BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Christian Samuel Holderer, 74, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at his home.
Born Sept. 5, 1924, in Floral Park, N.Y., he was the son of the late Christian August and Magdalena Eva Keibel Holderer.
He was a graduate of Sewanaka High School in Floral Park.
He owned Ann's Stores of Malverne, a dry cleaning store in Malverne, N.Y.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in Europe and the Philippines during World War II.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Doris Mauer Holderer; one daughter, Lisa Joan Holderer of Benton Harbor, Mich.; one son, Christian Paul Holderer of East Northport, N.Y.; one sister, Winnefred Cassidy of Pasadena, Calif; two grandsons; one niece and one nephew.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Robert Osborne will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery in Berkeley Springs, with military honors by Tri-State Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 2 p.m.

Mae Elsie Ayres
BAKERTON, W.Va. - Mae Elsie Ayres, 82, of 2440 Carter Ave., died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Hill Crest Manor in Kearneysville, W.Va.
Born Oct. 27, 1916, in Miles City, Mont., she was the daughter of the late Richard Bernard and Mary Elizabeth Geddis Bilkosky.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charlie Ayres of Carson City, Nev.; two sons, Richard Ayres of Bakerton and Donald Ayres of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bilkosky.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry, W.Va. The Rev. Douglas Fraim will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edith M. Fellers
RANSON, W.Va. - Edith Marlene Fellers, 54, of Ranson, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson.
She was born March 17, 1945, in Little Ferry, N.J.
She had worked as a nurse's aide at Shenandoah Nursing Home.
She was a member of Charles Town (W.Va.) Baptist Church.
She was a member of Women of the Moose 1028.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Norman Fellers; three daughters, Norma Palmer of Ranson, Patricia Turpin and Christina Murphy, both of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one son, Ronnie Fellers of Charles Town; one sister, Joan C. Bradshaw of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Marie Fellers; and a grandson.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, 114 N. Mildred St., Ranson. The Rev. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town.

Hazel L. Weller
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Hazel L. Weller, 71, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.
Born Oct. 29, 1927, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Archibald Lopp and Golgie Stotler Lopp Burkholder.
She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4019 Ladies' Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandy Molyneaux of York, Pa.; two sons, Gary Weller and David Weller, both of Berkeley Springs; two stepsons, Mike Lagana of Baltimore and Jack Bailey of Farmington Hills, Mich.; one brother, Raymond Lopp of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and two nieces and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Weller and Diane Weller; one son, Kenny Weller; two sisters, Nancy Lopp Edwards and Mae Lopp Thompson; and one brother, Roger Lopp.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Evergreen cemetery in Gettysburg. The Rev. Robert Files will officiate.

Howard S. Broy
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Howard Sterling "Howdy" Broy, 68, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born Nov. 19, 1930, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Virginia Catherine Violette Broy Scott of Berkeley Springs and the late Addison Warren Broy.
He attended Bladensburg Elementary School, Linden Park School and Maryland Park School in Prince Georges County, Md. and Bell Vocational School in Washington, D.C.
He worked as a fuel oil delivery man with Hessick Oil Co. in Washington, D.C.
He served with the 9th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Korean War.
He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church in Morgan County, W.Va.
He was a member of Laborers International Union Local 616 in Washington, D.C.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sisters, Elsie M. Walker of Alexandria, Va., Frances V. Roth of Glendale, Md., Shirley V. Smythe of Shadyside, Md., and Helen A. Payton of Round Hill, Va.; one brother, James H. Broy of College Park, Md.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Warren "Buddy" Broy and his stepfather, Clarence Scott.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Oakland United Methodist Church cemetery in Morgan County. The Rev. Glenn F. Stevens Sr. will officiate. Family and friends are to assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Sara W. Blue
MIDDLEWAY, W.Va. - Sara Wilder Coyle Blue, 82, of Cedar Cottage Farm, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at Integrated Health Services of West Virginia in Charles Town, W.Va.
Born Nov. 24, 1916, in Leetown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward Mason and Katherine Brown Gardner Coyle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor L. Blue, in 1981.
She attended schools in Jefferson County and was a graduate of Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va. where she was a member of Phi Chi sorority.
She taught school in Rippon, W.Va. for several years; and owned and operated Cedar Cottage Farm with her husband.
She was an active member of Leetown United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School classes and was involved with the youth of the church.
She was a member of Leetown Farm Women's Club; and Wayside Garden Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Kitty B. Dunn of Charles Town and Vicki B. Lowery of Shepherdstown; a sister, Margaret C. Bly of Winchester, Va.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Coyle and Kitty Rogers; and two brothers, Douglas G. Coyle and William M. Coyle.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Leetown United Methodist Church, Leetown. The Rev. Paul Ritter will officiate. Burial will be in Middleway Masonic cemetery, Middleway.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town.
