BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Barbara E. Snidemiller, 74, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 27, 1924, in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Stanley and Beatrice Maud Toyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Snidemiller, in 1987.
She was a homemaker.
She was a Protestant.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Holliday and Donna Snow, both of Berkeley Springs; three sons, Steve Snidemiller, Joe Snidemiller and Robert Snidemiller, all of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Edna Mechem of England; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Snidemiller; one sister, Lily Doris Day; and two brothers, Herbert Toyer and Sidney Toyer.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Rodney Traux will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open at 9 a.m.
Michael S. Ferro
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Michael Scott "Dusty" Ferro, 18, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, in Berkeley County, W.Va., the result of an automobile accident.
Born June 20, 1981, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Mary Ann O'Roke Ferro of Martinsburg.
He was a student at James Rumsey Vocational School in Hedgesville, W.Va.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his biological mother, Penny Sue Grove of Las Vegas; two brothers, Brian Ferro of Martinsburg and Scott Staubs of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; his great-grandmother, Julia Elizabeth Ferro of Martinsburg; and a special friend, Dion S. McKee of Martinsburg.
A service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. Pastor Eddie Edmonds will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Annie M. Ambrose
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Annie Mae Ambrose, 79, of Charles Town, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at Outlook Point in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Aug. 1, 1920, in Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Mabel Taylor Nichols.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neale Curtis Ambrose, in 1987.
She was a 1940 graduate of Shepherdstown High School in Shepherdstown, W.Va., and a 1945 graduate of King Daughters Hospital School of Nursing in Martinsburg.
She was a nurse at Old Charles Town General Hospital in Charles Town.
She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Charles Town.
She was a member of Shepherdstown High School Alumni Association; Jackson-Perks American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit No. 71 in Charles Town; and King Daughters Hospital Alumnae Association in Martinsburg.
She is survived by a son, Larry C. Ambrose of Charles Town; two sisters, Alta Sager of Shenandoah Junction and Mary Dillard of Inwood, W.Va.; a granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Dean; and five brothers, Frank Nichols, George Nichols, Brown Nichols, Stoken Nichols and William Nichols.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town. The Rev. Richard E. Neal will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Kenneth F. Shatzer, 51, of Falling Waters, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Sept. 30, 1948, in Finksburg, Md., he was the son of the late Harold B. and Alice Thomas Shatzer.
He was a plumber with Fridinger and Ritchie Company in Hagerstown.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Judy Greenfield Shatzer; three daughters, Cristy Marie McCauley of Falling Waters, and Misty Rae Greenfield and Virginia Lee Barrett, both of Martinsburg; a stepdaughter, Carol Malette Smith of Martinsburg; a stepson, Vincent Joseph Cool of Martinsburg; four sisters, Ida M. Hock, Florence Tibbs and Patricia Leese, all of Westminster, Md., and Barbara Lee Troutman of Hampstead, Md.; a brother, James S. Shatzer of Falling Waters; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Elizabeth J. Harvey and Mary L. Cool; and three brothers, George M. Shatzer, Harold B. Shatzer Jr. and Bruce L. Shatzer.
A service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. Bishop James K. Fugate will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscarora cemetery, with military graveside services by Newton D. Baker Post No. 896 VFW and Berkeley Post No. 14 American Legion.

John F. Collins Sr.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - John F. Collins Sr., 72, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at his home.
Born Jan. 13, 1927, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Joseph T. Collins and Pearl V. Miller Keesecker.
He retired from the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, where he worked in dietetics.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Moler Avenue Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalee Barto Collins; two daughters, Debra K. Darlington of Harrisburg, Va., and Lisa M. Plotner of Hope Mills, N.C.; three sons, Charles W. Collins and John F. Collins Jr., both of Martinsburg, and Thomas N. Collins of Salisbury, Md.; a sister, Patricia A. Smith of Lebanon, Pa.; two brothers, Charles Collins of Madison Heights, Mich., and Walter Keesecker of Syracuse, Utah; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Mary Feltner.

Mabel V. Quaglio
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mabel V. Quaglio, 68, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born March 5, 1931, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Pearl Owens Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil J. Quaglio Sr.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW.
She is survived by five daughters, Angelene "Ann" Hogan-Boyer of Falling Waters, W.Va., Karen Bivans of Inwood, W.Va., Mary Jo Quaglio and Betty Sue Watson, both of Martinsburg, and Nina Houck of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a son, Virgil J. Quaglio Jr. of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Dennison and Betty Tebeau; and two brothers, Junior Hayes and Marvin Hayes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will be celebrant. Burial prayers will be in Paynes Chapel cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg, where a Vigil Service will be held at 8:45 p.m.
The family will meet Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home before going to the church.
