons, Everett; three great-granddaughters; and an aunt, Beverly Cowgill, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dallas Forren officiating.

Interment will be in the Fort Ashby cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the local Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Ashby Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1110, Fort Ashby, WV 26719.

MARJORIE E. WAGONER
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Marjorie Ellen (Weakland) Wagoner, 88, of Fort Ashby, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Feb. 8, 1910, in Fort Ashby, she was the daughter of the late D. Homer and Elizabeth (Brown) Weakland.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Wagoner on June 24, 1988; a twin sister who died in infancy; and one grandson, Carl R. "Buttons" Kesner Jr.

Mrs. Wagoner had been previously employed at the National Jet Company, the old Sacred Heart Hospital, and McCrory's.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was an assistant pianist for several years and a member of the United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Wagoner is survived by one sister, Elmira W. Bohrer, Fort Ashby; one daughter, Marcia Ellen Kesner, and husband, Carl, Romney; 10 grandchildren, Carolyn Kesner, Fort Ashby, whom the Wagoners reared; Sharon Tennant, Carmichael, Pa., Kerry Kesner, Green Spring, David Kesner, Robert Kesner and Michael Kesner, all of Springfield, Ronald Kesner, Stephens City, Va., Charles Kesner, Fort Ashby, and James Kesner and Joseph Kesner, both of Romney; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and five step great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

RAYMOND M. WAGONER
SHORT GAP, W.Va. - Raymond Michael Wagoner, 72, of Short Gap, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born May 23, 1926, in Springfield, he was the son of the late Henry and Carrie (Isner) Wagoner.

Mr. Wagoner was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from General Motors Corporation, Baltimore and attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Short Gap.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen V. Wagoner; three daughters, Linda Vandevender and husband, Richard, Baltimore, Md., Patricia Kirby, Denise Butler and husband, Bobby, all of Cumberland, Md.; one son, Michael R. Wagoner and wife, Amy, Queensbury, N.Y.; two half-brothers, Dr. Gary Wagoner, Cumberland, John Wagoner, Rawlings, Md.; and 11 grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Glessner officiating.

Interment will be in Davis Memorial cemetery.
