Mrs. Kathy Wilson Kesterson
Mrs. Kathy Wilson Kesterson, age 64, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Friday, October 25th in Texarkana.
She was born to Oliver and Susie Cartwright Wilson in Quemado, New Mexico on May 16, 1949. She grew up in Gillham, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grannis. She enjoyed writing poetry, and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, several of her siblings, and a son, Randy Kesterson.
She is survived by her husband of over 49 years, Garland L. Kesterson of Dierks, a son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Sonya Kesterson of Texarkana, Texas, Five grandchildren, Blake Kesterson, Kaylee Kesterson, Ryan Kesterson, Cody Kesterson, and Bradley Kesterson, two sisters, Hazel Wakefield and Virgie Heifner both of Okahoma, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Kathy Kesterson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 28th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Daniel Cemetery, Wickes, Arkansas. Mr. Von Parker
Mr. Von Parker, age 72, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home.
He was born February 6, 1941 in Howard County, Arkansas. He was a logger, worked for Weyerhaeuser for 34 years, and was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Dierks.
Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Ennis and Snoe Kitchens Parker; and a sister, Shirley Smith.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Nora Sue Crabtree Parker of Dierks; a daughter, Connie Parker of Austin, Texas; a niece and her husband, Mariea and Tommy McCary; two great-nephews, Luke and Jake; and a number of cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Robert Peek officiating. Burial will follow in the Burg Cemetery.
Mrs. Evelyn Juanita Inman Mills
Mrs. Evelyn Juanita Inman Mills, age 88, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, October 24th in the Brookewood Nursing & Rehab.
She was born to Coburn Virgil and Betty Mae Lee Inman at Roland, Arkansas on April 16, 1925. She was retired from loan department of the Union National Bank in Little Rock, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen. She enjoyed traveling, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lafae Mills of De Queen, two grandchildren, Charlene Juanita Mills of De Queen, and Douglas Coburn Mills of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Mills will be held Monday, October 28th at 2:00 P.M. in Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Sunday, October 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
Dorothy Sue Clift Taylor
Mrs. Dorothy Sue Clift Taylor, age 64, a resident of Bryant, Arkansas died Saturday, October 19, 2013 in Bryant.
She was born July 27, 1949, in Ink, Arkansas. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her father, Bufford “Jake” Clift and her mother, Dorothy Pennick.
She is survived by one son, Robert Clift and wife, Terrie Clift of Higginson, Arkansas; one daughter, Melissa Kaye Day of De Queen, Arkansas; one brother, Gary Clift and wife, Brenda Clift of Horatio, Arkansas; 7 grandchildren, Andy Knapp, Holly Bates, Matthew Knapp, Kyle Clift, Stormie Garza, Stefany Neal and Gina Bohannon; 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Isaiah, Caleb, Dylan, Jordyn, Daniel, Kari, Emily, Sarah and Braxton.

Dr. Louis Dale Stubbs, Sr.
Dr. Louis Dale Stubbs, Sr. of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Thursday, October 17, 2013 following a brief but valiant struggle with cancer. He was 85 years old. He was born in De Queen on January 2, 1928. He was the son of William Franklin Stubbs and Sophia Kathleen Sullivan of De Queen, and the grandson of Samuel Alanzo Stubbs and Laura Samantha Williamson Stubbs and William Henry Sullivan and Minnie Allen Mays Sullivan Collier. Louis married Sharon Ann Fuller on December 22, 1967 in Eufaula, Oklahoma.
Following graduation from De Queen High School, Louis served in the United States Navy for 12 years. He was a World War II veteran, where he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. During the 
Korean War, Louis was mobilized to service in The Republic of the Philippines, stationed at the U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay. Following military service, he attended Oklahoma State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1957. He continued post-doctoral studies at the University of California San Diego, Texas A&M University, and the University of Arkansas. Louis entered private veterinary for 10 years in the Arkansas cities of Paris, Little Rock, Russellville, and Waldron. He served as a research consultant for drug companies Merck Sharp & Dhome, and Naremco, Inc., then left private practice to serve 2 years as the Director of Clinical Research for Biotoxicological Research Associates in Lima, Ohio. He was employed for almost 45 years with The United States Department of Agriculture, as a Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer. He was appointed to, and served for 6 years as an Equal Employment Opportunity counselor with the U.S.D.A.
Louis had a deep love for public service, genealogy, history, farming and flying. He was a member of the Geneva Missionary Baptist Church, which was founded in 1906 at the home of his grandfather, John Williamson. He was a member and past President of the De Queen Chapter of Rotary International, where he also served as the District Chairman of the Polio Eradication Committee. He was a 32nd degree Mason (Scottish Rite). He was a member of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution. He served on many boards and commissions throughout his life, including: Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association (board of directors), American Veterinary Medical Association, National Association of Federal Veterinarians (past president), Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives, Sevier County Historical Society (board of directors and life member), Sevier County Genealogical Society (past President), Southeastern Oklahoma State University Curriculum Advisory Board, Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas Advisory Board.
