BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Rosie Hannah Miller Kipps, 71, of Bunker Hill, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.
Born Nov. 23, 1928, in Gore, Va., she was the daughter of the late Scott Lewis and Nannie Sine Miller.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 54 1/2 years, Lester W. Kipps; four daughters, Patsy Issette of Brunswick, Md., Barbara Stolz of Charles Town, W.Va., Carol Settle of Frederick and Edith Hough of Bakerton, W.Va.; three sons, Larry W. Kipps of Bunker Hill, David L. Kipps of Frederick and Danny A. Kipps of Taneytown, Md.; one brother, Godfrey Miller of Taneytown; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joann Kipps; and one son, Lester L. Kipps; and three brothers, Marshall Miller, Garland Miller and Frank Miller.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town. The Rev. John Divico will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery in Bolivar, W.Va.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary E. Busey
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Elizabeth Morrow Busey, 89, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, in City Hospital.
Born July 8, 1910, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ruthvan W. and Louise L. Morrow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Busey.
She was a retired teacher.
She was a member of New Street United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Blake of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Charles William Busey of Martinsburg; her adopted son, Randolph Morrow of Martinsburg; two brothers, Edward Morrow of Martinsburg and Henry W. Morrow of Shepherdstown; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ruthvan W. Morris Jr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Douglas J. Hollida will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Helen B. Shuman
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Helen B. Shuman, 87, of Charles Town, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Integrated Health Services of West Virginia in Charles Town.
Born Aug. 19, 1912, in North Adams, Mass., she was the daughter of the late William Francis and Natalie Harper Barrington.
She was a graduate of Russell-Sage College in Troy, N.Y., with a bachelor of arts degree in history and English and did graduate studies at Simmons College in Boston.
She retired from Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., after many years of service as the chief of Social Services.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town.
She was a member of Jefferson County Mental Health Association, Reading with a Purpose Club, a former member of the board of directors of Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va., and volunteered with Jefferson County Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by three daughters, Nora S. Corra of Parkersburg, W.Va., Lisa S. Zweifel of Houston, and Mary S. Snyder of Summit Point, W.Va.; one sister, Natalie B. Frohock of Cambridge, Mass., four grandchildren; and two nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 311 S. George St., Charles Town. The Rev. Brian Owens and Sister Carolyn Ackerman will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Charles J. Fishpaw
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Charles J. Fishpaw, 68, of Hedgesville, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, in City Hospital.
Born April 27, 1931, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Paul L. and Thelma G. Feagans Fishpaw.
He was a graduate of Martinsburg High School Class of 1949.
He was retired from the 167th Tactical Airlift Wing, W.Va. Air National Guard and was the owner and operator of Valley Repair.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a member of Tomahawk Christian Church, where he served as elder, deacon and trustee.
He was a member of Tomahawk Ruritan Club and active with Berkeley County Youth Fair.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Stoneberger Fishpaw, whom he married
Aug. 28, 1953; two daughters, Susan Marie Grissinger of Martinsburg and Peggy Ann Harpine of Hedgesville; a sister, Ruth Ann Painter of Martinsburg; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles J. Fishpaw II.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Lee Ashley will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Peggy J. Lawson
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Peggy Jones Lawson, 60, of Charles Town, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 8, 1939, in Charles Town, she was the daughter of the late Ernington H. and Edna Ruth Miller Jones.
She was a 1957 graduate of Charles Town High School.
She was a homemaker. She had been employed by General Telephone Co. in Charles Town for nine years; and by Scott and White Pharmacy in Charles Town.
She was a member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church.
She had volunteered as activities director of Jeffersonian Manor Nursing Home in Charles Town.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen G. "Steve" Lawson, whom she married
March 6, 1960; two brothers, Ernie M. Jones of Charles Town and David H. Jones of Warrenton, Va.; two nieces and a nephew.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Charles Town Presbyterian Church, 220 E. Washington St., Charles Town. The Rev. William Everhart will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town.
The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the church.
