BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Stella M. "Polly" Stevens, 78, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born May 19, 1920, in Brazil, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Amy Haynes Pollard.
She was a homemaker.
She attended St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, James A. Stevens; one daughter, Robyn Woodle of Baltimore; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Church, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. John Ledford will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Food Bank, St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 116 S. Washington St., Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.

Shay R. McDonald
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Shay Russell McDonald, 19, of Route 3, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at his home.
Born June 4, 1979, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Roger and Melva Fox McDonald of Hedgesville.
He was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
He was employed by Quad Graphics.
He attended Johnsontown Bible Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Liberty McDonald of Hedgesville; two brothers, Chad McDonald of Clarksville, Tenn., and Sheldon McDonald of Hedgesville; and his grandmother, Jean McDonald of Front Royal, Va.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger McDonald Jr.; and his grandparents, William Howard McDonald, Leola Nevel Fox and Lawrence Russell Fox.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. James Bishop will officiate.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Panorama Memorial Gardens, Front Royal.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Fleda R. Miller
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Fleda R. Miller, 99, of Martinsburg, died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Care Haven of Berkeley.
Born July 16, 1899, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Albert Pearson and Ollie Elizabeth Bohrer Shade.
She assisted her husband in raising and selling turkeys on Rock Cliff Drive for more than 40 years.
She was a member of Winchester Avenue Christian Church.
She is survived by one son, Charles E. Miller Jr. of Martinsburg; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dessie Wolford and Anna Mary Horner; and two brothers, A. Brent and Howard L. Shade.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale cemetery in Martinsburg. The Rev. Douglas J. Hollida will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Jeanette S. Stephens
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jeanette S. Stephens, 88, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Colton Villa Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 1, 1910, in Derwood, Md., she was the daughter of the late Columbus and Gertrude Sieders Ricketts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Stephens Jr.
She was a graduate of Martinsburg High School.
She retired from Shepherd College as a secretary. She formerly was employed by Interwoven Mills, Royce Hosiery and the City of Martinsburg.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, George C. Stephens III of Martinsburg; one brother, Herman J. Ricketts of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Gertrude Fry, Ellen Doyle, Mary Riordan and Virginia Lindsay; and two brothers, Collon L Ricketts and John B. Ricketts.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Johnny Kelly and her great-grandson, Jeremy Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles L. Oberholzer
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Charles L. "Charlie" Oberholzer, 75, a resident of Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Nursing Home, Martinsburg, formerly of Greencastle, Pa., died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at the center.
Born Dec. 30, 1923, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Lester A. and Lula Mae Lovell Oberholzer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle B. Barnhart Oberholzer, whom he married
in 1948. She died in 1990.
He attended the Shady Grove School.
He retired in 1990, from Greencastle Livestock Market as the caretaker. In his early life he worked on a farm in the Greencastle area. Afterwards he worked at Letterkenny Depot, Chambersburg, then at Landis Machine Company, Waynesboro.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asian-Pacific Theater.
He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greencastle.
He was a member of Harry D. Ziegler V.F.W. Post 6319, Greencastle.
He is survived by one son, Charles L. Oberholzer, Jr. of Gettysburg, Pa.; one grandson, Shawn Acri of Liberty, Md.; two brothers, Byron L. Oberholzer of Hagerstown and Donald J. Oberholzer of Greencastle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. by Harry D. Ziegler V.F.W., Greencastle.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Charles M. Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post 1599, Chambersburg.
