WASHINGTON, D.C. - Jay Anthony Jenkins, 47, of Washington, D.C., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Born Oct. 28, 1952, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Katherine Josephine Jenkins Jackson of Martinsburg, and the late Marcus Jackson.
He was a counselor.
He was a member of the Circle of Light, where he was an initiate to be a priest.
He was a member of numerous organizations.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Thomas Jenkins of Chicago; aunts, nieces, nephews and uncles.
A memorial service will be held Friday at noon at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg, W.Va. The Revs. Gitney, John Green Jr. and Highest Priest Nana Oparebeceh will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Howard University Hospital, 2041 Georgia Ave., N.W., Washington, DC 20060.
Anita C. Richardson
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Anita C. Richardson, 92, of Shepherdstown, and formerly of Mount Vernon, Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at her home.
Born July 28, 1907, in Syracuse, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Anson Smyth Carpenter III and Irene LaVoy Carpenter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howell N. Richardson.
She was a charter member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon.
She is survived by two sons, Lee S. Richardson of Moscow, Idaho and David G. Richardson of Shepherdstown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Anson Smyth Carpenter IV.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. The Rev. Theresa Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Comfort cemetery in Alexandria, Va.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Julia P. Rogers, 73, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at her home.
Born June 29, 1926, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Bessie Hess Bayer.
She is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Cole of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a son, Kirk D. Rogers of Martinsburg; a sister, Ruth Ellswick of Phoenix; a brother, Marvin A. Bayer of Columbus; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Aikens; two sisters, Virginia Carrigan and Mary Ellen; and a granddaughter, Donna Wormer.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Mount View Church of the Brethren, Route 51 east of Inwood, W.Va. The Rev. Michael Staubs will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Shirley A. French
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Shirley Ann French, 52, of 500 Penn St., died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at her home.
Born March 20, 1947, in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Sharma Louise Tenaglia and Cecil Andrew D'Epifanio.
She had been employed with Arizona Department of Transportation as a detective.
She was a member of Sweet Water Church of the Valley, Phoenix.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheri French of Frederick, Md., and Michelle Sequete of Martinsburg; a son, Randy French of Williamsport; a sister, Susan Lampron of Falling Waters, W.Va.; a brother, Richard D'Epifanio of Seal Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Revs. Robert Gordon and John Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Mary Joanne Green Wilt, 66, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born Dec. 27, 1933, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edgar Thomas and Pauline Barbehenn Green.
Her husband, Robert Howard "Bobby" Wilt, died Dec. 29, 1993.
She was a graduate of Charles Town High School.
She retired as a laboratory technician after 22 years with Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson.
She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Charles Town.
She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1028, Charles Town.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Ruthanne Cater of North Royalton, Ohio, and Theresa Anne Pennington of Washington, D.C.; a son, Robert Howard Wilt Jr. of Ranson; three brothers, Edgar Milton Green of Millersville, Pa., Linden William Green and Mark Lester Green, both of Gettysburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Green; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Charles Town. The Rev. Richard E. Neal will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery, Charles Town.

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Marjorie Geraldine "Jerry" Smith, 78, of Bunker Hill, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at her daughter's home in Port Murray, N.J.
Born Jan. 17, 1921, in Corbin, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Mack and Callie Earls Arnold.
Her husband, James Stanley "Stan" Smith, died June 4, 1997.
She retired as a sales clerk from Hornes Clothing Department Store in Hackettstown, N.J.
She was a member of Kabletown United Methodist Church, Kabletown, W.Va.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star-Independence Lodge 42, Hackettstown.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Kay Beers of Port Murray; a grandson, James Beers of Leadville, Colo.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Smith, in 1982; two sisters, Edith Rummins and Gladys Butler; and a brother, Leland Arnold.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. Burial will be in Middleway Masonic cemetery, Middleway, W.Va.
