HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Edna Mae Proctor, 61, of Harpers Ferry Campsites, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at her home.
Born March 18, 1938, in Fairfax, Va., she was the daughter of Joseph A. and Bertha Mae Rowland Woody of Edinburg, Va.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roland C. Proctor; a daughter, Edna Yvonne D'Angelo of Harpers Ferry Campsites; four sons, Roland C. Proctor Jr. and Ronald O. Proctor, both of Harpers Ferry Campsites, Joseph B. Proctor of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Gary R. Proctor of Gore, Va.; five sisters, Betty Jo Irvin and Jackie Brooks, both of Edinburg, Donna Granger of Vienna, Va., Joyce Makley of Warrenton, Va., and Terry Makley of Remington, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Woody.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. Dr. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
John F. Whitehair
BOLIVAR, W.Va. - John Frederick "Nim" Whitehair, 74, of 3 Columbia Ave., died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at his home.
Born July 4, 1924, in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., he was the son of the late Stanley Eugene and Addie Rebecca Cooper Whitehair.
He retired from AT&T Co. in Purcellville, Va.
He was a member of Gospel Chapel Assembly of God Church in Harpers Ferry.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elma Jean Everhart Whitehair; two sons, John Keith Whitehair of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Brian Scott Whitehair, at home; two grandchildren; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Whitehair Sr.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry. The Revs. James R. Smith and Charles Whitehair Jr. will officiate. Entombment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends today and Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Haywood M. Smith
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Haywood Milton Smith, 78, of Washington Village Apartments, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Nov. 5, 1920, in Clarendon, Va., he was the son of the late Frederick Raymond and Addie Moore Bowers Smith.
He retired as an owner and trainer of thoroughbred racehorses at Charles Town Races, Charles Town.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Distinguished Unit Badge, World War II Victory Ribbon and the Army Occupation Medal (Japan).
He was a Protestant.
He was a member of Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71, Charles Town.
He is survived by a daughter, Cathleen E. Brown of Clinton, Md.; a son, Chad Cary Collins of Ohio; a sister, Laura Elizabeth Nunnery of Bowie, Md.; a brother, William W. Smith of Riverdale, Md.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at Arlington National cemetery, Arlington, Va.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
Naomi J. Caskey
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Naomi J. Caskey, 83, of Whitings Neck, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Oct. 4, 1915, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Naomi J. Ramsey Hagen.
She was a graduate of Allegany High School, Cumberland, Md.
She was a Grey Lady during World War II at the U.S. Army Hospital in Martinsburg.
She was a member of United Church of Christ.
She was an accomplished sportswoman, low handicap golfer and bowler in Hagerstown. She was active in Massanutten Military Academy Alumni Association.
She is survived by her husband, Wilson R. Caskey; two daughters, Naomi J. Bennett of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jennifer Caskey of Indianapolis; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Dr. Thomas E. Hartshorn will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery, Hagerstown.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Elsie May Cole, 89, of Pheasant Ridge Trailor Park, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
She was the daughter of the late Siebert and Bessie Stevens Cole.
She was an employee for 27 years with Perfection Garment, where she worked as a piecer.
She is survived by a son, Larry Cole of Martinsburg; two grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Montgomery; and two brothers, Luden Cole and John S. Cole.
Services will be Monday at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, 2060 Rosedale Road, Martinsburg. Burial will follow in Rosedale cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Leigh Dallas Hazlett, infant daughter of Ronald W. Hazlett Jr. and Deneen Flowers Hazlett of Martinsburg, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, Va.

Flowers of Garden City, S.C.; paternal grandparents, Ronald W. Hazlett Sr. and Deanna Hazlett of Martinsburg; great-grandparents, Thelma Flowers of Brounland, W.Va., and Charles Donahue Sr. of Uniontown, Ohio; aunts and uncles.
