Marvin R. Crouse

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Marvin Robert Crouse, 83, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Fairfax Hospital Trauma Center in Falls Church, Va.

Born Aug. 26, 1915, in Frederick County, Va., he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Agnes Sherrard Crouse.

He attended Mt. Trimble School, Morgan County, and Berkeley Springs High School, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

He retired from Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown as a machinist; He previously was employed at local orchards.

He was a member of Michaels Chapel United Methodist Church, Morgan County.

He was a member of AARP; Deford Lodge 88 A.F. & F.M., Berkeley Springs; and was active at Pleasant View Community Center, Morgan County, and Morgan County Senior Life Services in Berkeley Springs.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Virginia Michael Crouse; two daughters, Daisy Fox of Hedgesville and Mary Jo Crolley of Frederick, Md.; one son, Darrell W. Crouse of Hedgesville; one sister, Catherine Lyons of Baltimore; three grandsons, one granddaughter, three great-granddaughters, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert William Crouse.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Revs. Wayne Frum and Dan Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads cemetery, Morgan County.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from noon.

Memorial donations may be made to Pleasant View Community Center, Route 3, Box 2990, Hedgesville, WV 25427.

Almerinto Risi

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Almerinto Risi, 81, of Shepherdstown, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was the son of the late Fernando and Maria Dominca Risi.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his wife, Elvira D'Angelo Risi; one daughter, Maria Lamanna of Shepherdstown; two sisters, Italia Risi and Dilata Risi, both of Salerno, Italy; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Luiginia Risi; and one brother, Domenico Risi.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John V. DiBacco, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Lonza D. Albright Jr.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lonza Dow Albright Jr., 70, of Martinsburg, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at City Hospital.

Born Jan. 21, 1929, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lonza Dow Sr. and Sallie Jane Harper Albright.

He was retired from National Fruit Products after 45 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose; Tomahawk Archery Rangers; and Big Lick Sportsman Club.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Butts Albright; one daughter, Susan Smith of Smithsburg; one sister, Wanda Snyder of Martinsburg; one granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Glenville Albright, Bruce Albright, Guy Albright, Alfred Albright, Victor Albright and Robert Albright.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. R. Shawn Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery with military services by Berkeley Post 14, American Legion and Newton D. Baker Post 896, VFW.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Redith M. Boyce

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Redith Mae Boyce, 93, of Martinsburg, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at Care Haven of Berkeley.

Born July 11, 1905, in St. Luke, Va., she was the daughter of the late Homer and Ora Bower Kipps.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Otto Boyce.

She retired from Winchester Knitting Mill.

She is survived by six sisters, Hazel Hoover of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Ruby Albright of Martinsburg, Marie Brymesser and Jeanette Husler, both of Carlisle, Pa., Helen Ashton of Shanghai, W.Va., and Audra Shifler of Chambersburg, Pa.; one brother, Dolph Kipps of Sandston, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Hester Boyce; and three brothers, Charles Kipps, Harold Kipps and Cletus Kipps.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. David Risley will officiate. Burial will be in Frederick County, Va.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Walter S. Majewski

GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Walter Stanley Majewski, 80, of Great Cacapon, and formerly of Mount Rainier, Md., died Monday, March 29, 1999, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born Sept. 9, 1918, in Shenandoah, Pa., he was the son of the late Anthony and Helen Gurski Majewski.

He attended St. Anislaus Catholic School in Shenandoah.

He retired as a cook in 1971 from U.S. Soldiers Home in Washington, D.C.

He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. His awards included the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal with one Bronze Star and the WWII Victory Medal.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Velda Jane Noland Kolomik Majewski; one sister, Sophia Zukowski of Shenandoah; two brothers, John Majewski of Elizabeth, N.J., and Edward Majewski of Union, N.J.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony Majewski, Joseph Majewski, Chester Majewski, and Alouisious Majewski.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. John S. Ledford will officiate. Burial will be in Great Cacapon cemetery with military honors by Tri-State Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 9 a.m.

Mary P. Custer

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Pearl Custer, 82, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Bain Busey.

She was formerly employed by Montgomery Ward Outlet Center as a sales manager.

She was a member of Rosemont Grace Brethren Church, and attended Independent Bible Church.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Lee Custer; two sons, the Rev. James Lee Custer of Columbus, Ohio, and Douglas Lee Custer of Cocolake, Fla.; one brother, the Rev. Harold B. Busey of Fort Pierce, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Rosemont Grace Brethren Church. The Rev. Harold Busey and Pastor Curt Lowery will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Friends may call at Rosedale Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle.