He is survived by his wife of almost 46 years, Sharon Ann Fuller Stubbs; a sister and brother-in-law, Allene and Don Eakin of Gloster, Louisiana; five children: Louis Stubbs, Jr. and wife Sandra, Kenneth Stubbs and wife Linda, Kevin Stubbs and wife Genevieve, Kimberly Nance and husband Kevin, and Charissa Womack and husband Stan. In addition to his five children, he is survived by ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: Louis Stubbs, III; Mark Stubbs, wife Kendra and daughter Katelan; Margaret Bosenbark, husband Christopher, daughters Brittany, Caitlyn, and sons Jackson and William; John Stubbs; Michael Stubbs; Daniel Stubbs, wife Kristine, sons Michael Longoria, Jackson, and daughter Khloe; Aaron Fenwick; Samuel Fenwick; Stephanie Womack; Steven Womack, wife Destiny and son Shawn. He was further blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd from 6-7 pm at Chandler Funeral Home, 1015 West Collin Raye Drive in De Queen. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd at 2pm at Geneva Missionary Baptist Church, 188 Geneva Church Road in De Queen, with Pastor Travis Lane and grandson Rev. Mark Stubbs officiating. Following the service, Louis will be interred in the Redman Cemetery
next to his parents.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren Louis Stubbs, III, Michael Stubbs, Daniel Stubbs, John Stubbs, Margaret Bosenbark, Aaron Fenwick, Samuel Fenwick, Stephanie Womack and Steven Womack. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Steve Cole, Dr. Ray Allen, Dr. Emmett Barnett, and Dr. Leonard Fuson.
Billye Joy Holland Gallagher
Mrs. Billye Joy Holland Gallagher, age 81, a resident of Winthrop, Arkansas, loving wife of Daniel Gallagher for many years, died Monday, October 14, 2013, at her home.
She was born August 10, 1932, in Snead, Oklahoma. She was a retired X-Ray and lab technician, a member of the Winthrop Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Gallagher was preceded in death by her father, William Harrington Holland; her mother, Lera Lambert Snead Garner; her step father, Woods Wilson Garner; her husband, Daniel Gallagher; one brother, Franklin Garner and a sister, Marilyn Sue Janoe.
She is survived by one daughter, Glenda Joy Collins of Madison, Alabama; one son, Claude Ray Collins of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; one sister, Judie Brunson of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brothers, Gilbert Garner of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Monty Garner of Choctaw, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Terri Leigh Collins, Bradley Michael Collins and Justin Ray Collins; several great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Gallagher will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, in the Winthrop Methodist Church with Bro. Phil Smith officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Mr. Michael Lee Dunn
Mr. Michael Lee Dunn, age 65, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 in the Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana.
He was born to Lonnie J. and Lois Jean Wendell Dunn in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 15, 1948. He was a truck driver for Baldwin Trucking in Amarillo, Texas, He enjoyed his work, as well as fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Linda C. Dunn of De Queen, one son, Jamie Ayers of De Queen, two daughters, Jana Ayers and Heather Dunn both of De Queen, 7 grandchildren, Celeste Dunn, Jarrell Czarnetzki, Gary Czarnetzki, Meagan Czarnetzki, Allisa Dunn, Brandon Williamson, and Cynthia Karst, eight great-grandchildren, his parents, and a number of siblings, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hershal Eugene Kitchens, Sr.
Mr. Hershal Eugene Kitchens, Sr., age 78, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, in De Queen. He was born February 27, 1935 in Hitchita, Oklahoma.
He was a retired police officer and a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Kitchens was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Virginia Morgan Kitchens.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Hank and Reva Kitchens of Gillham, Arkansas and George Kitchens of Springerville, Arizona; two daughters, Betsy Kitchens of Phoenix, Arizona and Jerri Newman of Springerville; one sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Ray Anderson of Phoenix; six grandchildren and a number of great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Betty Ray Smith Akins Tolleson, age 62, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, October 08, 2013, in the Brookewood Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on September 22, 1951 in Ashdown, Arkansas, to Leonard Ray and Verna Louise Oglesby Smith. She was a homemaker, and a member of the New Life In Jesus Christ Church in Nashville, Arkansas. She enjoyed crafts, reading, and visiting with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harold Thomas and Gene Thomas, and a sister, Glenna Tuttle.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Victor Martin of De Queen, two sons and a daughters-in-law, Mike and Tammy Akins of Foreman, and John and Lisa Akins of Horatio, eight grandchildren, Justin, Derek, Taylor, Matthew, Kristin, Garet, Dylan, and Kory, three Great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Joseph, and Emiley, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lola and G. A. Cearley of Vandervoort, Arkansas, Evelyn and Dan Ford of Horatio, and Janet and Joe Sumrell of Ashdown, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fairy Bell Cowling Leeper, age 85, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in De Queen.
She was born August 10, 1928, in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. She was the former manager of the Palace Motel and a member of the First Baptist Church in Reydon, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Leeper was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Grace Lee Corbell Cowling; her husband, Joseph Holman Leeper, Jr.; two sons, Jay and Scotty Leeper and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Tom Dailey; one son, Michael Todd Leeper all of De Queen; two grandchildren, Tammi Nickerson and Christopher Dailey; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Christine “Chris” Smith Brown Wesson
Mrs. Mary Christine “Chris” Smith Brown Wesson, age 85, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, October 5, 2013, in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born to Dolphus and Opal Pruitt Smith on October 3, 1928 in Prescott, Arkansas.
She was retired owner and operator of the Sportsman Bait Shop in Paraloma, as well as a homemaker. She attended the Church of Christ, and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, canning, gardening, and was an avid sportswoman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Barbara Morgan, Andy Smith, and Denver Smith, her husbands, Odis D. Brown, and Raymond Wesson, and a grandson, Sammy Haynie.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Dale and Shirley Brown of Ashdown, Ark., Ronald Odis and Cathy Brown of Hope, Ark., and Danny Joe and Andra Brown of Monticello, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Preston Sirmon of De Queen, thirteen grandchildren, Patricia, Robby, Denvil, Chris, Kaycee, Cassidy, Cody, Kelley, Wendi, Bryan, Barry, Brenda, and Mary Kate, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Smith Daniel of Prescott, Ark., and a number of nieces and nephews.
