GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - Norman Willard Butts Sr., 74, of Gerrardstown, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born April 17, 1925, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late George H. and Mary Miller Butts.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Germany during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was associated with Bunker Hill Brethren in Christ Church.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Newton D. Baker Post 896; American Legion Berkeley Post 14, and AARP.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Ring Butts; two daughters, Doreen Linton of Inwood, W.Va., and Gwen Butts of Winchester, Va.; three sons, Richard Butts of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Norman Butts Jr. and Douglas Butts, both of Gerrardstown; three sisters, Georgia Miller of Martinsburg, Lucille Brown of Charles Town, W.Va., and Geraldine Haines of Winchester; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Milburn; four sisters, Dorothy James, Edith McDaniel, Hazel Smith and Myrtle Townsend; and two brothers, Arlie Butts and Robert Butts.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Revs. Raymond Martin and Raymond Ring will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian cemetery with military services by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Beatrice M. Trout
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Beatrice Mary "Bea" Trout, 92, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at her home.
Born Jan. 30, 1907, in Braxton County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Bren and Eliza Marsh Hudkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Trout, in 1984.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lee Jarvis and Shirldine Marion, both of Martinsburg; two sisters, Darlene Amick of Mount Nebo, W.Va., and Veljean Bragg of Lewisburg, W.Va.; one brother, Bren Junior Hudkins of Leivasy, W.Va.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Onilee Haggerty; two sisters, Della O'Dell and Ulanice O'Dell; and four brothers, Gaylord Hudkins, Pat Hudkins, Cavindish Hudkins and Morgan Hudkins.
Services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Curtis Lowry will officiate. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial cemetery, Clintonville, W.Va., at 4 p.m.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mona I. Gray
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Mona Ida Gray, 91, of Hedgesville, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Sept. 22, 1908, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha Derflinger Graham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Irvin Gray Sr., in 1971.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn A. Schell of Hedgesville, Delores L. Frith of Roanoke, Va. and Mildred McCaulley of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sons, Homer I. Gray Jr. of Inwood, W.Va., and David A. Gray of Baltimore; two sisters, Pearl Stotler of Baltimore and Evelyn Hovermale of Martinsburg; 27 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Wilbur Gray; one daughter, Wanda Brandenburg; three sisters, Jessie, Juanita and Ethel and four brothers, Joseph Graham, Neal Graham, Tom Graham and Clarence Graham.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Harold Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Patricia L. Demick
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. Patricia Lynn Demick, 32, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at City Hospital.
Born Feb. 8, 1967, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of Charles W. and Karen Kruschke Demick of Martinsburg.
She was a 1985 graduate of Martinsburg High School and a 1989 graduate of Shepherd College.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Sarah Elizabeth Miller of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; two brothers, Stephen Charles Demick and Joel William Demick, both of Martinsburg; two nieces and two nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Donald E. Parker
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Donald Earl Parker, 44, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at City Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1955, in La Plata, Md., he was the son of Arlene Kidwell Parker of Martinsburg and the late Harry Carl Parker Jr.
He was employed with Local No. 77, Washington, D.C., as a heavy equipment operator.
He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 20, Loyal Order of Moose, and National Rifle Association.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Candi Lou Parker and Becki Ann Parker, both of Maryland; one son, Jay Carl Parker of Maryland; and one brother, Steven D. Parker of Santa Fe, N.M.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry A. Parker and Kenneth J. Parker.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Douglas J. Hollida will officiate. Burial will be in New Norborne cemetery.

Jeanette Ashbaugh
MILLVILLE, W.Va. - Jeanette Ashbaugh, 69, of Blair Road, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 22, 1930, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Rose Bussard Hardy.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Frank Ashbaugh; five daughters, Janet Hill and Jean Helmick, both of Kearneysville, W.Va., Marie Creamer of Harpers Ferry, W.Va. Susan Davis and Robin Ashbaugh, both of Millville; two sons, Randy Ashbaugh of Inwood, W.Va. and Thomas Ashbaugh of Kearneysville; one sister, Betty Lee Harvey of Inwood; one brother, Wayne Hardy of Millville; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nettie Mae Hardy and one brother, Donald Gary Hardy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Millville Pentecostal Church, Millville. The Rev. Harold O. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va.
