MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Samuel Theodore Johnson, 91, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at City Hospital.
Born July 4, 1908, in Jefferson County, he was the son of the late Samuel Grant and Florence Ada Dailey Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Dodson Johnson.
He was a member of Martinsburg High School Class of 1927, and was quarterback of the football team.
He was an employee of South Quarry under the Standard Lime and Stone Co. He retired from Martin Marietta Cement Corp. in 1973.
He was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church.
He was a member of the Moose and National Rifle Association. He was a catcher and outfielder for Hose Company 55 Semi-Pro Baseball team.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Jean Johnson; a stepson, Michael David McClain of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Edith Usak, Eva L. Hollis, Bertha Claytor, and Anna Kline; a brother, George W. Johnson; and a half sister, Emma Jane Johnson.
She was employed as a nursing aide at Knott Nursing Home in Charles Town, W.Va.
She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Charles Town.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet M. Collier of Shenandoah Junction; one son, Robert Peacher of Ranson, W.Va.; five sisters, Nancy Slevin, Beverly Stotler, Darlene Albright, Debbie Johnson and Linda Albright, all of Martinsburg; five brothers, Gary Albright, Johnny Albright, Dennis Albright, Richard Albright and Donald Albright, all of Martinsburg; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Albright.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town. Pastor Richard E. Neal will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Emma B. Davis
MORGAN COUNTY, W.Va. - Emma Belle Heironimus Davis, 89, of the Greenwood Section, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at the home of her daughter in Houston.
Born March 6, 1911, in Frederick County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Hutchinson and Betty Olivia Bageant Heironimus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Herman Davis.
She attended public schools in Frederick County.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, Unger, W.Va.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda D. Place of Houston; a brother, Harry Lee Heironimus of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; three granddaughters, Kenda S. Klorer, Karen K. Place and Kelly J. Place, all of Houston; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Calvin Heironimus and Charles Edwin Heironimus.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs, W.Va. The Rev. Glenn F. Stevens Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Grove cemetery, Unger.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 11 a.m.

Jeanne Y. Stout
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jeanne Young Stout, 70, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at City Hospital.
Born July 2, 1929, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Louis Talbott Sr., and Dorothy Robey Young.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Fred W. Stout; two sons, Mike Stout of Pennsylvania and Stephen Stout of Inwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Dorothy Reynolds of Martinsburg and Patricia Buskey of Hollywood, Fla.; a brother, Louis T. Young Jr., of Martinsburg; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Stout; a sister, June Saunders, and a brother, Dr. John R. Young.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. John Ledford will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Edith N. McDaniel
INWOOD, W.Va. - Edith Normi McDaniel, 78, of Inwood, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at her home.
Born Sept. 13, 1921, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Alexander R. and Henrietta Miller Stilwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce W. McDaniel.
She is survived by two sisters, Edna Ashton of Shanghai, W.Va., and Ella Lee Brindle of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Guy Stilwell, Augustus Stilwell, Raymond Stilwell and Richard Stilwell; two half sisters, Mary S. Lamp and Abigail Auchey; and five half brothers, Autiff Stilwell, Wade Stilwell, Hugh Stilwell, Arley Stilwell and Dudley Stilwell.
Graveside services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale cemetery. Irvin Shultz will officiate.

Mavis W. Steinke
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Mavis Wilhelmina Steinke, 59, of Harpers Ferry, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at her home.
Born June 2, 1940, in Teaneck, N.J., she was the daughter of Mavis Butler Crede of Westward, N.J. and the late Henry Crede.
She was a registered nurse.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Susan Heubisch of Harpers Ferry; a son, Bernard Richard Steinke of Frederick, Md.; four sisters, Margurite Crede of Westwood, N.J., Susan Bobar of Vermont, Jean-Marie Crede of Boston and Tammy Weigl of Santa Curz, Calif.; a brother, Henry Crede of North Carolina; two grandchildren; and her former husband, Bernard Peter Steinke.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Angelic Steinke, and a son, Martin J. Steinke.
