JAMES R. RALSTON
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - James R. Ralston, 64, of Moorefield, died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997, at Cincinnati, Ohio.
Born Feb. 4, 1933, in Morgantown, he was a son of Neva Dell (West) Ralston, Morgantown, and the late William Ray Ralston. He also was preceded in death by a stepson, Kevin Neff.

Mr. Ralston was a construction analyst for the Small Business Administration Disaster Relief. He was a member of the West Virginia University Alumni Association, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, a member of Potomac Highlands VFW Post No. 6454 and American Legion Post No. 78, Petersburg. He was an avid sportsman.

In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Nancy J. (Thorne) Ralston; one son, James P. Ralston, Williamstown; two stepsons, Doug Neff, Moorefield, and David Dierkes, Morgantown; one daughter, Rae Anne Winston, Reedsville; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert L. Ralston, Morgantown; and two nieces, Elwanda McCartney, Morgantown, and Robin Masters, Morgantown.

Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Carole Goldizen and the Rev. Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating.

Interment will be in Newhouse cemetery, Rig.

Graveside military honors will be accorded by Potomac Highlands VFW Post No. 6454 and American Legion Post No. 78 of Petersburg.

RICHARD C. MCILWEE
KEYSER, W.Va. - Richard C. "Dick" McIlwee, 79, of 396 Ward Ave., Keyser, died Monday, June 23, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 28, 1918, in Keyser, he was reared by the late Berl McIlwee.

Mr. McIlwee was retired with 45 years of service from the Celanese Amcelle Plant in the spinning department. He was a member of the Duling United Methodist Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a life member of Nancy Hanks Post No. 3518 VFW, Keyser, and Keyser Emergency Services.

Surviving are his wife, Lena L. (Bean) McIlwee; one son, Paul R. McIlwee and wife Carol, Keyser; and three grandchildren, Tia Louise McIlwee, Tampa, Fla., Derek Paul McIlwee, Keyser, and Taryn Elizabeth McIlwee, Keyser.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Anderson officiating.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

Nancy Hanks Post No. 3518 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Keyser Emergency Services, 236 South Water St., Keyser, WV 26726.

DORA GARNET REEL
KEYSER, W.Va. - Dora Garnet Reel, 79, of 1335 Cornell Street, Keyser, died Friday, May 2, 1997, at the Cumberland Nursing Home, Cumberland, Md.
Born February 20, 1918, at Queens Ridge, she was a daughter of the late App F. and Patti Garnet (Smith) Queen. She also was preceded in death by one son, Roy D.P. Reel; and one daughter, Nola Sharpless.

Mrs. Reel was a 1934 graduate of Wayne County High School. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Clearwater, Fla.

Surviving are her husband, Roy G. Reel; a daughter, Brenda Cannon and husband Bernard, Keyser; a son-in-law, David S. Sharpless, Keyser; a brother, Jakey Queen, Wheelersburg, Ohio; six grandchldren, Gwen Sharpless Snyder, Jill Sharpless, David Sharpless III, Dora Gibson, and Dawn Barbe; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Marple officiating.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

WILLIAM F. MCINTOSH
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - William F. McIntosh, 75, of 56 West Harrison St., Piedmont, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at his residence.
Born Sept. 10, 1922, in Westernport, Md., he was the son of the late Frank and Lessie (Buckalew) McIntosh. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Tichnell; and a brother.

Mr. McIntosh formerly worked for Browning's Foodland, Westernport, and the Herman Haywood Agency, Keyser. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Westernport, a member of Queens Point VFW Post No. 6775, McCoole, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving are his wife, Charlene (Greenhorn) McIntosh; one daughter, Karen Sue Daniels, Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepsons, Allen Wilson, Atlantic City, N.J., and Jamison Wilson, Westernport; three stepdaughters, Sherri Viselli, Keyser, Darla Reed, Westernport, and Rebecca Chaney, Princeton, Idaho; one sister, Betty Grove, Piedmont; two grandchildren, Johnathon Tichnell and Danny Tichnell; 13 step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the First Assembly of God Church, Westernport, on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry Schloe officiating.

Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport, where full military honors will be accorded at graveside.

HOWARD W. MELLOTT
CARPENDALE, W.Va. - Howard W. "Pete," "ToJo" Mellott, 86, of Carpendale, died Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born May 30, 1911, in Cumberland, he was the son of Carter Milton and Bessie Elizabeth (Piper) Mellott. He also was preceded in death by one son, Charles Mellott, and one stepson, Eugene Jeffries.

Mr. Mellott retired from the Western Maryland Railroad.

Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Mellott; seven daughters, Mable Leslie and husband John, Potomac Park, Md., Emma "Pat" Hammer and husband Harry, Short Gap, Shirley Lindner and husband Lawrence, Cumberland, Linda Douglas and husband Harold, Rawlings, Glenda Kay Blanchard, Baltimore, Vicky Shanholtz and husband Dennis, Carpendale, and Margaret Lindner and husband David "Bub," Carpendale; four sons, William "Ducky" Mellott, Charlestown, Richard Mellott Sr. and wife Nancy, Cumberland, Alfred "Jake" Mellott and wife Mary, Elkton, and Benjamin Mellott, at home; eight stepdaughters, Jennifer Lynn Rohrback, Carpendale, Carolyn Westfall and husband Donald, Cumberland, Janice Weimer and husband James, Avilton, Doris Weimer and husband Francis, Swanton, Judy Stone, Phoenix, Ariz., Wanda Robison, Frostburg, Linda Garlitz, Amherst, Ohio, and Susan Marcellis and husband Wesley, Winfield, Ill.; three stepsons, William Jansen Hughes and wife Rose, Carpendale, Russell Jeffries and wife Cindy, Nickerson, Kan., and Richard Jeffries, Virginia; one brother, Grover Mellott and wife Frances, Front Royal, Va.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin T. Lowery officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Pallbearers will be Randy Mellott, Ricky Mellott Jr., John Leslie Jr., Harold Douglas Jr., Jason Geatz, and Jason Evans.

BOYD W. MICHAEL
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Boyd Wright Michael, loving and devoted husband and father, 84, of Romney, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born July 6, 1913, in Williamsport, W.Va., he was the son of the late Carl and Fannie (Cline) Michael. He also was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Michael in 1980; two brothers, Otho Michael and Raymond "Peanut" Michael Sr.; and one sister, Nellie Michael.

Mr. Michael owned and operated Romney Concrete Company until his retirement. He was a member and elder of the Romney Presbyterian Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II and served his community as a member of the Romney Town Council. He was an avid fly fisherman and hunter, and was former president of the Romney Rod and Gun Club. Mr. Michael was the quarterback on the first football team for Romney High School.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Beulah V. "Boots" (Good) Michael, Romney; one son, James Allen Michael, Points; three sisters, Arlena Bean, Romney, Marguerite Cookus, Martinsburg, and Pauline Saville, Wellersburg, Ohio; three grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John S. Franklin officiating.

Interment will be in Ebenezer cemetery, Romney.

Memorials may take the form of donations to the Romney Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Rosemary Lane, Romney, WV 26757.
