BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Donald K. "Copperhead" McFadden, 72, of Bunker Hill, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Winchester (Va.) Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 31, 1927, in Prairie City, Iowa, he was the son of the late Donald Ray and Alverta Long McFadden.
He retired from Consolidated Freight Ways Trucking Co.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Teamsters Retirees; and Winchester Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1283.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Rice McFadden; three daughters, Karla Hansen of Des Moines, Iowa, Debra Alley of Richmond, Va., and Kimberly Mann of Martinsburg, W.Va.; six sons, Kevin Thompson of Des Moines, Dennis McFadden and Robert Rice, both of Winchester, Kenneth McFadden and Monte McFadden, both of Martinsburg, and Steven Rice of North Carolina; two sisters, Dorothy Kain and Mary Lou Kane, both of Prairie City; 17 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; seven step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith McFadden.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Larry Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Rest cemetery in Frederick County, Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
R. Wilson Miller
INWOOD, W.Va. - R. Wilson Miller, 80, of Inwood, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born March 11, 1919, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late George T. and Annie Ryman Miller.
He was a graduate of Bunker Hill High School.
He was employed by West Virginia State Highways Department and was superintendent of Win Mar Orchards.
He was a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances LuRee Flowers Miller; two daughters, Joyce L. Everhart of Brucetown, Va., and Karen A. Criswell of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one son, Kervin W. Miller of Clearbrook Va.; two sisters, Georgia Kearns of Kansas City, Kan., and Reba Scott of Shippensburg, Pa.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Felix B. Miller; two sisters, Goldie Graham and Tassie Custer; and one brother, Clyde Miller.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Revs. Colby Knoll and Charles Frum will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Mark Wayne Dabbs, 38, of Bunker Hill, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 5, 1961, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Ronald David Sr. and Ruby C. Albright Barrett of Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was a member of Open Arms Ministry.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mary Fravel Dabbs; four daughters, Casey R. Dabbs and Destiny L. Dabbs, both of Martinsburg, Jenny W. Newcomb and Jessica W. Newcomb, both at home; one son, John W. Newcomb at home; six sisters, Debbie Jones, Robin McNulty, Elizabeth N. Barrett, Rebecca E. Barrett and Rachel L. Barrett, all of Martinsburg, and Laurie Risley of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; four brothers, Ken Dabbs of Winchester, Va., Ronald Barrett Jr. of Inwood, W.Va., Robert Barrett and John P. Barrett, both of Martinsburg; grandmother, Ruby C. Albright of Martinsburg; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. David Risley will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

INWOOD, W.Va. - Donavin Shane Cross, infant son of Jennifer Renee Cross of Inwood, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his father, Bradley Hutchinson of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one brother, Caleb Cross, at home; maternal grandmother, Opal Chaney of Inwood; paternal grandfather, Roger Hutchinson of Berkeley Springs; and maternal great-grandmother, Opal Willey of Great Cacapon, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frederick Cross; maternal stepgrandfather, Walter Chaney; and maternal great-grandfather, Robert Willey.
Graveside services will be private.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Forrest D. "Pete" Brown Jr., 32, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, in Martinsburg.
Born Sept. 22, 1966, in Kingstown, N.Y., he was the son of Robert W. McGowan of Martinsburg and Libby Saville Carter of Greencastle, Pa.
He was employed at Hill Top House, Harpers Ferry, W.Va., as maintenance supervisor.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Tammy Robey of Martinsburg and Bonnie Whittington, Greencastle; two half-sisters, Theresa Sage of Los Angeles and Cynthia Catlett of Kurey Beach, N.C.; two half-brothers, Wayne Brown of Los Angeles and Rodney Brown of Martinsburg; maternal grandparents, Lee and Lucille Saville of Martinsburg; and a close friend, Missy Renner of Martinsburg.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lucy E. Hatison, 86, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Aug. 13, 1913, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lewis F. and Eliza V. Kendrick Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Hatison.
She was retired from St. Joseph Catholic Church School as a cook.
She was a member of Berkeley Station Christian Church.
She was a Gold Star Mother.
She is survived by three daughters, Theresa V. Kilmer and Carol S. Shelton, both of Martinsburg and May Lewis of Westminister, Md.; one sister, Lilalee Loudan of Martinsburg; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey S. Hatison; seven sisters, Melvina Nonemaker, Lula LeMaster, Goldie Ramsburg, Margaret Davis, Myrtle Butts, Thelma Miller and Mary Louise Davis; two brothers, Lewis R. Davis and George B. Davis; one grandson and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Walter Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Patrick Glenn Pittman, 36, of Shannondale, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at his home under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born May 21, 1963, in Norfolk, Va., he was the son of Ina Powell Pittman of Harpers Ferry, and the late Capt. Shelly Pittman, USN.
He was of the Episcopal faith.
He was a member of Shannondale Safety Patrol, Harpers Ferry, FOCUS, Charles Town, W.Va. and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948, Charles Town.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Donald J. Hendrick of Naples, Fla. and Guy Hendrick of Charles Town; one uncle and one nephew.
