BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Mary L. Dupuis Stotler, 82, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs.
Born in White Cloud, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Isabelle Atkinson Dupuis.
She retired as a licensed practical nurse from Mercy Hospital in Baltimore.
She was a member of Saint Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon L. Stotler; four daughters, Annabelle Sizemore and Veronica Johansen, both of Pasadena, Md., Judith DeMay and Mary Sue Hudock, both of Glen Burnie, Md.; a sister, Rose George of Hagerstown; a brother, Charles Dupuis of Augusta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Dupuis.
A vigil will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St. in Berkeley Springs. The Rev. John S. Ledford will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Stella L. Davis
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Stella Louise Self Davis, 52, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at her home.
Born Dec. 3, 1947, in Norfolk, Va., she was the daughter of the late Leon Louis Self and Edna Louise Sawyer Stocks.
She was the secretary for the City of Martinsburg Engineering and Planning Office.
She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church.
She was a member of Women of the Moose Lodge 120.
She is survived by her husband of five years, Joseph Robert Davis Jr. of Martinsburg; stepmother, Zenie Self of Chesapeake, Va.; three daughters, Charlene Louise Bass of Martinsburg, Cynthia Catherine Wills of Virginia Beach, Va., and Shelby Lee Alford of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Susan Amorese of Knotts Island, N.C.; two brothers, Garland Self of Wilmington, N.C., and Louis Self of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two half sisters, Sheila Mills and Teresa Siccone, both of Virginia Beach; three stepsisters, Susan Hansen of Norfolk, Va., and Betty Maude Barrett and Elva Priola, both of Chesapeake; three stepbrothers, Clark Williams of Florida, Jimmy Williams of Blue Ridge, Va., and Dale Stocks of Virginia Beach; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Wiliams; and a grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg. The Rev. Ron Larson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle.
D. Janney Ashton
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - D. Janney Ashton, 77, of Hedgesville, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Born Dec. 9, 1922, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John Wesley and Mazie Everhart Ashton.
He owned and operated Ashton's Orchards.
He was a member of Back Creek Valley Council 15; Junior Order of United American Mechanics; and Berkeley County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen R. Kipps Ashton; a daughter, Sandra Kay Price of Mooresville, N.C.; a son, John W. Ashton of Hedgesville; a sister, Mary Shultz of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a brother, Paul N. Ashton of Hedgesville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Leola Grove; and two brothers, Woodrow Ashton and Edgar Ashton.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Revs. Frank Douty and Irvin Shultz will officiate. Burial will be in Central Chapel cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

BAKERTON, W.Va. - Bernard Eugene Gifft, 60, of Bakerton, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born Nov. 22, 1939, in Ranson, he was the son of the late Eugene Marrell and Arelda Harding Gifft.
He retired from the construction industry.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a Protestant.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948 in Charles Town, W.Va.
He is survived by a sister, Faye Canfield of Sharpsburg; a brother, Raymond Gifft of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; friends with whom he lived, Helen and John Bush of Harpers Ferry; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St. in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Franklin Nick will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery in Bolivar, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Robert Ennis Jr., 28, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Wide Horizon Farms in Bunker Hills, W.Va.
Born June 15, 1971, in Sasebo, Japan, he was the son of Robert Sr. and Donna Roy Ennis of Martinsburg.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Laurie Ennis and Brandi Ennis, both at home; his maternal grandparents, Leo C. and Mildred E. Hensens of Peterborough, N.H.; and his paternal grandmother, Mary M. Ennis of Hadley, Mass.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will be celebrant. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. A vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
The family will meet Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, before going to the church.
William F. Lynch Jr.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - William Francis Lynch Jr., 84, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 18, 1916, in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late William Francis and Edna Doyle Lynch Sr.
He was a graduate of Fordham University in New York.
He retired from Gallard Advertising Agency in New Jersey.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 778; Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW; Berkeley Post 14 American Legion; and was a Boy Scout Leader.
He is survived by his wife, Anna T. Gallard Lynch; a daughter, Margaret Lynch of Martinsburg; two sons, William F. Lynch III of Maplewood, N.J., and Dr. Robert J. Lynch of Martinsburg; a brother, Richard Lynch of Hampstead, N.C.; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald J. Lynch.
