Donald G. Rissler Sr.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Donald Gerald Rissler Sr., 63, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Aug. 8, 1936, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late George and Margaret Mercer Rissler.

He retired from Safeway after 30 years as dairy manager.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by his former wife, Thelma Mullins Rissler; four sons, Donald Rissler Jr. of Killbuck, Ohio, John Rissler of Gaithersburg, Md., Ronnie Rissler and Joseph Rissler, both of Charles Town; two sisters, Mildred Casho of Charles Town and Carol Wheatley of Laurel, Md.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Edge Hill cemetery. Dr. Wyman Hall will officiate.

Arrangements are by Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson, W.Va.

Glen R. Cochran

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Glen Ray Cochran, 57, of Hedgesville, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at his home.

Born March 26, 1943, in Clintville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Isaac and Jessie Gladwell Cochran.

He owned and operated Shanghai Grocery Store.

He was a member of Back Creek Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Clayborn Cochran; three sisters, Beulah Williams of Streetsboro, Ohio, Velma Cadle of Ohio and Frances See of Pasadena, Md.; and four brothers, Harold Cochran of Summersville, W.Va., Elden Cochran of Ranson, W.Va., Elbert Cochran of Arlington, Va. and Bobby Cochran of Salem, Va.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Cochran.

Graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Valley View cemetery in Bristow, Va.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.

Boyd E. Jenkins

INWOOD, W.Va. - Boyd E. Jenkins, 73, of Inwood, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Nov. 22, 1926, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late Samuel Robert and Valley Virginia Brown Jenkins.

He retired as a self-employed truck driver.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Redmen's Club of Hagerstown; and Moose Lodge of Brunswick, Md.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Miller Jenkins; a daughter, Joyce Puffinberger of Inwood; a son, Boyd E. Jenkins Jr. of Kokomo, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Lucy Lee Snow Beasley of Charlottesville, Va.; two stepsons, Albert Snow of Milianland, Texas and Ed Snow of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Christine Smelser of Middletown, Va.; two brothers, Robert W. Jenkins of New Kingston, Pa. and Harland M. Jenkins of Winchester; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Anderson Jenkins and James Jenkins.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veterans Affairs Medical Center, I.C.C. Unit, Route 9, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Joseph Ranalli

MILLVILLE, W.Va. - Joseph "Button" Ranalli, 67, of Millville, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at his home.

Born Aug. 16, 1932, in Millville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lula May Wilt Ranalli.

He was a retired boiler engineer for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, with 25 years of service.

He was a veteran of the Korean War stationed on the USS New Jersey. His decorations included the Korean Service Medal, China Service Medal, and Korean Presidential Unit Citation.

He was a member of Shenandoah Memorial United Methodist Church in Millville and United Methodist Men.

He was a member and chaplain of Harpers Ferry/Bolivar District Veterans. He was a member of Senior Bowling League at Shenandoah Lanes.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Grey Ranalli; two daughters, Marili James and Vivian Walters, both of Charles Town, W.Va.; a son, Joseph N. Ranalli of Millville; three sisters, Frances Whitley of Baltimore, Bernice Johnson and Maude Milton, both of Charles Town; a brother, Paul Ranalli of Leetown, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Camelia Johnson; and an infant brother, Joseph Ranalli.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shenandoah Memorial United Methodist Church in Millville. The Revs. James K. Hamrick and Robin Reed-Reese will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St. in Harpers Ferry.

Evelyn T. Shoemaker

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Evelyn Trussell Shoemaker, 87, of Charles Town, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at her home.

Born Feb. 5, 1913, in Charles Town, she was the daughter of the late Eben Payne and Mary Ellen Ramey Trussell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin "Cal" Stailey Shoemaker, in 1973.

She was a graduate of Charles Town High School and Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va.

She taught at Wright Denny Elementary School in Charles Town.

She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town.

She is survived by a daughter, Paige S. Chapman of Leesburg, Va.; a son, Calvin Stailey Shoemaker of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Marie Trussell and Kathryn Trussell, both of Charles Town; a brother, Ray Trussell of Charles Town; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a nephew, and a cousin.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jessica Trussell Brokaw; a brother, Dr. William E. Trussell; and a nephew.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town. The Rev. Jack Weise will officiate.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.

Lenora J. Robinson

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lenora Jacqueline Hess Robinson, 63, of Martinsburg, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at the home of her daughter.

Born Jan. 3, 1937, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of Devonna Mae Boltz Hess of Ranson, W.Va. and the late Gilbert McCormack Hess.

She was a graduate of Hedgesville High School.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Raymond Robinson Sr.; three daughters, Jacqueline Renee Custer of Winchester, Va., Sandra Alane Munson of Salley, S.C. and Sharon Elaine Munson of Martinsburg; a son, John Raymond Robinson Jr. of Martinsburg; five sisters, Pauline Adams of Ranson, W.Va., Helen Sakeman of Halltown, W.Va., Susie Hess and Beatrice Sine, both of Baker Heights, W.Va. and Peggy Jones of Martinsburg; a brother, Olin Hess of Martinsburg; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Martinsburg. Bishop James K. Fugate will officiate. Burial will be in Hedgesville cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg; and, visitation also will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the church.
