MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Geraldine Peggs, 60, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born March 26, 1939, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Viola Butts Horner of Martinsburg and the late Earl Horner.
She was a member of The House of the Lord Church.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Shirley Leon Peggs; three sisters, Ethel Mason of Martinsburg, Betty McDonald of Inwood, W.Va., and Anna Anderson of Bedington, W.Va.; two brothers, Vincent Horner of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Jerry Horner of Inwood; an aunt; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., in Martinsburg. The Revs. Austin J. Caplinger and Robert Caplinger Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Tomahawk cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Richard A. Last
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Richard A. Last, 62, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Born April 19, 1937, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Paul V. and Emily R. Kane Last.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by four sisters, Cecile Lescs of Martinsburg, Diane Lescs of Arlington, Va., Suzanne Last of Silver Spring, Md., and Carol Ryan of New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Last; and a brother, Paul Last.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
Marietta D. Johnson
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Marietta Dellinger Johnson, 85, of Matinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born July 26, 1914, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Bessie Rowe Dellinger.
Her husband, Paul M. Johnson, died in 1990. They were married
Oct. 19, 1949.
She was a member of Rosemont Grace Brethren Church, Goldenaires, and Berean Sunday School Class.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Johnson Karcher of Hagerstown; a son, Paul Frederick Johnson of Martinsburg; a brother, Richard Dellinger of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; an aunt; nieces; nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Dellinger.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rosemont Grace Brethren Church. The Rev. Carl A. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Hedgesville cemetery.

Melvin L. Burdette
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Melvin Louis Burdette, 85, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Feb. 12, 1914, in Wheeling, W.Va., he was the son of the late George and Annie Burdette.
He was the past office manager of The Trailways terminal in Washington, D.C.
He was past president of Trailways Credit Union.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was a member of Eagles Lodge of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Moose Lodge 120.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Wright Burdette; three sons, Brian Burdette of Moundsville, W.Va., John Burdette of Virginia and Bruce Burdette of Myersville, Md.; a sister, Helen Wimmer of Wooster, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Dillon Husser and Ethel McDermott.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. W. C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Calvin L. Crouse Jr.
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Calvin Lee Crouse Jr., 49, of Rt. 4, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 3, 1950, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Calvin Lee Sr. and Frances Barrett Crouse of Shepherdstown, W.Va.
He was a carpenter for Vasco Home Improvements, Hagerstown.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Vietnam.
He was a member of Newton D. Baker Post 896, V.F.W.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Pamela Braithwaite Crouse; a daughter, Tiffany A. Brant of Glengary, W.Va.; three sons, Daniel Lee Crouse of Hedgesville, Calvin Lee Crouse III and J. Zachary Crouse, both of Martinsburg; two sisters, Kathy Weng of Shepherdstown and Jo Carol Duke of Charles Town, W.Va.; two brothers, A. Wayne Crouse of Shepherdstown and Christopher F. Crouse of Martinsburg; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Revs. Everett Powell and Johnny Faircloth will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, with military services by Newton D. Baker Post 896 V.F.W. and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.

Beatrice L. Chambers
INWOOD, W.Va. - Beatrice Lee Chambers, 90, of Rt. 1, and formerly of Niptown, W.Va., died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Eden Enterprises in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Aug. 23, 1909, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie Ruble Shade.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. "Buck" Chambers.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Wayne M. Chambers of Inwood; six grandchildren, Dr. Terry W. Chambers, John D. Chambers, Theodore L. Chambers Tammy A. Kirby, Tina L. Ferris and Kirk M. Chambers; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Lee Chambers; and a brother, Cebert Shade.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
