HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Clara McGrew Cassidy, 97, of 635 Ridge St., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 10, 1902, in Bennett, Neb., she was the daughter of the late Frank Lawson and Eva Avonia Johnston McGrew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Cochran Cassidy.
She was a 1920 graduate of the University of Nebraska, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
She was a retired writer and columnist.
She is survived by a daughter, Isabel Bligh, at home; two sons, Hugh Truman Cassidy of Bowie, Md., and John Walsh Cassidy of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a brother, James McGrew of Elverta, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lewis Cochran Cassidy Jr.
There will be no services or visitation.

Charles E. Greenwalt Sr.
INWOOD, W.Va. - Charles Eugene "Gene" Greenwalt Sr., 68, of Inwood, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Aug. 25, 1931, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Mary Whitlock Greenwalt.
He was employed by the Berkeley County Board of Education.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW; and Martinsburg Lodge 120 Loyal Order of the Moose.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine V. Shiley Greenwalt; a son, Charles Eugene Greenwalt Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Cynthia A. Lillard of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two stepsons, Raymond L. Michael II and Matthew A. Michael, both of Bunker Hill; a brother, Robert Greenwalt of Bunker Hill; three step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John E. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill cemetery, with military services by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW, and Berkeley Post 14, American Legion.

Marcus L. Garner
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Marcus Lee Garner, 77, of Hedgesville, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Oct. 16, 1922, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Jethrel Lee and Irene D'Vliger Garner.
He retired from the construction industry as a builder and supplier.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He was a member of American Legion; and Lions Club International.
He is survived by his wife, Constance G. Garner of Berryville, Va.; two daughters, Karen Ann Garner of San Leandro, Calif., and Terry Garner Buenzle of Great Falls, Va.; a son, Marcus L. Garner Jr. of Hedgesville; a brother, Earle W. Garner of Ocean City, Md.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Garner.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Martinsburg. The Rev. John DiBacco will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, 2060 Rosedale Road, Martinsburg.

Howard M. Frame
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Howard Mason Frame, 79, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Disabled American Veterans in Martinsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Ellen Frame; a daughter, Margie Smith of Brunswick, Md.; two sons, Lawrence Frame of Martinsburg and Larry Frame of Hagerstown; a stepson, Eugene Eddy of Baltimore; three sisters, Ethel Weiss of Ogden, Utah, Audrey Duffield and June Cochran, both of Gassaway; three brothers, Wesley Frame, John Frame and Fred Frame, all of Gassaway; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, 2060 Rosedale cemetery Road, Martinsburg. The Rev. Eddie Edmonds will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Evan F. Teach
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Evan Francis Teach, 71, of 50 Ditto Farm Drive, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, while hunting near Big Pool.
Born Nov. 17, 1927, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Jacob Ephram and Grace Anna Mentzer Teach.
He was employed by Lone Star Cement Co., formerly Marquette Cement Co., for 32 years, retiring in 1988.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion and Conococheague Tribe 84 IORM, both in Williamsport; and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1790 in Mercersburg, Pa.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Jane Speaker Teach; one daughter, Debra Teach Moyseenko of Hagerstown; one son, William Buck Teach of Big Pool; three sisters, Helen Ridenour, Betty Hartman and Naomi Keller, all of Hagerstown; three brothers, Robert Teach of Williamsport, J. Elwood Teach of Hagerstown and Norman Teach of Clear Spring; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Richard A. Kroll will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m.

Ethel H. Fear
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ethel Ham Fear, 96, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born July 25, 1903, in Fischer, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Frank B. and Eleanor Stickrod Ham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Fear.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Petersburg, Va.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Clements of Martinsburg and Donna Fear of Frankfort, Ky.; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Southlawn cemetery, Petersburg. The Rev. Gerald M. Miller will officiate.
