MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Violet Elizabeth Orr Parkinson, 66, of Martinsburg, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born May 20, 1932, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Homer and Virginia Lewis Orr Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess W. Parkinson.
She is survived by a brother, Nelson Woodrow Orr of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, James Douglas Parkinson; and a brother, Homer Lewis Orr Jr.
Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Louise Bowen will officiate. Burial will be in Central Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Elmyra F. Kuhn
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Elmyra Fern Kuhn, 90, of Berkeley Springs, and formerly of Tarentum, Pa., died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs.
Born Feb. 4, 1909, in Russellton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Andrew Levi and Viola Stellar Bowser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Miles Kuhn Jr.
She is survived by two sons, John Miles Kuhn IV of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and David G. Kuhn of Newtown, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Grassell of Florida and Mildred Atkins of Tarentum; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Tarentum.

Lawrence C. Shirley
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Lawrence C. Shirley, 83, of Hedgesville, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born March 6, 1916, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John Wesley and Sarah Elizabeth Coffinbarger Shirley.
He retired from Corning Glass.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Hedgesville Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Murphy Shirley; two daughters, Esther F. Staub of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Darlene L. Allender of Martinsburg; a son, Lawrence Steven Shirley of Hedgesville; a sister, Leota Farmer of Martinsburg; two brothers, Roy Shirley and John Shirley, both of Tomahawk, W.Va.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Markley; and three brothers, Delbert Shirley, Harold Shirley and Richard Shirley.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hedgesville Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Louis Whitford will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens with military graveside services by Berkeley Post No. 14, American Legion and Newton D. Baker Post No. 896 VFW.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - O. Ralph Frame, 82, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 9, 1916, in Clem, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ernest and Lydia Young Frame.
He retired from General Motors. He also was a blacksmith.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Local No. 1590; and Newton D. Baker Post No. 896 VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Elizabeth Richard Frame; two daughters, Sharron L. Lamp and Tina M. Frame, both of Martinsburg; four sons, Gary "Buddy" Frame, Larry E. Frame and Douglas E. Frame, all of Martinsburg and Ricky L. Frame of Inwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Freda Meadows of Oberlin, Ohio and Margaret Bean of Buckhannon, W.Va.; two brothers, Rupert Frame of Martinsburg and Lawrence Frame of Warrenton, Va.; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nellie Sapp Frame; three sisters, Loma Vae White, Tressie M. Cook and Leone Siebert; and a brother, Earnest Frame.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Arlene R. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Louis S. Beall
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Louis Stanley Beall, 66, of Route 1, Falling Waters, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, from complications from diabetes.
Born April 30, 1933, in Glenn Dale, Md., he was the son of the late Louis V. and Emma L. Beall.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division.
He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth R. Beall; one daughter, Elizabeth E. Cosentini of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one son, F. Stanley Beall of Lusby, Md.; one sister, Audrey Paddy of Lothian, Md.; and one brother, Edward Beall of Biddeford, Maine.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Beall.
Services will be held Saturday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road in Bowie, Md. Burial will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, Md.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Joseph Mossman
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Joseph "Joe" Mossman, 76, of Shannondale, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Oct. 23, 1922, in Denver, Colo., he was the son of the late Lorenz Mossman and Magdalen Holman Mossman Koehler.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose E. Mossman, in 1979.
He attended Catholic schools in Baltimore.
He had been employed with DCA Co., Baltimore, in the manufacturing of restaurant equipment and prior to that was employed with Martin-Marietta Co. in Baltimore.
He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948 and Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71, both in Charles Town and Shannondale Club LTP in Harpers Ferry.
He is survived by his wife, Martha R. "Marti" Brewton Mossman; one daughter, Deborah Gudis of Marion, Ill.; one sister, Anne Hubback of Timonium, Md.; one brother, Larry Mossman of Glen Burnie, Md.; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lena Kovacs; and one brother, John Mossman.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town. The Rev. Harold Jones will officiate. Burial will be private.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday one hour prior to the service.
