BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Lewis, 31, of Route 2, Box 239, Berkeley Springs, died Monday, April 14, 1997, on arrival at War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs.
Born Nov. 29, 1965, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Donald Lee Lewis and Alice Louise (Hunter) Lewis, Berkeley Springs.
Miss Lewis was a security officer for F&M; Bank in Martinsburg. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hancock, Md.; and the Martinsburg Jaycees, having recently been elected secretary.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her maternal grandmother, Mary Hunter, Cumberland; her paternal grandmother, Emma Elizabeth Lewis, Frostburg; and a number of aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hancock, on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ray M. Rogers officiating.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Sharon L. "Sherry" Logsdon, 52, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at her home.
Born Aug. 10, 1945, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Carl W. Wolfe and Pearl (Derflinger) Wolfe.
She retired as an EKG technician from the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, and was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church, Martinsburg.
Surviving are her husband, John R. Logsdon, Martinsburg; one son, John R. Logsdon Jr. and his wife Sandra, Jones Spring; one daughter, Debra K. Murphy, Martinsburg; two grandchildren; one brother, Richard Wolfe, Cumberland; four sisters, Barbara Bayliss, Winchester, Va., Carla Keefer, Cumberland, Joyce Hartig, Mount Savage, and Peggy Macowsky, Martinsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Stanley officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
VIVIAN L. LONG
KEYSER, W.Va. - Vivian Lou Long, 68, of 73 N. Davis St., went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 23, 1997, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born July 19, 1928, at Cresaptown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Walter Edward and Nellie June (Hoyle) Norris.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Edward Norris; and two sisters, Edna June Buckley and Mary Catherine "Kay" Lawrence.
Mrs. Long was a retired employee of the Celanese Amcelle Corp. coning department, and a retired test car driver for the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory. She attended the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Keyser.
Surviving are her beloved family, including former husband Richard T. Long Sr., Keyser; one son, Richard T. Long Jr. and wife Lisa, Fountain Head Drive, Keyser; one daughter, Linda Lou Watts and husband Garry, Fort Ashby Road, Keyser; two sisters, Jackie Machin, Rawlings, Md., and Jean Keller, Franklin, Md.; six grandchildren, Garry Marshall Watts Jr. and wife Donna, Paul David Watts, Dana Alan Watts, Richard Thomas Long III, Michael Paul Long, and Amanda Jean Long; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Funkhouser and the Rev. Murlin Brasted officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services.

MR. JAMES L. LEARY
SHORT GAP, W.Va. - Mr. James Luther Leary, 80, of Short Gap, departed this life, Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, after an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Mr. Charles Leary and Hattie (Trenter) Leary.
Mr. Leary is preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. (Bolyard) Leary on June 12, 1997.
He was a member of the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren.
He retired from the B&O; Railroad with over 40 years of service.
He was a member of Davis Lodge #51 A.F. & A.M. of Keyser and also was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Freemasonry.
He is survived by one daughter, Janice (Leary) Benton, Cumberland; one son, Steven M. Leary, Ohio; one sister, Marie (Leary) Shank, Keyser; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday from noon until 2:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Calvin Roop officiating.
SHORT GAP, W.Va. - Helen M. Bolyard Leary, 77, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12, 1997, after an extended illness, at her home in the Short Gap area.
Born May 5, 1920, in Rowlesburg, she was the daughter of the late Isaiah N. and Florence (Pyles) Bolyard, Keyser.
Mrs. Leary was a long term member of the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren and a past deaconess of the church.
She was a 30 year member of the Alkire Chapter No. 10 Order of the Eastern Star, Keyser.
She also was a member of the Homemaker's Group of Furnace Acres.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Mr. James Luther Leary; a daughter, Janice (Leary) Benton and husband Allen, Cumberland; a son, Steven M. Leary and wife Kathy, Ohio; a brother, George Bolyard, McCoole; two sisters, Matley Mae (Bolyard) Rawlings, Cumberland, and Lelia (Bolyard) Luzader, Short Gap; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, 230 Baltimore Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Calvin Roop, pastor of the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
SARAH A. LAUGHLIN
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - Sarah A. Laughlin, 92, a resident of Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, formerly of Jones Street, Piedmont, died Saturday, July 12, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born on April 29, 1905, in Beryl, she was the daughter of the late James Montgomery and Bessie (Ward) Montgomery.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Martin A. Laughlin Sr., in 1947; and three sons, Martin, Richard, and Daniel Laughlin.
Mrs. Laughlin was a graduate of the Chicago School of Nursing, and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport.
She was a member of the American Legion Kelly Mansfield Post No. 52 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Piedmont Senior Citizens.
Surviving are three daughters-in-law, Elsie Laughlin, Baltimore, Kathleen Laughlin, Barton, and Anna Laughlin, Piedmont; eight grandchildren, Patricia M. Brazier, Marta M. Isella, Joan C. Schaeffer and John M. Laughlin, all of Baltimore, Anne L. Love, Wiley Ford, W.Va., Martin Laughlin, Ohio, Dan Laughlin, Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Sarah Crawford, Fountain, W.Va.; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
