CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Ann Virginia Painter, 52, of 300 N. Lawrence St., died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at her home.
Born May 8, 1947, in Loudoun County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Agnes Mae Tarmon Pierson.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter No. 1028, Charles Town.
She is survived by her husband, Woodie Painter; a daughter, Rebecca Tomlin of Ranson, W.Va.; three brothers, Joseph Pierson of Kearneysville, W.Va., Frank Pierson of Stephens City, Va. and Kenneth Pierson; and two grandchildren.
Service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Millville Pentecostal Church, Millville, W.Va. The Rev. Joseph Fraley and the Rev. Franklin James will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, Martinsburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends today and Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
Myrtle L. Thompson
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Myrtle Lee Thompson, 88, of Williamsport Pike, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 1, 1911, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Cora DeHaven Dunham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Thompson.
She was a life member of Bedington United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, John Robert Thompson of Berkeley Station, W.Va. and William Wayne Thompson of Martinsburg; two grandchildren, Tammy Thompson of Martinsburg and Robin Snyder of Inwood, W.Va.; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Swartz and Glenda C. Coyle; and three brothers, Mervil Dunham, Harry Dunham and Jim Dunham.
Service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Robert W. Barnes will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Harry M. Keiter
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Harry M. "Mo" Keiter, 89, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Oct. 11, 1909, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Harry and Effa Snyder Keiter.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
He started his career at Berkeley Woolen Mills in Martinsburg as a foreman in the finishing plant, then was plant foreman at Varel Woolen Mills in Middleway, W.Va. In 1954, he opened Rosemont Auto Service Station, retiring in 1973. After his retirement, he worked for several years for Martinsburg Housing Authority.
He is survived by his wife, Olive Virginia Williams Keiter; a daughter, Betty Ann Keiter of Alexandria, Va.; and a granddaughter, Candi Keiter Johnson of Woodbridge, Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack R. Keiter; and two brothers, Charles Edgar Keiter and Thomas Clifford Keiter.
Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale cemetery in Martinsburg. The Rev. William E. Merki will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Lucy J. Green
BOLIVAR, W.Va. - Lucy Jane Napper Green, 94, of 315 Union St., died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at her home.
Born Oct. 17, 1904, in Catawba, Va., she was the daughter of the late George Robert and Historia Maria Twine Napper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Edgar Green, in 1974.
She was a domestic worker.
She was a member of Mother of the Church at First Zion Baptist Church in Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
She is survived by a daughter, Victoria F. Greene of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Agnes Twyman of Bolivar; a stepson, Edward Greene of Columbus, Ga.; a sister, Eva Twyman of Bolivar; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucy Jane Green; a son, Stephen Robert Green; a stepdaughter, Marie Napper; sisters and brothers.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Zion Baptist Church in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. John Green will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery, Harpers Ferry.
The family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry.

Warren F. Peck
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Warren F. Peck, 64, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 31, 1935, in Fulton County, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank M. and Maxine Hill Peck.
His first wife, Shirley Weller Peck, died in 1985.
In the early 1950s he worked with his father, Frank M. Peck, at Frank M. Peck and Sons, Needmore, Pa. When his father died in 1964 he bought the company and changed the name to Peck Equipment Co., which he operated until 1985. He then worked for Hancock Block True Value until his retirement.
He was a member, superintendent, Sunday School teacher and deacon of Cedar Grove Christian Church in Dott, Pa.
He was a master of James W. Bowers Lodge No. 173 AF & AM, Hancock; grand inspector of Grand Lodge of Maryland; and a member of Harrisburg Consistory of the Scottish Rite. He also was a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon No. 95, Hagerstown; Ali Gahn Shrine Temple; Railroad Unit; Past Master's Unit; and Shepherd's Unit. He was a hospital driver for the Temple and the Hillbilly Degree, Cumberland, Md.
He was past noble grand of Needmore Lodge No. 458 I.O.O.F.; past patron of Berkeley Chapter No. 77 O.E.S.; past chief of Needmore Volunteer Fire Co.; and fire warden for Fulton County Bureau of Forestry.
He is survived by his second wife, Iris J. Shade Peck of Berkeley Springs, whom he married
May 18, 1985; two daughters, Cynthia L. Bishop and Lori J. Blair, both of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two sons, Brian W. Peck of Warfordsburg and Terrance F. Peck of McConnellsburg, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Doreen K. Tritle of Warfordsburg; a stepson, Danny L. Peck of Stevenson, Va.; a sister, Barbara B. Benchoff of Waynesboro, Pa.; a brother, Daniel W. Peck of Warfordsburg; six grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove Christian Church in Dott. The Rev. Timothy B. Close will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Christian cemetery in Warfordsburg, where Masonic graveside services will be conducted by James W. Bowers Lodge No. 173 AF & AM.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and Monday one hour prior to the services at the church. There will be an I.O.O.F. service Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and an O.E.S. service Sunday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Lewis G. Smallwood
RANSON, W.Va. - Lewis Garland Smallwood, 83, of Ranson, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Integrated Health Services of West Virginia in Charles Town.
Born Aug. 7, 1916, in Lovettsville, Va., he was the son of the late Howard Garland and Annie Reek Smallwood.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ethel Virginia Landers of Smallwood, in 1990.
He retired after 44 years of service with Standard Lime and Stone Co. in Millville, W.Va.
He was a Protestant.
He was a 50-year member of Charles Town Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 948, Charles Town, where he served as secretary for 18 years, was a past governor and was awarded the Pilgrim Degree of the Order of the Moose.
He is survived by a son, Wayne L. Smallwood of Charles Town; a sister, Helen V. Falls of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Brenda S. Dailey and Dana S. Jenkins; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary S. Dillow and Kathryn Feltner; and two brothers, Willard G. Smallwood and Howard Henry Smallwood.
